Hi all, a very poor decluttering day yesterday. I wasn't feeling brilliant and it was quite cold though I did get a load on the line and another on the maiden so 1 LDFPA from the maiden but that was basically all I did. I made a small attempt at sorting the kitchen but it's still a work in progress
. I did tea and went to the footy but when I got home I was very tired and just had a cuppa and went to bed. Today I have woken up to fog and -1°. It's mornings like this that make me glad I don't have to face the drive to work anymore
. I have a load of washing swishing and that has finally emptied the wash basket though I doubt it will get on the line
. I have my first cuppa and am watching a beautiful blackbird on the feeder
. I still have my list as well as a couple of other things I need to do today so we will see if I can get something done today
@Wednesday2000 hope the little cat recovers, hugs. I love a real Christmas tree
@QueenJess how kind of you to help your neighbour, it must be very hard decluttering someone else's stuff, not really knowing what they want to keep etc. Maybe that could be your new job.
@suzeesu2000 you are way ahead of me, I still have a list of presents to buy and a couple I have no idea what to get which is stressing me a a bit
@Florenceem I have seen lots of online posts about cs asking for toys to be donated before Christmas so maybe that is where you could take them.
@Deni_debt-free_dreamer decluttering ft jobs can be brilliant if it's your choice
@Vulpix, yes I will consult with OH re the Penrith show. Lovely photo
@Mrs SD I know that cba'd feeling about meals. I am usually ok when I cook but it's when OH cooks and I get the question "what do you want for tea?" that drive me crazy
Blue tits have arrived on the bird feeder and I am off to make another cuppa. Hugs to everyone who would like one
Totally pathetic numbers

Take care everyone

Good morning fellow declutterati 👋 I was up & dressed just before 10:00 due to a weird dream or should that be nightmare 😉 I was in a strange house full of boxes & had been tasked with emptying & decluttering contents 😦 The first huge box was full of paperwork (not mine) & VHS tapes & I wasn’t allowed to move on until it was fully sorted. I ended up with 2 full wheelie bins, a broken shredder just one empty box ……. which was when I woke up 😱 I am now trying to calm down with a cup of tea 🤞It is bright & sunny but chilly currently 3°C & only forecast to rise to 6°C. Before starting the cheerleading I decided to tackle one drawer of the kitchen freezer - wonders will never cease 😅 Binned 4 items that will never be used & transferred the rest of the contents to the garage freezer. I now have 2 empty drawers in the kitchen freezer & still have one empty drawer in the garage freezer 😀 I am starting from Tuesday’s posts so apologies for any confusion with my cheerleading 🙏
Florenceem, sorry to hear that MrF is still suffering 😔 Hopefully the new antibiotics & stronger painkillers will help set him on the road to a full recovery 🙏 Another busy day & well done on your continuing success raising funds for SA 👏 Now that you have discovered who is climbing over the wall, I do hope that something can be done to prevent this 🤞Insert the ‘wagging finger emoji’ here - not really sure that anyone could accuse you of procrastination as you have always appeared to me to make a decision & then act asap 😊 Keeping everything crossed that your back is recovered enough to be able to resume crafting - at least in a limited capacity🤞 However, please take it slow & easy 🙏
London_1, sounds like your son-in-law had an absolutely wonderful birthday treat 😊 & you had a productive day 👏 Pleased to hear that the skip has been taken away - another indication that all the building work & renovations are almost completed 🥳 Six weeks of disruption & the end is in sight 😮💨 Enjoy 😊
vulpix, this “………. We were asked to leave the sloth house as one was making the slowest break out ever over the top of the enclosure!” had me on the floor 🤣 Fingers crossed your visitors don’t arrive too early 🤞😉
Now starting to cheerlead Wednesday’s posts 😉
Lovely to see you Betharooni 👋 Sounds like you have been busy 👏 It can be quite slow going decluttering another person’s home especially if there are several family members who need to be involved in the process 😔 Hopefully your nephew is recovering ❤️🩹 Good luck with Friday’s Tip run 🍀 What a lovely idea from DSIL1 to get Care Bears made 🥹 As you have been so busy I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ & also sending cwtches 🤗 & 💐
Liverpool_Anne, a very busy Tuesday 👏 Pleased to hear that the engineer visit went so well 😊 & also led to some unexpected cleaning (rather than adding a task to your to Do list, which is probably what I would have done 😉) Shame about frightening the spiders 😂 This “……I find all this gov online stuff a bit stressful” with bells on 🔔 Hence DH doing all my online ‘stuff’ & me continuing to deal via the phone & mail 😟 Great cheerleading 👏 so am sending you 💐
Wednesday2000, sorry to hear that little cat is giving you cause for concern 😔 Hopefully today’s (Thursday) appointment will start to set her on the road to recovery 🙏 Sounds like your latest rearrangement of the downstairs living rooms is perfect 🤩 & all family members are happy 😊 DH & I are ‘bah humbug’ people when it comes to Christmas 😉 The only concession to decorating is a couple of strings put up on the lr wall to hang cards 😂
QueenJess, not usually a fan of whole meal bread but yours was delicious 😋 Nothing wrong with a bit of recluttering especially as you are doing it so consciously 😊 & considering each purchase before you commit 👏 Hopefully with your help (as you have a wealth of experience to offer) your neighbour will find the decluttering process far less stressful than doing it on her own 🙏 Good luck to both of you 🍀
Nice to see you Mrs_Money_Penny 👋 Still motoring along with some excellent decluttering 👏 A Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way for breaking through the 10,000 mark 🙂
Excellent work sorting & wrapping all your Christmas presents suzeesu2000 👏 A medal🏅 is on its way 🙂 I am also sending a medal 🏅to your husband - what a lovely man 😊
Florenceem, another very busy Wednesday 👏 & a great relief for you after last Wednesday 😮💨 Pleased to hear that you had some help re the ransacked crate 🙂 & also very pleased that MrF is making the effort to come downstairs to eat his meals 😊 Sending healing vibes & gentle cwtches (with your permission) 🤗 More excellent work with the sales on V 👏
Deni_debt-free_dreamer, what a marvellous Wednesday or should that be WW - Wonderful Wednesday 😊 Congratulations on decluttering your FT job 🥳 Some great decluttering 👏 I hope the weather is staying dry so that you can enjoy your new garden 😊
vulpix, sounds like a lovely visit even if the cats were “unimpressed” with their space being invaded by sausage dogs 😅 Beautiful photo - what a view 🤩 I see you completed a sneaky little project 😉 Great work selling the lo items from the craft stall 👏 Good luck with the fund raising for the new community centre 🍀
Liverpool_Anne, I do hope you are feeling better today 🙏 Even though you were feeling unwell yesterday you still got more done than I did 😉 That is cold 🥶 Watching the birds in the garden is so uplifting 😊 Our robin is back & I have been enjoying watching the tits eating from this feeder - see below
Good luck tackling your To Do list 🍀 More lovely cheerleading 😊 are you sure you don’t want to take over 🤣 only joking 🙃
Ta da, all done 🙂 It is still dry & bright & the temperature has climbed to 5°C. I had a short chat neighbour J - way too cold for a longer one 😉 I do hope everyone is having as good a day as possible & managing to stay warm 😊 See you later when hopefully I will have something, anything to report by way of decluttering or housework 😉

Busy morning here after getting up at 8.15 - I didn't set my phone alarm properly so just woke up normally.
Cold but dry and sunny here.
Mr F is about the same but this is a strong infection so won't vanish quickly.
I ironed and debobbled clothes for V - it is amazing how much a tiny debobbler removes from a garment to get them looking good again.
I took photos - much better light today.
Wrapped and labelled parcels in between looking after Mr F. I did 12,000 steps yesterday - up to nearly 8,000 at the moment.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Just been reading along and noting how busy people are being. Just decluttered my guests at Paddington as they head to Heathrow and home to US tomorrow early. Absolute wonderful few days, we've know each other since we were babies and so like family. Her ds2 who are with her couldn't t believe how similar we are.
Will update on decluttering but talked through a few things that can go and a good dry run for having friends who aren't used to be in a muddle!

Thanks MrsSD for my gold star!
Today has been both productive and lazy lol. Have sorted out some bits in Mum’s room to go to the tip including bagging up all of the clothes from the drawers for DSIL1 and breaking the COD down. I have to wipe a couple of laptops that I want to take there tomorrow and help DB1 sort out a loads of boxes (which will go out for recycling next week as not enough space in the car now) and sort out electricals and a load of stuff that will need to be shredded. We’ll do this after dinner while watching the last two episodes of a series we’ve been watching. Have had to do the stuff up in mum’s room gently, as my energy levels are very low today and it was difficult mentally bagging up the clothes. Have also sorted a set of suitcases which we’ll offer to the charity bit at the tip if they want it, as I have my own set of cases and none of my brothers are interested. All this has made a little bit of extra room in Mum’s room, but there is such a ridiculous amount to go through.
DB1 is away from Saturday afternoon until Wednesday, although I’m back to work on Monday part time (I’ve been signed off the last few weeks as I got to the point I couldn’t cope with everything a few weeks ago). I’m hoping to go through some bits of mine, tidy and reorganise and just keep trying to make bits of space. Mum was also having an issue with her sewing machine shortly before she passed so I might have a look and see if I can work out what the issue was, and possibly see whether my eldest niece would like it, as she is interested in all things craft-related. Also planning on watching some of my favourite show on tv as DB1 does not like it so it’s a good opportunity.I’m disappearing into the TLC carriage to try to recover some energy. Sending hugs to all who need them at the moment.14 -
Hi chums, decluttered some Christmas cards to cousins in Australia, niece in Mexico, cousin in Winnipeg and eldest grandson in New York .My far flung relatives will hopefully get their cards before Christmas ,my niece in Mexico once got her birthday (which was yesterday) and her Christmas card in mid January Her birthday card now goes mid October to get there. Postal services in Mexico are notoriously bad.
Sorted out eldest DDs birthday card for next Monday, and DGS 16th Dec and youngest DDs birthday 19th Dec card all three in December ! ! I also have one of my oldest friends birthdays next week to post tomorrow.
This afternoon I had a cardio appointment at the local hospital to have a BP monitor fitted for a 24 Hour check
.Not a lot of sleep tonight as it goes off every thirty minutesI've had one before, and I really end up so tired as it wakes me up
I have an appointment at the Lymphoedema clinic tomorrow at 1.00 then I have to return the BP monitor to the hospital at 3.30 so tomorrow will be a lot of too-ing and fro-ing
Then a couple of weeks respite then an ECG Monitor for 72 hours on the 19th December I shall be like wonder woman once they have finished with all the tests, and poking and prodding. But I suppose its better than getting poorly as I was this time last year.
Electrician is coming tomorrow to look at installing a better lighting system in the conservatory.
Also the handy man who is installing the mantlepiece in DDs sitting room, she's never ever had one in any of her homes since she grew up, so we bought a stove type electric fire with a flame effect and a mantlepiece and she's so chuffed. She's even bought a clock to sit on her mantlepiece
If it keeps her happy then I'm happy as well.
Hope everyone is OK and MrF is getting better and Florenceem slows down a bit I'm exhausted just reading her missives

I popped into town before lunch - had to queue in the post office to post 1 parcel.
Still no spray starch in Save.. - I found an assistant who has put in an order but no guarantees of it coming in.
I took a bag of stuff to the charity shop - when I gave our name for gift aid - and they said we normally see your husband - told them he is not well - all sending best wishes.
I posted 9 parcels at the in-post shop.
I popped into the community shop - my Ddil was in there so we had a chat.
I went in SA as there were donations outside - no staff in today. I sorted 6 bags of donations and a few bits to take home for V. I got called to the side door by the mental health group who use the building on a Thursday - there was an old chap with a money donation.
I went back to sorting to be interrupted again by a man giving me a coat that was taken into a dry cleaners in January - meant to be collected February and not been.
Back to sorting then another person came to the door - he had donations and a cheque so I unlocked the office to get the receipt book. I eventually got away from SA to get home for a late lunch with Mr F.
More sales on V so wrapping had to be done.
I have advertised on social media this evening - last table top sale until the end of February.
Mr F came downstairs for his dinner but went straight back up again - he is only comfy in bed with his legs on two pillows.
Sales today - £24.50.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
