Florenceem, I am pleased to hear that Mr F was a little better on Saturday afternoon. I would still get a GP appointment though just to be on the safe side. xx
Granny Kate, at last! and your family have come up trumps helping you unpack.
TC77, a very good idea to distribute photos to people. My Mum has been doing this. I imagine physical photos will be a complete rarity in 50 years time.
Shock, Mr V has been outside in the rain sweeping leaves for the past hour. He doesn't do "outside". He is a city boy.
I am still in bed and will shortly read in the bath for ages.
Vx

OH took my hint the other day and has (he says....should I check?) decluttered his Coke boxes from the garage. He has a habit of emptying the coke into the garage fridge and then just dropping the box in the vicinity of a much too small bin in there. Why? Who knows. I certainly don't. I understand flattening them, putting them in the little bin and when full emptying that into the recycling but otherwise?????
Anyways I've managed to move all the holiday stuff that got left in the dining room into their various right places, and hoovered my office/art room including removing any dust bats I could see. Tidied my desk and binned most of what was cluttering it.
Part of the holiday clutter was a annotated copy of Pride and Prejudice I'd started reading on a previous holiday having found it in the library of the German hotel we were staying in. Needless to say I've read it more than once but generally enjoy it and gained a bit from looking at some of the footnotes. And as always I'm a bit flummoxed by the idea that someone realises they are in love with someone who is filthy rich when they see the size of their huge estate. Seems a bit jaded to me. Anyways - the book is in the dispose pile as I've finished it (again). Interestingly OH has also suggested we need to remove some of the book in the garage. It's lined with book shelves but there's too many books (& other tat) to find things easily. I'd love to get rid of about half and expect that will take us until this time next year if we do 1 large box a week. Hello all, I'm 30 pages behind again 😧. I have been in the TLC carriage for the last couple of weeks with an agonising pain down my leg. I think it may be my meds causing it so this week I have to do something about it.
My Dad is taking up a lot of our time too, his memory is worse since his stroke and I worry that he has the start of dementia. He is 95 now and has had his driving licence revoked so is stuck in the house. We are doing everything we can to help him but when he throws every idea back in your face I want to just walk away for my own sanity 😥. Thank goodness for DH who has been wonderful and is much more patient than I am.
Not a lot of stuff has gone out lately but I did bin a stick blender that had cracked, sad really as I've had it a long time probably over 20 years. DH has a new 3D printer so he recycled a CD/ computer disc holder and some other bits and bobs from the office.
Today I received a delivery of bulk coffee, our only vice nowadays, so the packaging and the box has been recycled. I've also read another book and put it in the cs bag although the cs are not accepting books at present. I wish I knew someone who reads so I could pass them on as I have about 15 now.
Tea tonight will be leftover lamb hot pot, waste not want not plus it's delicious.
Grannykate glad you're in at last.
Florenceem hope Mr F is ok.
Hugs to anyone in need. nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently16 -
When we moved to our house in July the previous owner had left in situ some lovely fitted shelves. The staircase goes up 6 steps to a landing then turns fir the next 6 to the upstairs landing The middle landing in the wall is where the book shelves are situated which was great as I’m a bit of a bookaholic and can’t resist them at times so there are five lang shelves about 6-7 foot across the middle landing stuffed with my books that I brought with me. I also have stashed there about a dozen as yet not done jigsaws for the coming winter. Plus cookery books (although I have donated a few to my grandsons) so what I’ve been doing as they get read apart from ones I just can’t part with My Alan Bennett books and my favourite KenFollett books the paperback once read go into a bag and get donated to a charity shop so the roughly hundred or so I brought with me are slowly being whittled down
I’m dreadful when it comes to books even with what I have indoors I still get books from the library as well 🤣 to me a good read is essential for a happy me 🤣 picked up the last Mo Hayder book ‘ Bonehead’ from the library yesterday on the way to the hairdressers and I’m halfway through it already 👍 it will be finished by tomorrow if not tonight
Hope everyone has had a good weekend it’s definitely turning chillier this afternoon
picked up some warmer winter clothes yesterday in Sainsburys and I’m going for another mooch tomorrow to M&S for some Xmas gifts I think. DGS Jack is popping down for the weekend in a couple of weeks and will take my gt granddaughters presents back with him as he will see them before Christmas so can give them to my granddaughter to put away for them
decluttered some dried up spices from my box of herbs and spices I had
about 6 bottle of cinnamon and nutmeg to sadly bin as they were right at the bottom of a box which I’d packed and not checked when we moved here in July.
once the builders are finished we will be get properly unpacked as a lot of stuff is in the spare room piled up into unpacked boxes
GrannyKate it will seem never ending unpacking but I’m so glad it’s finally happened for you our move was stretched from February when I sold until 9th July with various hold ups but it’s worth it in the end
keep warm chums it’s going to get colder this week 🥶

Three books out (to the bookswap) and a jumper and belt to the clothes donation bins - I did my best to like the jumper, even sewing some extra buttons on to stop the silly floppy sleeves from irritating me, but it's neither warm nor looks good, so it's gone. The belt was only ever a stopgap until I got one I liked (which I did yonks ago).
Also a comb that broke in my hair - the handle snapped clean off. Oh well, I'll never go bald as my nan used to say (and she never did).
Just 10 things to go.

Hellooooo
We are back from a weekend away celebrating friends birthdays in a remote area in the Forest of Dean….and it was wonderful! Although we are all very surprised that it was a 60th birthday as we all still feel much younger. Whilst unpacking I said when did the volume of alcohol get swapped for the volume of medication???? Everyone agreed 🤣
one blip - we almost had to come back home as dog sitter (family member) didn’t get on well - we think they were too impatient and starting shouting and my dogs wouldn’t go anywhere near them but luckily brother in law stepped in last minute.I did a lot of thinking and re-evaluating while away and will be letting a lot of things go. Cadets definitely as I just can’t do it any more nor can I do the walking I used to. So I’ve decided to stop the monthly subscriptions and just keep a record of my miles and not a target.
and I’m going to try and slow down and not do All The Things …….
my cold is still hanging around! That’s 2 weeks now.Mum is healing well so that’s good news.
have a lovely evening xxxx⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

I always go off to Church before Mr F as he takes longer to get ready and I have jobs to do at SA before the service.
We had a guest leading the service today.
Mr F didn't turn up so I popped outside to see if he was coming along the road. My friend said to me - go home but I needed to stay until after singing group and the offering. I felt sorry for the speaker - I had been up and out to the door looking then I took my coat and bag and left. I got home to find Mr F on his hands and knees in the bedroom looking for his keys. He had a torch in his hand. I found the keys straight away - they had fallen over the back of the night table when he slipped off the bed the day before and banged into the unit.
So I set off to Church again - Mr F said he would come along at the end of the service. Lots of people were asking - is Mr F okay. Poor speaker - in I came took my coat off and sat down again. I spoke to the speaker after the service and explained the situation.
Mr F turned up as he said he would and helped me with clothes donations. He took filled bags out to the storage crate.
There was an afternoon meeting with the same guest speaker and members of other corps attending. Mr F came along late to that meeting.
We had refreshments and I popped out to see if the recycling hopper was jammed. The storage crate that Mr F had used was open and it was trying to rain. Mr F insisted that he closed it but nothing had been touched in the crate and no one else does the job so I think he didn't shut it. Then when we got home - instead of leaving two lights on - the outside one and the back room - he had left on the hall lights as well. So this is worrying me that he is forgetful.

Sunday was a bright sunny day with a forecast high of 11°C. Shock horror - I was up & dressed by 11:00 😮 Unfortunately getting up earlier than usual hasn’t worked particularly well as I have snoozed a lot 😉 Although I have done a bit of knitting & did a 5 minute stint of tidying up. Dinner was gammon shanks, chips & beans. Wudupa. It rained before midnight & we have had steady rain since 01:00 🙁
91 - 96 Office & kitchen recycling, cardboard box, 2 magazines, metal tin - recycled
97 - 99 Office & kitchen detritus, large bird food sack - binned

TC77, you have been busy 👏 Hopefully your aunt can identify the people in the photos 🤞 Yippee to DD2’s bedroom being finished 🥳
Florenceem, you might have spent Saturday indoors but you were still extremely busy 👏 Sorry to hear about MrF slipping off the bed 😔 I do hope he hasn’t hurt himself 🤞
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Fingers crossed that you get snow not sleet & that it is no deeper than 6” 🤞Just deep enough for a good covering but not so deep that it causes massive problems 🙏 Sorry to hear that the ‘lurgy’ has resurfaced 😔
Yippee to a successful move GrannyKate 🥳 Although I see that the solicitor remained inefficient to the end 😔 Wow you worked hard on Friday getting the bedrooms set up & even harder on Saturday sorting out the kitchen 🤩 I nearly fell off the sofa reading about how much you packed - 109 boxes & 28 bags 😥 Good luck with the unpacking 🍀 If you keep decluttering at the rate you have been whilst you are unpacking you will definitely hit your target 👏
Lovely post Duchess2 😊 Great work Saturday especially wrangling the KS duvet 👏
TC77, good luck with the photos 🍀 Sorry to hear about the issues with the heating 😔 Hopefully the engineer’s 3rd visit will be successful 🤞 Sending lots of positive vibes so that both insurance refund & accident claim will be sorted before Christmas 🙏
Excellent work in the sitting room Moorviews 👏
oceanspirit, hope you had a very successful Sunday 🤞I am just imagining how much more you got done without OH 😂
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Are you absolutely positive it was MrV sweeping up leaves 🙃😂
I am only a page behind now but my concentration is waning, so I will post & come back tomorrow. Sleep tight 😴

Hi all, just a quick post to catch up before I get weaving while I have my first cuppa
. Saturday was a bit of a wash out decluttering wise, I went to the craft fare at a local garden centre and saw lots of lovely things but I resisted most things as I was looking for presents and nothing struck me as suitable for people I was looking for. Lots of things I would have previously bought for me, especially a beautiful wooden Christmas tree but I said no, no, no
. When I have got things a lot more sorted out will be the time to think about bringing things in
. I did get 4 beautiful hand made cards for special people for Christmas. When I got home I had coffee over the fence with ln as I haven't seen her all week
. After tea I just did some crochet. The lr bin was emptied. Yesterday was a bit better in that I finally did a pile of ironing, but not all of it, enough to make a dent
. We did a sm shop for the stuff we need to take with us, picked up a few things for stocking fillers while there
. Everything except my meds, toiletries and chargers etc was packed and I emailed the holiday bumph to OH so it is easier to find on our phones if we need it, plus directions etc copied into a note book. I can never read those attachments on my phone.
I had a quick text conversation with my dniece who I thought was travelling back to Bequia but it turns out her DH has gone back and she is staying another week to sort out the snags so I will hopefully have a chat with her tomorrow if the reception is good enough and it also means she will be able to have a visit to my dsis on her birthday.
The bins will be emptied before I go and the wheelie will be put out for collection tomorrow.
I will try to keep up with posts on my phone
Right time to get moving. Hugs to everyone who would like one
1732 lr bin
1733 ironing
Take care everyone
1733/2024, will have to do better when I get back
