I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your good friend London 1.xx
Just enough time to wish a very happy birthday to Mr SD.xx
Florenceem, how about buying a clothes rail for your sales from the money you make? It would help keep track of everything.
We are just back, Mr V is up at 5 tomorrow to go to work. I hope I sleep tonight, I only had about 3 hours last night. Hence my ramblings this morning.
Liverpool Anne, I have never tried tai chi, it does look like something I would enjoy. I have done yoga for about 30 years and cannot praise it highly enough... even with arthritis. I would probably seize up altogether without it.
The photo of the index card drawers isn't the best, they are a much nicer colour in real life, The Christmas chairs are a work in progress. I will get on with it this weekend as I don't intend to go out at all at weekend now until Christmas is over. I made a cute yoyo Christmas tree on an old wooden bobbin on the way down South today. I have a hand sewing project on and some knitting that I would like to finish this week.
Lots of things rehomed today, I came back with a short story to read. My son's entry for a short story competition at his work. He has numerous hobbies, one of which is writing. I think he is very good, but I am biased.

So sorry to hear about your friend @London_1. It’s tough. Take care of yourself. @Florenceem good luck with your sale tomorrow. Stop looking for the lost V items and they will turn up. I frequently do this and it seems to work haha. 😃 That table is superb @vulpix. I love saving items that would otherwise have been scrapped. Look forward to pics of the Xmas chairs when finished. Gives you a good feeling to re-purpose items even if you don’t hang on to them, they go on to have a life with someone else. Although I find it hard to part with projects that I have put a lot of effort into. Right I really must get to bed. Have an early appointment with Aldi and then some clearing in my DS’s garden and a tip run. Goodnight one and all.16

Hi all, a reasonable day yesterday. I sorted all the post and after listening to a thing on the radio about the perils of keeping your cards in your phone case I had a sort out of that, my purse and various other things I keep the numerous bits of plastic in so I now know where they all are
. I needed to collect my meds and call at the doctors for a sample pot so took 2 bags of hard plastic and a dead kettle to the tip on the way. On the way home I stopped to pick up some coffee and some crusty cobs from an independent bakery and when I got home had a quick coffee over the fence with ln. She was just home with her daughter and they were removing her dead dishwasher and trying to install a tumble dryer. I offered to help but was quite happy when they said they were ok as the other daughter was on her way round as they were about to cut through the pipes attached to the dishwasher. I had visions of the kitchen being flooded but it seemed ok. Ln's sil is coming round to check it all today
. He is very handy so everything crossed it's ok. Then I realised I hadn't been to pick up my meds, the reason I was going out in the first place
so walked to the chemist and then realised I hadn't any means to pay for the nasal spray having left my purse and cards in my bag
but I did get my prescription at least
. The kitchen bin and lr bin were emptied and after tea I did some more crochet
@Mrs SD I have googled those feeders and I actually think they are quite reasonable, I have spent quite a lot on feeders over the years but the plastic ones don't really last long and can be a nightmare to clean. I have drawn up a list of what I would like from the site, free delivery is a game changer for some of the stuff, so I will be checking the budget and putting an order in soon, thank you. Belated, (now), birthday wishes for Mr SD
@weenancyinAmerica it is possible to do tai chi sitting down but you would have to find an apprpriate class and sitting yoga is probably easier to find. My ln now 85 goes to sitting down keep fit if you can find that near you. All gentle stretching and strengthening would probably help. Maybe your physio or other health care people could recommend something nearby that would be good when you are at a stage in your recovery for it to help, hugs.
@daisy_1571 good idea
@Florenceem I think the suggestion of a clothes rail and tags might be a good idea to help you keep track of your listings, you can do without the stress of having to hunt for things that need to be wrapped and posted. Try to take a couple of days to sort through and organise what you already have at home before you bring any more in. Also if you have something like a clothes rail you will be able to keep track of things that don't sell and after a specific time decide whether you want to relist them or maybe take them to the cs or pass them on some other way, hugs. I used to do a market stall for a charity and found having the stock organised was the only way I could cope. I had to store it and the big stall at home and transport it all in my mini so it was a challenge.
@London_1 so sorry to hear about your friend, big hugs
@Vulpix sounds like you had a successful visit. I do admire people who can write, my ex boss wrote and self published 15 books of poetry and short stories during the pandemic. I have them all
I am sitting here with a cuppa listening to the dawn chorusbut not getting up yet as it's still dark
.
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Mr V has a 100 mile round trip, done his work and came home to me still asleep! I feel much more human today. I must have needed those 12 hours!
He has already put the Christmas tree up outside. Of course there were no instructions in the box and he has been unsuccessful finding them online. It works but not quite how I imagined. Hahaha It's a flasher, not quite the tasteful tree I had in mind. He's gone a walk down the road now to have a brew with his mate who has a wood makes stall at the Christmas market. Father Christmas will arrive by canal boat later and it's then Christmas tree light switch on, carols etc. He has my words ringing in his ears, don't buy anything.
Liverpool Anne, my son writes some great stuff. His problem is getting anyone other than me to read it and give feedback. Perhaps now he isn't teaching and has free time he will do something about publishing. At the moment he is writing a weekly cryptic crossword which he sends out online to a growing number of people at his work. Think there's about 50 subscribers atm. He writes them on his commute. When he was about 12, he told me he was tired, I asked why and he said I have been awake most of the night writing an episode of Jonathan Creek in my head! Hahaha My cunning plan is for me to do the research for my book/ film idea and he can write it!
Right, I am going to knock spots off. Tidy up, make a mess by getting the Christmas decorations out and think of and make something for tea, It's the bane of my life thinking of what food to make.
Take care Vx:18 -
Managed to wear myself out again and had a bad fatigue day on Tuesday. Trying to pace better this week as we hope to go away next weekend for a couple of weeks.
A box of old jigsaws has gone - they got left here when DSis moved but she didn’t want them back. Am so glad they have been taken away as we have enough stuff of our own in a small space!
Most of the Christmas shopping has been done - just cards to write and post this weekend which I enjoy doing.
Post and emails have built up again whilst been focussed on other things. One day I hope to be out of this seesawing of keeping on top of day to day tasks and decluttering.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅16 -
Finished work yesterday, but since no one was in when I dropped back my laptop, it felt like a bit of a let down. I was quite excited. However, events have changed as DD has the dreaded norovirus since Thursday evening and so I'm currently a 24 hour nursemaid.Given I am only catching some sleep and have to stay upstairs to be close enough to DD's room, I am not doing any of my planned baking and am instead working through some incredibly dull digital admin. On the plus side, more things to report as decluttered.Digital:
1 - emails unsubscribed from
11 - notes deleted
6 - unneeded financial accounts closed/merged
2 - online accounts/email aliases deleted
Physical:
8 - paper, reused then recycled

@Liverpool_Anne my aunt lived in Penrith and taught in the school there. My grandma was born in Matterdale and I still have distant cousins farming in the area. I suspect my aunt is probably haunting The George Hotel, with her cronies, with a glass of brandy in hand!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Evening all. Delighted to say the internet has arrived at my new place. No landline phone signal yet and engineer didn't know number - I wanted that before I do change of address notes to put in Christmas cards. I need to get overseas ones written. More boxes unpacked - I think I have found a space for stuff from old study but it needs sorting although stored away for the moment. It is mainly photo albums and loose photos that have no home for the moment. Gradually reducing boxes etc in room of doom and the garage.
Electrician's quote pretty much what I expected and we have agreed 6 January to start. I can put Christmas stuff away and try and clear things away from walls. Plumber said central heating ok - he serviced boiler and fire and advised me to get new carbon monoxide alarms. (done). A coupe of radiator valves could be replaced but not urgent. He repaired a leaking waste pipe outside whilst he was here. Hoping roofer comes this week. I also asked for quotes for windows to do say three at a time.
I realised that a garden centre I don't often visit is actually nearer this house than the very busy one I usually go to. I got there at opening time and treated myself to a hearty breakfast before buying a winter hanging basket. I later got two more at another place. Late DH wouldn't put brackets on our old bungalow walls but there are already 5 on the walls here. I have nearly finished business changes of address but a few need the printer so hope I can get one connected tomorrow.
Hugs to all who need one - I am skim reading everything at the moment.
