Well, ever since our internet was " upgraded" a few weeks ago it has been appalling. I couldn't get on at all yesterday.
Well done in finding a home for your table cloths Gers. I eventually gave the ones my Mum, Nana and Great Aunt did to the charity shop. Don't feel guilty though, someone who wanted them will have bought them. I had been the custodian of them for 40 years.
My next problem is an almost finished quilt my Mum has done. I haven't even unfolded it and I have had it months. Anyone want it? It's hand sewn hexies with navy blue infill.
Liverpool Anne, urgh to sleepless nights, I am prone to them occasionally. Grim.
Mrs SD, I actually had no clue how to find the degree symbol. I am totally ignorant in the ways of type writers and computers. I have never really had work where I used them. When I was a Social Worker we had a typing pool who did any letters needed.Notes were hand written. I very much doubt that still happens!
I dug up and potted up some plants from the back garden to take with me when I move, another viewing booked for Friday.
I sold one of my water lilies. £10, Thank you. Tomorrow is earmarked as a garden day. I will see if anything else can be sold.I have an abundance of seating for a start.
No other de cluttering with the exception of using up beauty and bathroom hoard. Some things have come in, 2 tee shirts for Mr V, a bra and a pair of cruise earrings for me. Although the earrings are not essential they match a dress perfectly. I am still clinging onto the hope of a holiday this year.

I've got rid of a couple of pens and highlighters - so 4 more out.
Yes, well done Oceandreamer with your (ex) clothes and shoes. Mrs. SD, I am one of those people who struggle with clearing our clothes. Any tips from anyone grategully received! I can think of so many reasons to hang on to them - maybe I'll wear it one day! When I've not worn if for 10 years!! Maybe it will fit me one day...etc!!
A whole load of hugs where needed.

Did a bit more of the box on the wm - some of it is now in a bag for further sorting and there is just one item left on wm. The box has been taken apart and put in recycling bin.
Apparently we will be having another wheelie bin and a box to add to our bin collection. We already have 4 wheelie bins - there is nowhere to put them and the box will probably be too small for what they want us to put in as it is the majority of what we have and the big bin that we currently have for cardboard and other recycling will no longer have much in. Really not sure what they are thinking! No doubt we will be told in more detail nearer the time.

Hello - just checking in. I don’t have any decluttering to declare 😱, but I am absolutely loving my decluttered house and the fact it is always tidy and I can find everything. I am spending more time with the kids, more time baking and just generally things that are enhancing my life.
Everything is still a bit of a work in progress, but I am slowly working out what I value most in my life and want to keep/want more of what I don’t. Things I don’t are being decluttered so I can enjoy life to the full as that’s what it’s for. I even spent 30 mins just sat on the sofa reading the other night, which is unheard of! I am slowly getting round to all those things I never used to have time to do. Need to keep up with the maintenance decluttering though to ensure I don’t go backwards and I do still have lots of photos to work through so I can create my photo frame from an ancient iPad I was given.I have made a spiced pear Bundt cake (cinnamon, cardamom and ginger) for the TLC carriage to have on its own, with Greek yogurt or hm vanilla ice cream. I hope it tastes good as it smells amazing! I’ve also made some apple and oat pancakes for everyone to reheat as snacks/breakfast with some fresh blueberries and Greek yogurt.2025 decluttering: 3,452🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

We too have a small flotilla of wheelie bins! Not in the least scenic in grey, brown and purple. Two full sized (garden waste and mixed recycling) and one 3/4 sized for landfill waste. We then have a crate for paper and both an indoor caddy for food waste and a kerbside caddy for it to be transferred too. I’m wondering where we shall be adding the soft plastic recycling once collection of that commences next year, it’s currently in a caddy in the kitchen ahead of a supermarket trip. Apparently they are also supposed to collect batteries and rags, the bin collectors are often baffled by those so rags go to the charity shop for selling to the rag man and batteries go to work with me or are dropped off at the supermarket.

@QueenJess - I now see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. If you can do it, maybe I can too. Thanks for being an inspiration.15

Thank you for the replies re bins. I am very keen for as much to be recycled as possible and have always been meticulous about properly washing tins etc up before putting in recycling bin, but all this extra plastic that goes into making the bins etc is a concern, particularly as I know that we no longer recycle hard plastics locally. Also, if you give people too much to do, many won’t be able to deal with it so overall less will be properly sorted.Made a start on the shed. I know I am flitting around at the moment but I spotted several things that OH had said had gone but were still here - all my things - so I have got shot of them today. I need things to go once the decision has been made so there is space to think and breathe. Also need to do the outdoor jobs whilst we have some good weather and I can do the indoor stuff next time it rains.

My council just have 2 bins (general & recycling) + paid for garden waste. However, while most things can go in the recycling (paper, card, cans, plastic bottles & glass), they won't collect hard plastics. I'm lucky to have somewhere to store mine, and collect them up to drop at the tip every month, along with any dead batteries. Soft plastics get saved too & are dropped off at Tesco every 6 weeks or so.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Whoever was asking about clothes. This has been my last and hardest category to do. I started like you moving on from what things had cost. I tried everything on. Out, anything unflattering, anything tatty, anything I didn’t like. Then out went fantasy me things. I will never wear those beautiful but high shoes again, those dresses 2 sizes too small. Out went the handbags that I might use once a year. Out went most of the coats, I go everywhere in a car! I have 3 categories of clothes now. Smart casual , cruise clothes and 2 pairs of gardening/ painting trousers and 2 tops. My top gift I have always given myself is nice underwear. I would be quite happy to be run over at any time. 🤣🤣 My final difficult category is jewellery. I have got rid of stuff I didn’t like. I have cashed in a lot of gold but I still have a fair bit of costume jewellery. I like it, I wear it, it doesn’t take up much room. It can stay for now.Bins ! We need a national strategy. Every local authority is different.Laters Vx:13
