Managed to get last minute food shopping yesterday. Surprised it was not too bad. Perhaps it was just the shops I went in. Bang up to date with washing & ironing. Now everywhere’s tidy it’s so easy to keep it nice. Must remind myself of that early next year😂. I hope everyone has a peaceful and happy season however you celebrate and all good wishes for a healthy successful 2025. 🎄☃️ Special wishes for @Mrs_Salad_Dodger for your cheerleading and attention throughout the year. This is one of the most supportive and positive threads and I’m sure much of that is down to you MrsSD.💐🥂

Tuesday: rained before I got up at 11:00. A milder day is forecast with a high of 12°C. I have written cards for the neighbours - now I just have to ‘stir my stumps’ & deliver them 😉 Apologies for falling behind with the cheerleading 😔 wish I could say it was because I have been busy but…………..
Liverpool_Anne, a very busy Saturday & some great decluttering 👏 So pleased to hear that you had such a lovely evening with your friends 😊 I do hope you managed a small glass of something when you got home 😉
Muddy_Walker, sorry to hear that your weekend wasn’t so great 😔 Although you managed some great decluttering 👏 Hope yesterday’s foray to the shops for bread & sandwich fillings wasn’t too traumatic 😱
Lovely to see you diminua 👋 Sounds like there is no doubt you will reach your target before the end of the year 👏 Good luck 🍀
Florenceem, a busy Sunday 👏 Pleased to hear that you enjoyed the panto 😊
Well I have made a start 😉 Will post this & make myself a 2nd cuppa before trying again 😅 I hope everyone is having as good a day as possible & that none of you have to brave the undoubted chaos in the shops 🤞

I work in a sm and yesterday was my final Xmas shift. 23 December is our busiest day of the year and it lived up to that with it being absolute carnage. My very first customer expressed surprise it was so busy. I would like to know where they usually do their xmas shopping lol.
I was hoping to hibernate for the next 3 days but unexpectedly needed to collect my prescription so this morning joined the queue of 11 people outside the chemist at 8.58. We were all collecting prescriptions which was just as well as the till was broken (someone was lying on the floor underneath it trying to fix it) and I got out at 9.08.
Popped up to my sm afterwards just to buy some bagels as they'd had none for 3 days and inexplicably ended up with 7 other items from the reduced to clear sections as well. Trying to cram 3 of those items into an already jam packed freezer became a xmas miracle.
I am now off to the tlc carriage having pre-booked 2 extra fluffy ginger cats for company. Hoping to catch up on sleep and watch some favourite films.
Sending best wishes for whatever you are doing over the festive season and looking forward to a good 2025.
Merry Christmas. See you all next year

DH is finally up & about 🙂 I have my 2nd cuppa & have managed to do a little bit more cheerleading 😉 I am flagging now so will post this, put my iPad on charge & do a bit of knitting before returning 🙂

First of all MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY! 🎄
I hope that, wherever you are in life, you have the best possible Christmas. Hugs to everyone who wants one - or more!
I've not been contributing recently for a variety of reasons. I've been following though and have been thinking about all those who have been hurt, ill or are facing bereavement or difficulties. Let's hope 2025 is a better year for us all. Decluttering hasn't stopped, but slowed somewhat.
I've managed to have a few more NSDs but there have definitely been spendy ones - including the real doozy caused by my car's fuel tank needing replacing 😱. As this was a few days before DD and I were flying out of Edinburgh for a Christmas Market break things were (as you can imagine) hectic. Car booked into garage for repairs, but not ready in time to drive. Plus the garage closed on the 20th and we weren't back until late on the 22nd! Train tickets to be arranged, carpark cancelled etc.
We still enjoyed ourselves, though. It was even relatively frugal. I was stunned...! 😲 Also the repair people (bless them) pulled an extra shift so that they could leave the car ready for me to pick up on Monday. So DD and I (and the rabbit) got to drive up Deeside for lunch, plus some Christmas shopping; and today I was able to taxi her and her father to the train station and DS to and from Town.
I need to tidy up the living room and put up the tree. As Christmas 2024 won't be finished till 12 January I've decided against a real one this year. I've had a fibreoptic one for years which, fortunately, still work. So I'll plug that in and get a few other decorations to dot around the house.
Again, best Christmas Wishes to you all.A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE, well I did my annual 6 dozen cheesy sausage rolls for my strapping 6ft grandsons and it took me two hours and by the time I had finished i was definitely cream crackered. The boys did all the washing up and tidying bless them my son-in-law cooked a fabulous curry which we all devoured and we played lots of games card and a Yes /No game which was a hoot .
We recorded anything we wanted to watch for later as having the boys down is such a treat and it was a bit noisy but so much fun.
I am now off the cooking roster for the rest of the year as DD said I was looking bit grey by the time I had finished so DGS Jack marched me into my sitting room made me put my feet up brought me a nice pots of tea and milk and cup and saucer and said you are not allowed to move from there until Dad calls you for dinner Nanny ,you have done too much, and I'm your Minder (we normally eat around 7ish)
The minute I poked my head out of the sitting room door he shouted out 'I'm watching you Nan you're barred from the kitchen' and his three bothers were the same
I can't argue with these 6ft lads as I'm only 5.3'. They are good lads and my DD had set them to keep an eye on me and threatened the hospital if I didn't behaveso I was having to do as I was told this afternoon
DGS Henry said I haven't travelled 120 odd miles for you to keel over Nan, to the point that boy, while Mikey the youngest said he would superglue my sitting room door if I didn't behave.
They loved the sausage rolls though and made good inroads into them
So now the house is quiet and the boys seem to have nodded off, I'll be up as usual around 6.30 and have to creep downstairs to make a cuppa. We have one sleeping in the spare room two in the main sitting room and one in my sitting room on blow up mattresses. They are quite hardy young men and seem to be able to nod off where ever they are. They are so pleased to be here for our first IoW Christmas, once they start settling down and having families it will be different, so we are making the most of them Boy can they put the food away though all have healthy appetites which is lovely
So Happy Christmas everyone and hope you ll enjoy the festivities
Me i'm happy with a cuppa and my knitting just watching and listening to them all

Finally back after watching Guy Martin, Arctic Warrior & making a big effort to finish the 2nd baby blanket. I have 20 rows left then I will put away the knitting needles until the weekend 😉 I used up the last of the Bolognaise sauce with spaghetti. DH did the washing up 😇 & I dupa.

nannywindow, so sorry to hear that you have compounded your illness by trying to knock yourself out 😔 Rather than just dropping off sausage rolls & mince pies to the TLC Carriage, I think you should just stay there & rest & relax 😉
Foofoopuppy, great way to end your decluttering year - a few pennies in the kitty & a bag of teddies cheering up several children (hopefully) 🥳
Soontobeoap, you absolutely deserve it 😊 & remember I do Not award gold stars lightly 😉
Florenceem, another busy day on Tuesday 👏 I agree with Floss that perhaps you should let Mrs C cover all that you do for SA 😉 Not sure she would last a morning 😂
Lovely post Floss 👏
oceanspirit, yippee to OH following instructions 🥳
Great decluttering TC77 👏 Fingers crossed that DD1 helps out with the decluttering by taking lots of items back to her new flat 🤞
Oops didn’t catch up 🙊 Never mind 😉
WISHING YOU ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS 🌲
