Floss - I really don't know who would do the sorting if I gave it up. C's wife does a lot of pastoral visiting and is busy with the youth in the Church.
I have dropped my glasses and split the frame - I do have a spare pair but when the opticians open up again - I will order a pair with the new prescription.
The local hospital here is heaving - a Church friend in her 80s has been in a corridor for 3 days.
After time spent at A & E on Christmas day - very tired on Boxing day. It is a day that I find hard anyway as it was Mum and Dad's wedding anniversary. Mr F said his leg hurt more on that day so it was the right decision to visit the hospital.
Sales on V slowed right down over Christmas but picked up again so been busy wrapping and labelling parcels.
There was no service at Church on Sunday - a divisional service was broadcast.
I did no cooking for 4 days after receiving dinners.
A sea dip takes place here too - not for me.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I'm rounding off with 1950 but do know if frogs were in there would be past 2024 and probably as I often forget may even have got there anyway. Happy with 1950 and wouldn't have been achieved without Mrs SD and everyone here.
DD2 not co-operated on the decluttering but rubbing along more important, she has friends round and is off to a party and I'm sipping my G &T before heading out and all is ok in the TC household.
Anything else can wait
See you all on the 2025 thread.
Looking for a happy and peaceful new year for all x14 -
A final post of 2024. I can only echo the thoughts of others on what a wonderful supportive thread this is. It kept me sane whilst the house move was faltering and everyone shares so generously of their lives. The good times, happy news and shared memories but also the sharing of the harder aspects of real life with the loss of family and pets, difficulties at home and work and illnesses. It feels like one big family. Special thanks to MrsSD. I have done quite well but didn't make the decluttering target although Mrs SD has kindly allowed me 200 points for decluttering my car. There is still stuff to go.
Things have to move for the electrician next week so I may find things. Some of the decorations are down but main tree will be done tomorrow. To be collected next week by hospice in return for donation. I queued a long time at tip today but nothing much else to do. New car inside lights don't come on so need to read manual or go to garage. Only drove it at night for the first time today. Staying up in case children want picking up early from party. DS2 has taxi booked for 1 am but small people may not make it till then. I've never really celebrated much on New Years Eve although my Scottish husband and his mother made a big deal of it. My father died on 31 December which is always a sad memory even after 43 years. Lots of family had bug over Christmas - niece and husband in US have been really ill and have cancelled their trip away with my sister next week which is a shame.

My final update of the year, I’ve decluttered another 4 bags on our local freebies site in between Christmas and New Year, all kids games and clothes. I also realise that I had forgotten to account for the books I had donated to the primary school library that I volunteer at, which for the year is 8 bags.
So my final overall total for 2024 is 121.5 bags, this far exceeds what I’d hoped to achieve.
We also decluttered a cat 4 days before Christmas, Violet had large cell Lymphoma and we got 3 more weeks than we expected. She came home on the 28th with her ashes in a beautiful wooden cat ornament and is sitting on our mantelpiece.
Thank you to everyone for their support and kind words this year and especially to Mrs SD for the monumental task that is cheerleading! The amazing declutterarti have kept me going at times this year, it’s better than a family some times. Much love to you all xxx
Happy New Year to everyone and I hope to see you on the 2025 thread.

6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
DH got back 14:30. I finally got dressed. The soup DH made is delicious 😋 DSis got back from her doctor’s appointment - very nice female doctor. Apparently DSis might have a thyroid issue, so more blood tests 😔 I did spend the rest of the afternoon working on the Awards post & my welcome post for the new thread. Dinner was linguine in a creamy bacon & pea sauce 🤤 & there is enough leftover for another 3 person meal. The wind has really picked up since about 22:00
Excellent work charlies_tribe 👏 See you on the 2025 thread 👋
Lovely post regnbue 😊
tibawo, although I like the idea of the open windows it really doesn’t seem very practical unless you live in Australia 😅 Sounds like a perfect way to spend a New Year’s Eve 😊
Fizz2015, hope you enjoy your evening 😊 Please remember NO LAUNDRY on New Year’s Day 🙏
Congratulations on reaching your target tiddles 👏 A Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 😊
Muddy_Walker, don’t you go munching too many chocolates 😉
Moorviews, you might not have achieved as much as you would have liked but look at it another way - you achieved way more than you would have done if you hadn’t boarded the EDT 🥳 Thank you for my beautiful gold 👑
Florenceem, so sorry to hear about your Church friend 😢 I do hope that she can see the New Year in from a bed on a ward 🙏 Also sorry to hear that MrF is still suffering 😔 More great work on the V sales 👏
TC77, I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ as I am happy that you did reach 2024 (especially as I remember how often you lost track of your numbers 😉) Hope you enjoy your evening out 😊
Lovely post GrannyKate 😊 As you were pretty close to your target, it seems mean not to acknowledge it so I am awarding you a medal 🏅 to round off 2024 😊
StickyTheStickInsect, that burst of decluttering activity has earned you another Gold Star ⭐️- well done 🥳 The cat ornament stands as a reminder of your lovely pet 😊
All caught up with the cheerleading 🥳 My final post on the 2024 Thread will be posted later.
HAPPY NEW YEAR

@StickyTheStickInsect - so sorry about Violet. But what a wonderful idea to have her ashes in a cat ornament to sit on your mantel. Our cats we have lost are just in little caskets on the mantel. I will suggest an ornament to our local vet. Much better for happier memories I think. We have a fourteen year old cat (plus two other younger ones) - the Cantankerous one.13

My last post on the 2024 Decluttering Thread
Another year of decluttering done - whatever happened to 2024 😱 The EDT moved so fast that many of us struggled to keep up 😉 although it was slightly slower than 2023 🤩
A year of ups & downs, successes & non-successes in our attempts to simplify our lives & homes. I would like to thank you all for making the 2024 Decluttering thread such a joy 😊 sharing your lives & photos 👏 & making new friends along the way. I am hoping that I see you all on the 2025 Decluttering Thread especially those who, for whatever reason, were unable to post 🙏
Here’s wishing you all
A HAPPY, HEALTHY & SUCCESSFUL 2025 & I will throw in LUCKY
Now to the Annual Awards 👏 No particular order & I hope I haven’t made any mistakes 😉

This is the casket we chose for my precious girls ashes. Her name is Jazz and we got her when she was 18months old. She passed when she was 18 and I miss her so very much. She was my girl, slept with me and trusted me. She died in my arms which I will always be grateful for. We decided a box wasn’t right for her so the crematorium found us this one. She was a tiny girl and this casket isn’t much smaller than her. It comforts me to know she is still with us. On the dresser in her bedroom with her mumma. Soppy mare arent I😸
