Hi, minus 1 atm, It has been minus 8. Not in a hurry to go to Buxton for yoga this morning, it will be colder there as its higher still.
Beautiful sunny and cold day yesterday for a trip to Llandudno. There was a hail storm and sheet lightening just as we left for home. I made several purchases, a new diary, some beads for a project and some wool. I am making my son a jumper and the other wool was half price and a nice colour! If you are a crafter, Abakhan has a website and a Sale and £1.99 postage offer on atm.
I was looking forward to an afternoon snuggled up and hand sewing but my help is needed to go and look at a new car. No interest to me... but I have worked my subliminal suggestion magic and it is a smaller engine and a physically smaller car. The car we have is beautiful but like driving an extremely comfortable HGV. I am terrified of trying to park it. What neither of us like about it is it is so clever it won't let you drive. Amongst it's foibles, It slams the brakes on if it thinks something is in the way eg trying to overtake a parked car or reversing past a wheelie bin or a pedestrian within half a mile! If you steer over the central line to overtake cyclists, it pulls you back in. Some of it's features can be turned off but not all.
Anyhow, it's nice to see everyone keeping at it. I heard something on telly last night. Unrelated to de cluttering but I thought apt. Progress not Perfection. I am a perfectionist and it sometimes holds me back and that's how I get frogs.
Well ! DD1 has just phoned, she travelled to Buxton for a meeting and when she got there it has been cancelled. She is taking a days leave and we are doing lunch. What an unexpected treat.

Just popping in to catch up. Not much decluttering here and more recluttering as I picked up some free books on Buy Nothing for DS and then bought a few more in a charity shop for birthday presents. I also picked up a nice picture for free, which in hindsight I have no idea where to put. I definitely want more pictures up, but not thought through where it should go and it's currently leaning against the wall in my library. Not that I particularly need to, but I am trying to use everything rather than declutter given my lack of impending finances. My job actually got extended to the end of the week now, so I have funds for a bit longer. It's pretty dead out there right now though, so it's more likely I'll pick up work in Jan.I have also now lost control of the fridge as well as the freezer, so I am on a using up mission in the fridge. Once I finish work, I will also brave the freezer reorganisation. I did use up some cotton wool balls that I'm really pleased about. I tried to give them away, but no one wanted them. So I've been using them to clean pierced ears and earrings and I've finally finished the bag. It's taken me almost 4 years
I love the new space in my bathroom drawer though. There's a few more things that also need using up there.

Whilst trying to look for a face mask to help in my lurgey recovery I made myself de clutter the bathroom cupboards, also in preparation for my new skincare and makeup treats which are on their way. I actually dread to think when some of the bathroom cupboards contents were purchased. Almost relics. DS1 always asks when the vix/antiseptic cream etc went out of date 😬 as I apply it to him. I will improve 🤞🏼 and enjoy the incoming goodies greatly!Emergency Fund: 1000/2000April Grocery Challenge: 150/550

Evening everyone
I've skim read about 30 pages - glad to hear you got moved @GrannyKate; @Florenceem, glad you got a Dr appt for Mr F. Hugs to all who need them.
I've done small decluttering efforts like sorting paperwork - shredding and recycling; plus I have a box of books for z!ffit and a bag for the CS but won't count them till they are out the house. I have been trying to be tidier and more organised so I have put all gift bags, boxes, ribbons etc in one tub and put all packaging in another tub. DD1 has sold a couple of my things on v!nted.
DD2 returned home from her travels! Lovely to see her but my heating and washing machine are working overtimeShe has helped with decluttering some books and some of her stuff from uni (she graduated 2.5 years ago....)

I was only thinking the other day that my second ever in all my life bag of cotton wool balls will see me out!
Gone, a bag of soft plastics and a cardigan given to DD1.
Mr V collecting the new car on Saturday, think rolling eyes emoji.
We are currently having a lot of snow.

My last post on here was just after lunch on Tuesday. Things have happened since - my GP phoned at 6 pm - there were 3 raised levels in the blood test. I needed to take Mr F to A & E - I asked about a letter to take with me - he said that he would do one but they shut at 6.30. I phoned my Dd but she was at school doing a parents evening. I managed to get a taxi and got to the surgery to get the letter. We were out of fruit so I walked home via ald. clutching apples/bananas/grapes - in my rush to go out - forgot a bag and refuse to buy plastic ones.
I packed medications/toothbrushes/toothpaste/phones/chargers etc as I thought it would be a long stay. Got a taxi to the hospital - it was heaving in the A & E waiting room - we arrived at 7.30 pm.
Eventually saw a Dr about midnight - she prescribed an antibiotic and arranged for someone from the mental health dept to come and chat. Bloke tuned up - was very nice but they wouldn't get involved while there was an infection as that could be the cause of strange behaviour.
Waiting room was clearing out - security carried out one chap who wanted to stay but had been ejected earlier. Trying to doze in a chair was difficult - I rolled up our coats and put my head on those as a pillow. Mr F was asleep sitting up.
They came round with sandwiches and tea at 3am.
Waiting room started to fill up again at 8am. Doctors change over was happening then.
We then saw a Dr who was very good - he ordered a chest xray, a head scan and an ultrasound of Mr F's leg in case of DVT. Amazing what the mention of having a daughter who is a hospital consultant gets you! This Dr was very attentive - kept me updated and said - for my daughter or I to ring him if we needed to.
Mr F's leg had swollen badly so we thought - Cellulitis. Mr F has not had Cellulitis for quite a few years. I usually spot it but he hadn't complained of a painful leg. Dr cancelled the prescribed antibiotics as not strong enough for such a bad infection. Mr F was given IV antibiotics and they took blood.
To be contd.....

Florenceem, I'm so sorry to hear that your husband is/has been in hospital, and wish him a speedy recovery from the infection, now that they've pumped IV antibiotics into him. I hope you are taking a break from your SA duties so that you can pay attention to MrF's needs, whilst also being mindful of your own need for breaks for food and rest. Prayers for you both.

Thursday: Good afternoon from a chilly (3°C) but dry & bright London. The td is on as I have had to wash the sofa throw as I spilt coffee on it last night 😔 DH has made soup - vegetable & chicken which smells delicious 😋 I have spent the afternoon knitting. As a nod to housework, I swept the kitchen floor 🤣 The knitting & sewing up is completed. Hat, wrist warmers & exceedingly long scarf are destined for my DSis as a Christmas present - her request 😊 Dinner was sausages, mash & baked beans. Wudupa.

florenceem take care of yourself as well as you are no good to anyone if you get ill too.
I agree re the v sales, you sound like you are doing two full time jobs between the sorting at the hall and all your other activities there plus basically running a shop from your house. It sounds like its a good money maker for the good causes so worthwhile carrying on but maybe needs formalised now. Perhaps it needs to be run more properly as a sideline from a room in the sa premises so your house can get back to being a house ready for mr f and you to have a sanctuary to return to rather than living in a little shop ? That way if you are unwell, need a break etc someone else can keep on top of the orders to go out ? They can't very well do that if its all in your home? Just a thought. I know you've been so busy 'doing' that you probably haven't had time to think. If you can take some time now- you know its working so get some written instructions, think of setting up a numerical system for tagging the clothes and the advert so it doesn't rely on you knowing what you've listed then it can be taken over in proper shifts rather than just you and mr f? Could be a proper training opportunity for folks wanting to get back into the workplace, your local jobcentre can help with that.
All just thoughts of top of my head but if you look at what you've done as a test, you've proven it keeps clothes out of landfill and brings in money.
