Just a quite note tonight alls well but my DDs little Jack Russell is poorly DD and her OH have had the talk and are just praying the little lass will hang on until next weekend as my DGS Jack is coming for the weekend and I know how heartbroken he would be if he didn’t get a chance to say his goodbyes as although it’s really my DDs dog Jack has been her constant companion until we moved for the past 15 years and when ever he came home from Uni etc she was attached to him like glue and I know he’s going to be so sad next weekend when he comes down
She a dear little lass and they have had her from a tiny puppy, all the boy played with her growing up but she attached herself to our gentle Jack and always slept on his feet at home
We Know she’s not got long to go and it’s a bit of a sad house tonight

Sorry to hear your daughter is suffering. Speedy recovery for both your sakes @QueenJess. Seems like you have everything nearly sorted @GrannyKate. You have waited so long but the end is in sight now. Ahhh @London _1 what a shame about your DD’s little dog. It’s so sad when we have to say goodbye to our fur babies. They truly are part of our families. They bring far more joy than sadness and it’s a privilege to be part of their lives. I hope she waits for Jack. Hugs to you all.14

Hugs and prayers for those who need them. Very hard on people who love their pets not to be able to be with them when the end comes. Hope Jack makes it to see his furry friend one more time.15

Friday: I spent the rest of the afternoon & evening watching TV & knitting. The scarf is coming along nicely & I can now remember the 12 row pattern without having to resort to the pattern 🙂 Dinner was steak (which DH cooked), chunky chips & parmentier potatoes, baked mushrooms & tomatoes & garden peas. 😋 Needless to say there were no leftovers 😉 Wudupa.

Hi all, reasonable day yesterday. 2LDFPA from the maiden and 2 loads on the maiden after having a blow on the line for a few hours
. I threw away my birthday flowers except for the roses as I read somewhere that you can strike cuttings from them if you cut off the flower head and plant them up so I have done that, nothing to lose as I had half a bag of compost lurking and a suitable pot. They have been stood with the other rose cuttings and have been told they have a choice, live or die, I will inspect them occasionally and throw some water at them if it doesn't rain
. The vases were washed and put where they live
. I went to start tea and was totally overwhelmed by the mess in the kitchen so I decided to tackle a part of it. I have mentally broken it down into chunks so half the worktop, up to the cooker was completely cleared and scrubbed. Lots of stuff into the bin / recycling. Some stuff washed up but left to drain and OH's washing up put into the sink. The only thing on there now is a massive jar of olives that is too big to fit in the cupboard and some crusty cobs that will be eaten for lunch tomorrow. I looked at it and felt quite achieved. I will tackle the other side of the cooker maybe tomorrow and then the cooker
. 1 glass bowl accidentally decluttered during the process, oops
. The kitchen recycling was emptied
. A bit more crochet done after tea..
@Vulpix always good to catch up on sleep, as you say, you must have needed it. I think your cunning plan for the book / film is excellent
. As for the meal planning I have devised a system. While we were away I had a discussion with OH about meal planning along the lines of we will do a list of meals we like and then shop for them, we don't have to have specific meals on a given day but we have stuff in to make what we fancy on any given day. So I am working with that and OH is continuing to bumble along, we take turns to cook and when OH asks what I want I just say anything on the list
. We have had jacket potato twice and egg and chips as OH's offerings so far but I am not complaining as I have been able to pick something to cook from the list knowing we have everything in
. Don't know how long it will last but it works for me atm
. I don't mind the cooking so much as the thinking
@oceanspirit look after yourself, hugs. Hope you manage to get away to recharge your batteries
@QueenJess sorry your last day was a let down, hope your dd recovers soon hugs
@florianatwobob I was really taken with Penrith, you should visit your cousins one day and check it out. Maybe it's because I live in a city but I felt I was stepping back in time with all the old fashioned shops etc. I am sure some of the people who live there love to visit a big city as well to get access to all the big chains, swings and roundabouts I suppose
@GrannyKate you really are powering along. I bet the hanging baskets look lovely
. Good luck with all the jobs, it sounds like you have everything in hand
@London_1 sorry to hear about the little dog, hugs.
@TC77 hugs
I have a footy match this afternoon so I had better get going and see what I can get done.
Hugs to everyone who would like one
1772 & 1773 LDFPA
1774 rose cuttings planted
1775 vases washed and put away
1776 section of kitchen sorted
1777 glass bowl
1778 kitchen recycling
Take care everyone

@Liverpool_Anne last time I was there was for my aunt’s funeral. It is a lovely town, I know what you mean about it being a little olde worlde, When we were there we were walking up one of the roads and they still had the coal man delivering (with the flat bed truck) but looking like Eliza Doolittle’s father in My Fair Lady. I’d not seen a coal man delivering like that since I was a very little girl in the early 80’s!My home town is also a market town but being so close to London the character has changed and it’s now a commuter suburb but, again when I was little, we had a dairy in the town centre, the cattle market (and sometimes the cows being walked to the market and penned in the street when there wasn’t enough room for them). Wandering into town was a bit like a trip to the petting zoo as chickens, rabbits etc used to be sold there too. I’m only 46 but new residents probably wouldn’t recognise that version of the town!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Hi, best wishes to poorlies, including pets.x
What a mess I have got. The Christmas decorations are up in the sitting room and will just need a bit of tweaking. When I say tweaking I mean a rub with the dish cloth from where Fomo has resumed his annual vendetta with a Christmas robin. The kitchen however has every surface covered and boxes cover the floor. Tidying up is my job today. I had forgotten that I only have 2 boxes of decorations these days, but I pack them well!
Out yesterday some broken Christmas lights. Some Christmas decorations to be offered to DD1 before they go to the charity shop. Also out some padded envelopes as requested for our charity shops online sales, and some holey socks.
Mr V is out enjoying his sheds now a car full of stuff has left. He is fitting some new door knobs to the doors as the previous ones were too small. The new door knobs were ones from the last house renovation that I saved for Justin. Old, rubbish, too small knobs in the bin.
In from my shed, paper- white daffs that I "planted" on gravel in glass vases, one for me and one a pressie for DIL's Birthday. They should bloom in time for Christmas. I said we need to buy tea lights. Mr V has produced a box of mixed candles from the shed which were from his Mother's. Result. I had completely forgotten about them.
The town where I live was still a market town when I was a child.Weekly market, drapers shop, jewellers, shoe shops, 3 wool shops etc. There was a huge amount of house building in the 70's. We are now a dormitory town and all the shops we have are take aways. A Tesco has also been built just out of town. No banks and not even a Post Office now.
Take care Vx

Thank you all for MrSD’s birthday wishes 😊 He did receive another card on Saturday & I forgot to mention that my nephew phoned from France on Friday evening 😊

Hi chums just a quick update, sadly DD and son-in-law had to take the little Jack Russell to the vets today and she’s now gone to sleep. She couldn’t stand this morning and hadn’t eaten since Friday and was struggling to breathe
DD and my son-law are naturally devastated as he had bought her for my DDs 40th birthday and she was a real little character.
We got all the boys on FaceTime this morning so they could say their goodbyes DGS Jack was in tears as he was very attached to her.So a bit of a sad day today. I’ll be giving them lots of hugs when they get home
