That's lovely @vulpix!!
I notice Noah had no slugs on the ark. Must have been a late invention of the devil. btw - I quite get the ick about them - just about stepped on a banana slug once. Monday is a lovely sunny day (I missed the morning sunshine due to not getting up until 13:00 😔) Temperature is set to rise to 24°C - I remembered 😉
oceanspirit, good work with the cleaning & organising 👏 I see that you have started your autumn/winter prep 😊 Not that I currently have space in my freezers 😉 but may I ask what you use to store your hm soup 🙏 Good luck using up your spices 🍀
Lovely chatty post vulpix 😊 & I made a similar assumption about lookbook hence not engaging in any way 😉 I know you were only joking 🙃 but here goes “hold your finger on the zero on the number line (iPad) - the ‘degree’ symbol appears above the ‘zero’ & then slide to the right to highlight the degree symbol & release the button” 😉😉 I am really hoping that the viewer turned up early because she was super keen & will put in an offer immediately 🙏🤞That mouse is so cute & his new bedding looks great 👏 So much for MrV retiring 🤣
No need to apologise London_1 😊 So pleased to hear that you are settling in so well & that you have thoroughly enjoyed having your grandsons visiting 🥹 Plus you still have N.Y. Grandson & family visit to look forward to 🥳 The scooter rally sounds marvellous & really good news that there has been no trouble 😮💨 Just people enjoying themselves 🥳
All this chat about slugs leads me to ask if anyone knows what their purpose is 🧐 other than to be icky & eat our plants 🤢
DH is now enjoying a bath & I am debating whether or not to do some decluttering 😂
I hope everyone is enjoying their Monday 😊

afternoon all
hope everyone is having a lovely bank holiday.
awake early due to neighbours (over the back this time) making noise and shutting their wrought iron gate loudly. Makes me so mad that people have no consideration for others!!
anyway made the most of it, got some life admin done while on the laptop in bed; got up at 9am, fed Mac and got my own brekkie. load of washing put in the machine to swish.
At 10am went back upstairs, tidied/made bed and used the scraper tool thing I have to clean the hair and gunk out of the upstairs carpet as well. The hoover does not pick up half of it I'm sure - much cheaper and faster to use the scraper. Was appalled by the amount of fluff and hair stuck in the carpet - all into the bin and bin liner changed immediately!
Five minutes sit down then cleaned and tidied kitchen, emptied recycling.
Popped hoover round the hall and living room, hung laundry to dry as it had finished by this point.
Mac refused to come out of his hutch so I could clean his tray so I've got all the cleaning materials sitting in the corner until he wants to move his behind
Since bunny was non cooperative, had a shower and washed my hair. Sorted through lo's in the fridge afterwards, and managed to cobble together 2 x lunch for work (beef salad in brown pitta bread for Tuesday, and cheese with lo coleslaw for Wednesday).
Lunch today was the remaining salad, which had a couple splurts of caesar dressing on it with tuna mixed in. Also found 3 x celery sticks in bottom draw of fridge about to turn, so was able to slice off the manky bits and they were fine mixed in with the rest
Egg on toast with bacon for dinner tonight and then mini sponge puddings with cream and extra blackberries for dessert.
I might have a nap!
xx

Well I'm not sure how I managed to escape relatively unscathed, but my parents brought very little with them (mostly some clothes for the kids) and actually listened to me and brought DD printed pictures to colour in! I needed a glass of wine after that and I still haven't recovered from the shock... They brought 11 things in all and I'm not counting a few empty boxes that I will use for charity donations, paper that will soon end up in recycling and some small coins for DS's collection. They also brought me almost 2kg of blackberries that are very happily sat in my freezer to be used.Physical:
2 - bathroom supplies used up
6 - craft/colouring supplies used up
1 - DD clothes grown out of
1 - DS tat binnedNew total = 14,910August In: 105, August Out: 518Looks like I've exceeded 100 things in this month, but I think it's lower than last month. Hoping to be at less than 100 things in September coming in.House is still clean and tidy. I've kept up with it all week despite DH being in another country Monday to Friday and am on top of most jobs. As soon as I think of something I need to do, I'm trying to do it that minute rather than putting things off and ending up with a huge list. Obviously it's not always possible, but I have blasted through quite a bit of stuff recently. Not at the end of the to do list, but I do seem to have quite a bit of free time at the moment now the house is pretty much sorted... it's quite disconcerting! On the plus side, I've spent loads of time with the kids playing games etc.

Going back to work for a rest tomorrow! I have hoovered and mopped floors again, did some shopping and did some ironing.
this BH I have done nothing that I wanted to do but never mind.
todays sticks were through the kitchen in addition to a big hole in the garden…..the pet visitor has no clue about gardening.
yesterday’s sticks were brought into the living room and on my bed.
i didn’t bother clearing them up outside today 🤣
Dog1 seems out of sorts and very clingy so we’ve had lots of cwtches bless her.
oooooo Mrs SD - following on from that big pie dish you saw, Steve Higgs (or possibly Hicks?) does a series of detective books, very easy reading, that involve a retired gentleman travelling the UK with his German shepherd to food related places. Google it to see if it’s your cup of tea - it’s on the store of A.⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

I've managed to do more decluttering of the weeds in the lawn, another go at the laurel hedge and some of the bits growing into my garden from the back.
I'm also hoping to take a smallish table back to my mum's place, should be ok but I will be getting it off and on a bus.
I thought I'd accidentally binned the secetures and the tool I used to tackle the weeds in the lawn, but they mysteriously reapeared in the cupboard after initially disappearing.

Mrs SD, I use the square plastic boxes from Lakeland which come in two sizes. I use the smaller ones as these do a single portion and stack better in my freezer than the larger ones. I then use masking tape across the lid as the label and write with a black marker pen. It’s easier to peel the masking tape off the box as soon as you get it out of the freezer than leaving it until it has defrosted.
I’ve had a box of random things sitting on top of my washing machine for a while so I started working through that today. Several items of old packaging in recycling or bin, a couple of items laundered, a brand new kitchen knife removed from its packaging, washed and now in the utensils drawer ready to be used and a few other things cleaned and put away.
Also put some more food items in a better place for using up. May even get more of the kitchen shelves cleaned tomorrow - would be good to get them finished.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅14 -
Hi I've been lurking on this thread on and off for ages trying to motivate myself to start decluttering. A while back I read something about it not being a waste of money to get rid of things that you no longer love/want no matter how much they cost - the money was already wasted when you bought them. This was a real light bulb moment for me! I can't tell you the number of things I keep because I know how much they cost (and they are sometimes new!) Now, I have realised that it won't make one bit of difference to how much money I have whether I keep them or not (unless I sold them which I would never get round to so prefer to give away). So I have now decluttered most of my clothes and shoes, which was a mammoth task, but a good start. It has also made me much more mindful of buying things, or saying yes to things that are offered to me. I know the post I read was ages ago so I can't thank the poster personally, but honestly it was a game changer for me, so thank you!20
