Hubby still has this virus so I have told him to contact the dr or else. It isn’t Covid and he’s already had one lot of antibiotics………..

New Year’s Eve 😥 What happened to 2024? I was up by 11:30 but have yet to get dressed. I have spent my time prepping my last post on this thread - the Awards List 😊 Later I will give thought to updating my Daily Mantras & setting some Goals for 2025. DH has popped out for some bakery products & DSis is getting ready for her doctor’s appointment.
Lovely post Duchess2 🥹
Looking forward to seeing you on the 2025 Thread 2Scratters 👋
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 I still think that you should be counting Frogs as part of totals 😉 as you would almost certainly have sailed past 2024 😊 Hope you have a great time tonight 🤞
What a wonderful post daisy_1571 🥹 I love the positivity you exude both in writing & in person 😊 I have had a quick glimpse of next year’s thread & I see you have continued in the same vein 👏 I might just ‘borrow’ the contents of one of your posts when I prep the 2026 Thread 😂
Excellent decluttering Muddy_Walker 👏 Sending a quick kick up the jacksie for your hubby that he books a doctor’s appointment pdq 😉
The three of us will have our usual quiet night in & will toast the New Year in with one drink - hopefully alcoholic (last year it was water for DSis & me 😔)
See you all later. Meanwhile cwtches to all 🤗

Me again 😅 Thought I would post a quick reminder about New Years Day superstitions (I did know about the No Laundry on New Year’s Day)
1. No laundry - could cause a loved one to be washed away during the coming year - rather creepy 😟
2. No sweeping, cleaning, wiping etc - see above 😟
3. Wear your best new clothes on New Year’s EVE to welcome the New Year in - it is believed that you will continue to look & feel your best throughout the year. 🙂
4. Don’t eat any chicken - it is believed if chicken is eaten diners will spend the year picking through dirt for their food i.e. bringing poverty on one’s self - another creepy one 😟
5. Noise & light from fireworks coupled with cheering & music is believed to ward off evil spirits. Oddly enough so is hanging a lemon above the door 🤔
6. Open doors & windows just before midnight to let out the old year & leave open until after midnight to let in the new year - I rather like this one 🙂
7. Rather a strange one - avoid crying cats 🤔 thought to be a bad omen so avoiding them is your best bet to a year filled with good luck 🍀
So there you have it - although there does appear to be a whole list of others including first footing, fire festivals, banging the bread, rabbits, underpants colour, eating grapes, leaping off chairs 😬 But my favourite one is giving lucky tokens to your friends & family 😊
So whether you believe or not, I will take this opportunity to wish everyone a

Hello All
Final 2024 post before heading over to new 2025 thread.
Echoing others' comments regarding our wonderful motivator/cheerleader Mrs_SD. Your regular observations and positivity keep us all going when the going gets tough.
I am sure I speak for many when I say less progress would have been made with decluttering had it not been for you and the contributors to this thread.
Keep going everybody and.....Happy New Year!

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger just chuckled at the open the windows and doors for New Year- tis blowing a gale here - i’d spend the next half an hour mopping up from the rain that came in!!Not decluttering but i nipped the supermarkets as doing mums taxi duties and managed to snap up some cheap meat that will be frozen and used in the 99 days of January!
Bless my parents as found out i was alone tonight as kiddies out and said i could go to theirs - felt bad saying no as i’m really looking forward to a last push on the random decluttering. I’ll be doing it with a glass in one hand and can move around collating piles, the only worrying bit is going outside to put recycling and rubbish out - i refuse to put a coat on as bins only about 5 metres away but the weather is awful!Don’t put it down - put it away!

So sorry to read of your loss @charlies_tribe and I understand how hard it is to lose a beloved pet 💐Just popping in to thank everyone for another great year of decluttering. It always fires me up when I read of what you have been up to! I haven’t talked about what the happenings of this year have been but it hasn’t been an easy one for various reasons and I am looking forward to waving it farewell. I am not sure I could have focused on doing much if it were not for the lovely supportive chat here on the thread. How you keep up with it all Mrs SD I don’t know but you do it wonderfully well and deserve a beautiful gold 👑
I didn’t achieve what I set out to achieve but I have still made progress and I am delighted with that. Generally, I find it amazing how much everyone does achieve despite many upsets and setbacks in life and health. You are all an inspiration!
I wish you all the best of the best for going onwards into 2025 xxToday, I have put another load of paperwork into the shredding bag and prepared my filing system for 2025. Washed and dried all the Christmas table linen and put aside what needs mending. Some squashy satsumas have gone into the compost and a shampoo tub and deodorant have been finished- plastic into recycling. That’s my last report for the year. See you over in the new thread! 😊10
