Hi all, had my jab and just sitting having a coffee while my arm recovers
.
@QueenJess, oh thanks for that receipe, saves me trecking all over the place to find malt extract, I will give that a go as I have a small amount of dried fruit left from OH's wedding cake cooking.
Photo of the pepper plant
And a photo of the free apples
Football season kicks off today and although we are away it is on the TV so that's me sat on the couch for a couple of hours and then back into the garden for a bit more chopping. I have a new bird feeder to install as the old one broke but I need to get the broken pole out first and it's attached to a post that is covered in ivy. Also I need to sort out the pots, I think I have a few that can be passed on / recycled
Take care everyone13 -
I feel like I haven't been doing anything much lately. I did go through my toiletries drawer to see what needs using up. I threw away some body oil that I have had for years and never used. I put the body lotion in the bathroom and I remembered to use it after my shower today.
I just called to take our house off the market as I want to see how we will live on a fixed income for a year. We did have a viewer turn up unannounced the other day and decided to let her in and it turned out she got the address wrong so she was at the wrong house! Lucky she wasn't a serial killer that I let indoors.

Saturday is another lovely day - blue skies & sunny with a forecast high of 23C Up later than the last couple of days - 11:00 & relaxing in my dressing gown. The bird has been identified as a Grey Heron - not a great picture but it was taken from our hotel window 😉
Lovely post Liverpool_Anne 😊 I was curious too but have been unable to find any real info on how they cooked the pastry although the contents appear to have been cooked in half ton portions 😰 Excellent decluttering on Wednesday 👏 you were very busy 🤩
oceanspirit, excellent work with your new diet 👏 I hope you are starting to feel the benefits 🤞
QueenJess, I am always impressed at how you are constantly tweaking your decluttering methods “…… it is harder to find things as you go through every round and I'm now instead of asking if I like/use an item, I am trying to challenge myself as to if I would be happy without the item and can use an alternative. That's most helpful in the kitchen where the cupboards stress me out as they are too full, so I need to find a way to cut down whilst still having everything I need since I cook/bake from scratch daily. However, some days it is easy and others it feels impossible - it's just a rough aim and I won't hold myself to it everyday. It's just a way to keep thinking about it” More excellent decluttering 👏 You are an inspiration 😊
vulpix, excellent work 👏 Keeping everything crossed that your viewers today will fall in love with your house & put in an offer immediately so that you can get the ball rolling on buying the “ugly house” 🙏
Crazycatlady2, hope the fish decluttering went well 🤞
vulpix, I hope you enjoyed the flower show & that the weather was kind 🙏 Looking forward to firming up the details of our meet up 😊
Liverpool_Anne, yippee to finding the starch spray 🥳 & very well done on resisting the urge/temptation to buy more than one 😉 The apples sound delicious, so I am looking forward to popping into the TLC Carriage & sampling some of your crumble 😉
Pennypincin, well done on sorting out the compost bins 👏 Sorry to hear about your ‘suspicions’ & the extra work it created 😔 Hopefully now that you have moved the bins (although you shouldn’t have had to 😠) the neighbour will dispose of the dog poo more responsibly 🤞
oceanspirit, hm soup 😋
Will post this & set timer to come back later & carry on the cheerleading 😉

17 pairs of socks given to DD1. I bought loads as they were a bargain at an M n S outlet. Slightly too small and after waiting a year my feet haven't shrunk!!!
Wednesday, that is hilarious. I am also considering taking our house off the market. Spoke to the EA this morning, our house has has over 30,000 online views. Nosy neighbours I expect! well not even that many live in the town! They've all looked several times.
Beautiful looking apples Liverpool Anne. Chilli jam in the future?
What is it with tins of treacle? I had 2 in my cupboard. I used it for a recipe and was going to use it up as treacle toffee. Gave them to bit by bit in the end, I bet they are still in her kitchen right now!
Well the whole day has been taken up with DD1's suitcase which disappeared in Aberdeen last night. Many ,many phone calls later we have just been to the airport to collect it. She has missed the wedding but we are taking her to Sheffield for the reception. She has just gone to see my Mum for 1/2 hour.

@Liverpool_Anne - Re-molasses/treacle cookie recipe: I use ground cloves. Probably optional. Most online instructions say that whether you use US cups or UK cups won't make much of a difference. These cookies should be slightly soft.11

I pottered about a bit Saturday late afternoon 😉 Wrote a shopping list for DH & DSis who took the car. Unpacked our bags & gathered the washing which I will do on Sunday. Dealt with most of my mail & cleared down the last episodes of The Leftovers. I enjoyed it more this time around although it was still rather confusing 😉 Put away all the shopping when DH & DSis got back. Sm pizzas for dinner. Wudupa.

QueenJess, I managed to get a flapjack - delicious 🤤 Thanks for the ginger cake recipe 👏 You might have made a bit of a mess in the kitchen but it does sound like you managed to sort it out for the time being 👏 Well done on striking whilst the iron was hot & getting DH’s ‘approval’ to declutter the hot plate thingy & the other items 🥳 Long may he stay aboard the decluttering train 🤞
Pennypincin, great work with the laundry & housework 👏
ilovetea, congratulations to your daughter on her new home 😊 Excellent decluttering - now past 3 quarters of the way to target 👏 One Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 😊
weenancy, thanks for the recipe 👏 They sound delicious 🤤 I will have to check if I have any treacle 😉
Crazycatlady2, great work sorting out food & stationery 👏 Such a shame about the fish 😔 Fingers crossed re getting contents professionally valued at a reasonable cost 🤞
Lovely post Liverpool_Anne 😊 The trip was great even with the rain on the 2nd day 🙂 As to the disturbed sleep, at least I was getting more than 6 hours in total 😂 Well done on finding enough energy to do so much potting up of plants 👏
Thanks for the malt loaf recipe QueenJess 👏
Great photos Liverpool_Anne 😊 That plant pot is very pretty 😍 & the green pepper looks very healthy 🙂 Also those apples look delicious as well as being plenty of them 🤩 Fingers crossed your arm recovers quickly & your B12 jab kicks in quickly🤞
Wednesday2000, sorry to hear that you have taken your house off the market 😔 The silver lining is that you will have time to declutter & when you try again you will be in a better position to move 😉 Very relieved to hear that you didn’t let a serial killer in 😮💨
vulpix, now that is what I call decluttering - 17 pairs of socks 👏 Sorry to hear that you are considering taking your house off the market especially as you have been so excited about ‘the ugly house’ 😔 What a palaver with DD1’s suitcase 😔 Such a shame that she missed the wedding but hopefully she had a good time at the reception 🙏
All caught up so I am off to bed. Cwtches to all 🤗 Sleep tight 😴

... and breathe, DD1 and her drama have moved on.
At last I have a bit of brain space and I have messaged you Liverpool Anne and Mrs SD.
The light has changed. It feels like we are going into Autumn. Still nice days but a nip in the air in the evening.
So today I will mostly be... hand sewing the bias binding on the quilt. It is very close to completion. I may even have time to knock up some bunting on the sewing machine.
Have a lovely day
