Yesterday evening I couldn't think of what I had achieved during the day and felt a bit flat about it.
I had removed the hard back autobiography books that DH had read and does not wish to re read them. They weighed a ton. 4 boxes and a bundle of Christmas decorations vintage and modern which I have donated to the local grammar school as they are doing different themes in various parts of the school. The lady was very excited about it and has promised to send me some pictures when done. Sorted some other stuff in the loft into better like with like places which reduced another box and some jewellery to come downstairs again to go with like with like as it is some of the many bits of mums collection. Moved around the boxes on the storage unit which has made more space and light. There are 2 plastic boxes of wrapping paper currently stored under the bed for no actual reason to go up onto the space on top of the storage unit.
Decluttered empty glass jar of contents for tea from cupboard to recycle.
Had 2 unexpected friend visitors in the afternoon which was nice even in the condition the house is in at the moment, it is what it is. Perfect reason for the disorganisation and mess
Parcelled up 2 sold items and the reused packaging to go with them. Another 1 packed up this morning too.
7 more sleeps before I go on holiday with the ladies
Have some more successes this week all.

What have I done? Only said I would lay the carpet tiles in the studio today. I have been threatening to do this for about 2 years. I will start under the desk and then move everything to one side, lay the tiles and move everything over from the other side. Sounds simple. Mr V is in there already having a preliminary sort out. The studio is still yet to receive the attention the storage shed got last week. If I go now I can at least get some done before lunch.
Mr V has shot himself in the foot with leaf clearing, he has done a perfect job. Of course more leaves have fallen since but not many more to fall now.
Bon voyage LiverpoolAnne.x

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Monday was a damp, dark day. It had been raining & it rained on & off all day. I was up @ 09:30 & the first wash load is in. I am hoping to do better at staying awake today 😉 Most of first load now tumble drying - no point in trying to dry outside. All dried & folded & 2nd load of washing is in.
Brie, fingers crossed that your OH did flatten & put all the coke boxes in the wheelie bin 🤞I empathise as my DH is also a bit hit & miss when it comes to disposing of packaging 🙁 Excellent work getting the holiday clutter tidied away 👏 Just in time for Christmas clutter - I really am joking 🙃😂 Good luck with Project Book Cull 🍀
nannywindow, so sorry to hear about the “agonising pain down your leg” 😔 Please, please stop being so stoic & do try & get some proper relief 🙏🙏 Also sorry to hear about your Dad 😔 Fingers crossed it isn’t dementia & he is just being more cantankerous than usual 🤞Well done to your DH 😇 Great decluttering 👏 Is there another cs that might take the books?
London_1, I think the shelves on the middle landing were definitely a major bonus for a bibliophile such as yourself 😔 Pleased to hear that you managed to buy some warmer clothes to start topping up your wardrobe 😊
Excellent decluttering diminua 👏 I especially liked this “I did my best to like the jumper, even sewing some extra buttons on to stop the silly floppy sleeves from irritating me, but it's neither warm nor looks good, so it's gone.” 🙂 Making such decisions means reaching your target should be a doddle 😊
Muddy_Walker, sounds like a wonderful weekend 😊 & this “Whilst unpacking I said when did the volume of alcohol get swapped for the volume of medication????” had me laughing like a loon 🤣 Very well done on deciding “not do All The Things …….” 👏 Time to give someone else a chance 😅 Pleased to hear that your Mum is healing well 😊 now you just need to get rid of your cold
Excellent work TC77 👏 Good luck with the van & finding room for your dad’s furniture 🍀
Florenceem, a very busy Sunday 👏 Sorry to hear that MrF is giving you cause for concern 😔 Hopefully you can get an early appointment with the doctor & get a diagnosis quickly with appropriate treatment 🙏 More excellent V sales 👏
Liverpool_Anne, a busy weekend & I admire your restraint at the Craft Fair 👏 Hope you have a lovely break & that you do manage to chat to your niece 🤞
2Scratters, after remembering all that you did on Sunday, I do hope you went from “feeling flat” to floating on air 🤩 Talk about working hard 👏 Not only some excellent decluttering but also great work organising & putting ‘like with like 👏 I am so impressed that I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ Sounds like you are really looking forward to your holiday & soon it will only be 6 sleeps 😊
vulpix, I do hope that you managed to lay the carpet tiles in the office today 🤞As to leaf sweeping, I think that this task should be delegated to MrV on a permanent basis 🤣
Most of the 2nd load of washing is now tumble drying. Dinner is going to be fried chicken, boiled potatoes & peas. I did manage to do better at staying awake & am getting on quite well with knitting the scarf. However I nodded off several times during the last couple of hours.
Hope everyone has had as good a day as possible 😊

Hello lovelies,
Big hugs to all that need them xx
Finally got to the CS, had 6 bags and a new duvet. (stupidly bought, in early summer a single duvet ready for D2 when he went to uni.) Got up there in September only to find it was a double and really not v good quality and way to late to return it, so it's been sitting in the hall sInce sept!! But no longer!!
Also added about another 12 books to go.
Did a few other things whilst out and DS1 took me out for lunch which was the first time he's ever been able to do it!!
Came home and rested this afternoon inbetween making a beef stew! Yum!

⭐My rambling savings Diary ~⭐16 -
Had a lie in - think Mr F wouldn't have got up then if I hadn't.
I did sorting and ironing for V and took photos. By this time - Mr F had been up for 3 and a half hours - wasn't dressed - had only made some cups of tea, had his breakfast and spent half an hour in the bathroom. I don't think he would have come out of the bathroom then if I hadn't said that I needed the door open for light to take photos on the landing.
Mr F is going vacant and zoning out. I had lunch and went out - 1.30 - he was just getting dressed - I wrote a list of jobs for him - thought it may motivate him to get on..
I carried a heavy parcel into town to find that the posting system for V was down. I carried the parcel back to SA which is on the way home and left it there in the office. Loads of bags of donations outside SA so I stayed and sorted 10 sacks to put out in the storage crates. I needed time away from Mr F - it is very hard at the moment.
I was out nearly 2 hours - returned to find Mr F hadn't had his lunch. He had done one item on the list. I just keep finding him standing around. Mr F did say that he admits that he is not well so at least we are getting somewhere.
Our neighbour locked herself out again today so came for the spare keys.
I wrapped parcels and labelled ready to take into town tomorrow - I will phone the shop first to check that the system is back up and running.
There was a service at SA tonight - 1000 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.
I had sales on V of £27 yesterday.

Florenceem it really sounds like he needs to see a Dr my dear for both your sakes xx
Went to Newport today, and bought a nice pair of supersoft jeans, plus some soft top grip socks, (my circulation isn't very good) and someone underwear.
I had a a 15% discount via my Sparks card so managed to get £6.10 reduction from my bill which was a nice bonus, plus I've dropped another size which was even better.
I suppose decluttering unneeded weight is still decluttering
.
Just got back home before the rain started to bucket down, but golly its getting very wintery now.Have to start wearing a coat to go out in from now on I think.
Tomorrow its forecast rain, so I'm staying indoors and will be having a pottering day as I want to sort out what stuff I shall be moving downstairs to my new sitting room
Hope everyone os safe and warm and dry and not too bothered about the snow. I must admit I only like snow on Christmas cards as I tend to stay indoors when the weather is bad as my mobility isn't brilliant in snow or ice, and I see no point in having a fall and cluttering up a hospital bed unnecessarily
Cheers JackieO xxx17 -
OMG got up to a whiteout this am. According to the forecast it wasn’t supposed to get to the midlands. Deffo not going out if I can avoid it. Should be gone by this evening🤞. Well done @London_1 on your discount and declutterring some weight. That’s my next task. It’s that much harder to lose weight in the winter. I’m with you on the snow being strictly for Christmas cards ☃️. Oh dear @Florenceem how worrying for you. Maybe now MrF is admitting to feeling unwell could be time for GP. I’m sure he is as scared as you are. Positive thoughts for you both. Not much achieved yesterday. Declutterred half a book and some of DH’s hair, but that was about it. My get up and go has got up and gone! Am going in search of it after a fortifying coffee. Have a good day everyone. Stay safe and warm16

Had a bad night here. I went to bed at 12 and Mr F was meant to follow me. I woke at 4.30 to find him sitting on the edge of the bed leaning forward - half undressed. He was very cold as the heating was off. I told him to finish taking his socks of and get into bed - he carried on sitting and fiddling with his feet. I had to get up and almost push him into bed.
After that I couldn't get back to sleep - think I dozed off at 6.40 and the alarm went off an hour later so I could phone the surgery at 8. I phoned and was no 22 in the queue - took over 40 minutes to work up to no 1. Then I got a stroppy receptionist - by this time - I was tired and in no mood for nonsense. She offered me the last available appointment for the day at 9.40 I was thinking - will I be able to get him there for that time.
I phoned the local taxi office to ask what time to book one for a 9.40 appt - she said 9.10 as taxis are all over the place after school runs. No way would I get Mr F ready for 9.10. So I phoned C who came at 9.25 - it was pouring - we usually either walk or get a bus to the surgery.
C was surprised that I had managed to get an appt - I told him - there was no way they were going to refuse me. We were with the Dr for 20 minutes. Dr has increased his night meds - I showed Dr a video from last time Mr F was Catatonic. When Dr asked Mr F how he was - he said fine!
Dr told us that Mr F could have a blood test today at the surgery rather than trudge to the hospital. When I went to the reception desk with the form - I was told - no we can't do it - you will have to go to the hospital. Apparently there was only one nurse taking blood today and you usually have an appt to get it done. I stood my ground and insisted that it was being done there as the Dr had requested it. Off the receptionist went and came back to say - the nurse will fit you in - we only had to wait about 10 minutes. I am always assertive but never rude or raise my voice and of course I don't swear.
