I had a day indoors for a change.
I have been ironing, sorting and taking photos for V. Then it was on to wrapping and labelling parcels. I was going to take the parcels but Mr F said that he would.
Mr F was very slow this morning - slipped off the bed three times while putting on his compression stockings. As the day went on - he improved and has been eating and drinking normally.
I text C about the food delivery tonight but we were not needed.
I have lots of items ready to list on V so must crack on before I head for a shower.

TC77, that is a very good idea to ask your Aunt to identify people in old photos.
LiverpoolAnne the lakes will be beautiful in the snow and lush to use a hot tub in the snow.Enjoy. As for your neighbours fire I would be so upset about the dog too
What a fabulous knitting legacy London 1.
Dropped the bag of clothes at the charity shop and bought a linen jacket for £1. For fantasy me I imagine.
My lurgy has reappeared, sore throat and earache.
We have heavy snow forecast next week. I love it. We don't get much snow in recent decades, nor does it get as cold as it was when I was younger, just endless rain these days. Dreary.

5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Saturday: I was up late again - just gone 13:00 to a dark dreary day with a high of 11°C. I spent the day knitting + tackled a bit more paperwork. DH watched the MotoGP qualifying races - last races of the season are tomorrow. He filled the bird feeders & also fed the worms. Dinner was home cooked fish’n’chips. Wudupa.
83 - 88 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, 0.5” paperwork, 3 cardboard boxes - recycled
89 - 90 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
Duchess2, sorry to hear that your friend’s son was so poorly that he needed to be picked up 😔 I do hope he is recovering 🙏
basketcase, you are most welcome 😊 This “Glad you enjoyed reading about my ironing - I certainly enjoy writing about it far more than doing it! 🤣” has had me chuckling 🤭 Excellent decluttering & dealing with admin tasks 👏 Good luck getting back on track with your ‘no spend days’ 🍀
vulpix, sorry to hear that you are still feeling ‘slightly delicate’ 😔 Please take it easy for the rest of the weekend 🙏 Hopefully your mojo will put in an appearance 😉 Good work reducing both your wrapping paper & gift bags stashes 👏
Liverpool_Anne, any chance of putting the heating on timer? We have been putting on the the heating for 45 minutes in the early evening which is working so far 🙂 Our bedroom radiators are switched off as none of us can sleep if we are too hot. Pleased to hear that you are on the mend 😊 just in time for your mini break 🥳 Some great decluttering & completion of tasks 👏 Lovely cheerleading 😊 Although I was very sad to read about ln’s poor dog 😢
short_bird, I reckon next year they will construct the Christmas Fair in September & open on the 1st of October 😉 Looking forward to seeing your numbers 😊
London_1, how exciting - the building work is almost complete & you will soon be ensconced in your new sitting room 🤩 Thank you for the pattern for the blanket that might very well be my next project 😉 Now I just need to find someone with 5 big black plastic sacks of brightly coloured yarn that they are happy to donate to me 😅
Just noticed the time so I am off to bed 🙂 Sleep tight 😴

Many thanks for everyone's best wishes and thoughts along the way. I will only post occasionally until new internet sorted as using data on my phone.
We ended up with 109 boxes and 28 bags plus a plethora of random stuff. A big thumbs up for the removal company who did a fantastic job. We ended up completing on sale at about 11am but it is was 3.15 pm before the purchase completed. We had to continually chase our solicitor all afternoon. Sad to see the old house empty but a new adventure awaits. It was 7.30 before vans were emptied and movers were working in the dark. New place needs more airing but much nicer now heating has been on a few days and DD and I slept well. Largest bedroom is currently the room of doom where all the boxes went but we managed to spend an hour going through it last night and just have numbered boxes etc round walls and in the fitted wardrobes. Bedroom 2 all set up for me to sleep and my clothes mostly put away. Bedroom 3 also set up. Yesterday's big job was the kitchen/dining room with help from DD, DS2 and DIL everything was emptied out of boxes and put away - at least 50 items went into rubbish, recycling or CS piles. DGS4 had a great time sorting all the stuff left on the lawn and put his little pond out (I had to dismantle it). He was then delighted to see a small frog.
Living room looks nice and will probably be the last to need decorating. DS2 fixed bookshelves to the wall so the boxes piled up in the corner (mostly books) can be emptied today. Box numbering was a great help and we think we are missing 2 which should be in house and are probably in garage. Only casualty is large modern oak wardrobe which they just couldn't get in house at all. It does not come apart. In garage so will try to sell.
1555 Final packing tally 109 boxes and 28 bags
1556 Toaster to electric recycling
1557 Broken fireguard binned
1558 Chipped crockery binned
1559 Three bags of stuff from old house binned
1560 Random things to electric recycling
1561 Damaged extension lead out (We still have 26)
1562 Keys to Estate Agents
1563-1612 At least 50 things from kitchen boxes binned, recycled to CS bag
1613 TV to electric recycling
1614 Car load of rubbish to tip
1615 Horrible shelf eventually taken off new hall wall and binned - it fought back
1616 Bundle of curtains found in cupboard to CS shop- still in cleaners bags
1617 Bundle of extra door keys delivered back to old house
1618 Tin recycling bin returned to old house - movers used it to move garden stuff.
We also found a safe (empty) and enough light bulbs to stock a shop yesterday in a cupboard. A busy week ahead. DD can stay until Tuesday morning when she has a meeting nearer to me than her own home so going straight from here. Working my way through a long list of changes of address. I will catch up on posts as soon as I can.

@London_1 lovely to hear your building works are coming to an end. You will soon be surrounded by the items you hold dear and nice and cosy for the winter. @GrannyKate so pleased your move went well if somewhat later than planned. At least the stressful stuff is mostly done now and you can have fun nesting. @Florenceem it seems there is a little chink of light for MrF. I do hope all goes well for him. Thanks for the support as always @Mrs SD. What a miserable day yesterday. Washed a KS duvet. Much wrestling and fighting back but it’s on the clothes horse!! In the process of looking for something I sorted quite a bit of paperwork and filled a bag for burning. Little victories. Get well messages and virtual hugs for those in need. Have a fantastic Sunday everyone14

@GrannyKate Well done on the move and sorting out so much already.
I can imagine moving and unpacking as I need things and finding most still in boxes later.
Vulpix , I took envelopes of photos when I met my cousins on the other side ( both older by 5/8 years) so remembered some people I didn't and realise we have dozens of photos of one uncle and aunt, offering them to the appropriate cousin as only need a few. Feels awful throwing away photos but cannot see the point of keeping photos of people I don't know and aren't good photos. But photos will be a 2025 project at least but have pencil writings on the back.
When my heating is on u can't turn off radiators in big sitting room ( I don't use ) and dd2 bedroom ( the largest) and 2 visits by heating engineer have made worse! 3rd visit planned for tomorrow, a part is needed.
Too many other frogs but will keep chipping away. Still sorting out about car insurance refund as haven't had car for 5 months and trying to help dd1 with her claim for accident whixh meant she had to take most of a year off uni take more loan and pay more interest.16 -
@GrannyKate - fantastic news that you are finally in! What a palaver you had to go through though. Wishing you every happiness in your new home 😊
@Liverpool_Anne - the dog and the fire story was tragic. I am paranoid with such things and won’t leave dogs on their own with any kind appliance running or the boiler on. Also, not shut in a room or crate so they can move out of danger if needed.I had a good old declutter and deep clean of the sitting room yesterday. Not much to throw away as I have been keeping on top of that but some items relocated elsewhere. Bedding washed but resorted to the tumble dryer as it is hanging damp in my garden with the air so still.14 -
@GrannyKate finally in....👏👏👏
Well done!15 -
Granny Kate, great news that your move has happened and you are settling into your new place.
Florenceem, fingers crossed that Mr F is just having a blip and recovers quickly.
Hugs to anyone else who would like them.
I have a full day today without OH around and have a list that is impossible to fully achieve. Biggest priority is to tidy living room, hallway and kitchen and a bit of cleaning once tidy. Cleaning shouldn’t take long as it’s only a small space. Successes in the kitchen this week with some spice jars finally uu, however there are plenty more of those to get through. Will continue to use as much of them as possible in day to day cooking plus more batch cooking for freezer when space allows.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅16
