Helloooooo!
this past week and a bit has been utterly crazy 😜 I have decluttered very very little except my concept of time. Work had the monthly meeting on a completely different day of the week so all of us didn’t have a clue which day was what and what we were doing.
Hubby and me had an urgent call for help from family - putting up a relative plus pet (luckily dog2 fell in lurve with her 🤣) so have family member - FM - for a while. Relationship breakup and she threw FM out. A very long tale quite sad and I am utterly gobsmacked.
Anyway I have stuff everywhere plus a lovesick dog so that has been interesting and quite funny. A couple of accidents and the pet has discovered sticks….and loves chomping on sticks and hiding sticks….sticks are everywhere!
So keeping on top of sticks and floor cleaning….
It won’t be for long so not a problem.
I haven’t read any posts but I hope everyone is keeping well and safe xxxxx⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

Hello, hope everyone is enjoying the weather - well it’s been much better here today than the constant rain yesterday!
so I am not winning at the decluttering. Lots more in than out in the clothes dept.
LO has new school uniform PE kit the works as she seems to have grown a lot taller. I had to buy a new clothes rail for her as despite going through all her stuff, there is no way it will all fit on the one rail she has. I have 1 bag of her stuff for charity shop.
i have one bag of my stuff for charity shop and most of it is stuff I recently bought which speaks volumes about my poor choices recently. I have however treated myself to new lingerie and I need to buy some new clothes for work. I ordered some new shoes online so they should arrive next week.
i went through the pantry cupboard this morning and decluttered a few empty packets and boxes after putting the contents in jars. The alcohol shelf has been tidied so we can see what’s there.I found some cleaning products I didn’t know were in there so they are sorted and neat. A bit more organised now, but not much decluttered.
i have ordered food shopping to be delivered tomorrow, some fridge and cupboard essentials but I will need to go out for any meat and fish.Seems like I still have a lot to go through - toys, books, paperwork etc. I will try next week when LO has a sleepover so I have a free evening.
best wishes to all 😊16 -
I don't think I've posted here for a while. I have managed to get rid of some bits (mostly secondhand books read and taken to Wimbledon station bookswap) although a few have crept in as well. I did have to replace my curling tongs as the gas canisters are no longer made for the tongs I've had for years. (I have curly hair, and sometimes like to curl the front a bit extra to make it look more structured and less dragged-through-a-hedge-backwards). I found a secondhand pair off the bay which are hot pink to match my little hairdryer (which I rarely use either, but it's nice to have the option) and are electric, so on the whole I'm not displeased.
My uncle also kindly gave me a record player which he'd fixed up, but my brother has started wine making again so that's two demijohns out (and which will come back in with chilli or cherry or blackcurrant wine which I tend to treat like pimms and mix in with lemonade or just fizzy water).
Anyway after counting the ins and outs I have 25 more out than in, and with 27 to go to meet my target of 52 I think it's doable if I can keep reading and discarding secondhand books without picking up any more and stay away from clothes and stationery. Fingers crossed.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining

6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday has been a lovely day - bright & dry but not as warm as I would like 😉 I spent the rest of the afternoon reading magazines & knitting. DH had more success with the milk in A..a - 8 cartons 🙂 I have done all the prep for dinner so will be starting the cooking shortly.
Lovely post Liverpool_Anne 😊 Well done on dealing with the apples 👏 Sounds like you are filling up your freezer nicely 😊 Thank heavens your DNiece stayed safe & there was less damage than feared 😮💨 Not sure I could have coped without power for 10 days 😥 Fingers crossed that her house purchase goes through without a hitch 🤞
Excellent work QueenJess 👏 Well done on keeping up with your 10 a day target + the cleaning & tidying 👏 Hopefully DH has noticed & commented & will be on board with tidying up after himself rather than leaving it all to you 😉 I am keeping everything crossed that your parents bring nothing but themselves tomorrow 🤞🙏 I know, I know I am sure I am being over optimistic 😂
Nice to see you oceanspirit 👋 You have been busy with some excellent decluttering & great work in the bedroom 👏 Good luck reducing the pile of books 🍀
Excellent decluttering Rootle 👏
Hi MuddyWalker, nice to see you 👋 I think companies change meeting days just for the fun of it 😅 I hope you managed to get back on track with the days of the week 😉 Sorry to hear about FM but very kind of you to take FM & pet into your home 😊 Hope FM is OK 🙏 As to pet hiding sticks everywhere, please can you keep us up to date with the most unusual places 😉 It brought a smile to my face just imagining hiding places 😁
Floss, well done in getting to work so quickly 😊 I hope you didn’t break any speed limits 😉
Excellent decluttering Brie especially the slug 👏 I love the idea of ‘shrieking manfully’ 😂
I broke off to cook & eat dinner 😉 Shepherds pie with green beans. The 3 of us have come to the conclusion that we much prefer cottage pie so it was a good job I used up all the lamb mince from the freezer 😉 There is a large portion of shepherds pie left which I will probably have for my dinner tomorrow 🤔 Wudupa.
1410 - 1411 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
1412 Kitchen detritus binned
Now to complete the cheerleading 😉
Nice to see you D123456789 👋 Hopefully now that school clothing for LO has been purchased, there will be less coming in than going out 🙏 You have managed a decent amount of decluttering & some good work sorting & tidying in the kitchen 👏 Good luck with the toys, books & paperwork 🍀
Lovely to see you diminua 👋 Hopefully you can resist the temptation to bring in more books 😉 Looking at your figures, I can see that I owe you a Gold Star ⭐️ which is on its way 😊 A second star will be forthcoming when you declutter one more item & stand at 26/26 😉
All caught up at last, so I will post & head to bed. Sleep tight everyone 😴

Floss said:I think you can freeze spinach in its bags, so maybe buy a few to freeze and use from frozen? They wouldn't take up much space either 😉
I've also seen frozen "smoothie bags" so maybe your fruit could be frozen too?
Cleaned half a kitchen shelf yesterday - 1 1/2 to go in that unit. Sorted out the order of tinned beans and lentils for using. Just a few 2024s to go now, so should be using 2025s before the year is out. Have started on the dried stocks and made a lentil stew which has gone in the freezer. Have rather a large stock of spices which I want to use quickly as I prefer these to be as fresh as possible.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅12 -
Wee Nancy, what a shame about Di's op. When you and she were all psyched up and organised for it and then cancelled if for a good reason. I hope she doesn't have to wait too long for it to be rescheduled.
Rootle, how are you finding the OU? My son keeps badgering me to do a degree. Just to keep me occupied I think! Might be cheaper than house renovation. 🤣
So, the cheeky woman turned up to view the house 2 1/2 hours early !!!!!!!!!!!!!! "hope you don't mind " well, yes actually I do mind. Lucky I was dressed. No hoovering done and bits of carpet everywhere from putting the off cuts in the loft.
Go on Mrs SD where is the degree button then ? I find motorways very boring and sometimes persuade Mr V to use A and B roads. Much more interesting.
Muddy, well done to you for helping out your fm, and being able to accommodate them, and a dog, and sticks. 😁
Brie, argggggggh, I am cringing, I cannot cope with slugs, ever since standing on one with bare feet. You are so brave.
Nice to catch up with everyone's news. Apologies if not true but I assumed lookbook was Al.
The viewer turning up early did mean that I could spend the afternoon making the mouse a mattress, pillow and quilt for his box. I also did a bit of cross stitch on a Noah's Ark kit I got ages ago, unopened for £1. Although I have done quite a lot of the animals, I am not feeling all the shades of brown for the Ark so it will be going to the charity shop next week. I only bought it because it had all the silks and was unopened. Lesson to be learned there. It's not a bargain if you only buy it cos it's cheap and you wouldn't want it at full price.
Mr V is working all week doing holiday cover. It will be gentle gardening for me today. I am also going to pot some bits of my favourite plants up to take with me. Some parts of them have moved 6 times. They are populating the High Peak one garden at a time. 🌿

Hi Chums ,sorry for being MIA been so busy with grandsons and sorting bits out still. actually got a tip run today The local council tip is brilliant and I logged on theis morning and snaffled a 12.15 spot. You get 15 minutes and its more than enough. Here on the Island you have one week for recycling collections then the following week for general rubbish so the bins have to last two weeks OK when there is just three of you but with visitors you obviously have more rubbish.
So the remaining grandson who is still with us has been put to work sorting out stuff for the tip including two bags of recycling.
He's been a great help and bless him has been so useful to have around I shall miss him when he goes back to London this Friday. But he said he will be back at half term in October.
Yesterday there was a big scooter rally at Ryde and it all went off without a hitch no trouble at all and everyone seemed to have a great time 10K scooters had a big rally and everyone enjoyed the day and there is rarely any trouble at all. Sadly unlike Notting Hill which seems to attract the bad lads who want to cause trouble16 -

Perhaps we can arrange something?11 -
All yours if you want it. I have done a lot of the little animals in the border. Pm your address and I can pop it in the post. 😁
