Still not 100% and since it's my day off, I will be just pottering around the house and taking things easy. Catching up on a few jobs and also doing loads of washing as I am a bit behind. I realised my parents are visiting this weekend, so definitely need a clear out before they come and I need everyone to cross their fingers and toes that my parents won't be bringing a whole carload of stuff with them!As I have a shortlist of the most untidy rooms, I started in DD's room as I can't do it in the evenings since she will be sleeping in it. Easily found 25 things to go without trying very hard and haven't looked at clothes yet. It shouldn't be that easy, so there is definitely more to go in there. Will do a bit more after lunch. DH has taken boxes to the charity and now I only have 4 boxes left to fill before I no longer have any spare boxes.I took the last puzzle out of the loft yesterday (DD did the whole thing twice... a 50 piece puzzle at 3 years!). I am going to slowly work through the stash of books and took a sample out for DS to try and see if he even likes them first. There are 2.5 boxes of books and I find them hard to get rid of, so that will take a while.Physical:
1 - broken gift bag (recycled)
1 - book (charity bag)
4 - packaging reused

Lovely pic Mrs SD.
The clothes dyeing came out okay this time. I should have taken a before pic. The other pic is the outfit I'm wearing to the concert.
My husband has gone to declutter some hair. I was going to give him a donation bag to take but he didn't want to carry it on the bus. I will take it when we go out Saturday.

A few more bits done this afternoon and when I told DS I decluttered some of DD's room, he then wanted to find a few bits to declutter himself. Although I haven't got rid of loads today, I am very happy with my progress as a number of things that have been partly done for a while have completed and been decluttered (including a puzzle and a puzzle book). Need to get back to the photos soon, but they are really tough to go through.Bar photos, all the big decluttering areas have gone really and it'll be sustained daily decluttering of bits and pieces as well as using things up and not replacing them that will reflect my decluttering for a while now. No specific daily aims, but just trying to declutter at least one thing a day to keep me moving forwards. I realise DD has some too small shorts in her drawers, but I can't declutter them until tomorrow now as she's sleeping. I still have to sort out my wardrobe, but it's a slow progress as I have to make slow decisions there. I know from experience if I make fast decisions and declutter loads I will buy back more. Trying slowly to make some sort of capsule wardrobe for the summer and ignoring all my winter clothes. I will get back to those in the winter.Physical:
1 - finished puzzle book (recycled)
2 - DD next size up clothes not needed (charity bag)
2 - DD tat recycled
1 - baking overstock used up
1 - puzzle (Buy Nothing)
6 - DS tat (charity bag)New total = 12,371May/June mini clothes decluttering challenge = 213/200Edit: My mum mentioned having loads of stuff for DD stashed away from when I was a child. I really dread to think as I thought I'd broken the back of my parents loft stuff. Trying not to think about it. Will try and convince them when they are here that there is no point keeping things like My Little Pony as DD will never play with those and see if I can get them to give me some information on what else they have. Maybe then I can at least stop some of it appearing in my house2025 decluttering: 2,387🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅

I was asleep in bed last night when my phone rang - the alarm had gone off at the SA - as the officers are away - I am the only one who can reset it. So I got up/dressed and rushed there.
After checking the building for an intruder - we thought the inner office door had set it off. We fixed the door and put the alarm on and left. As we went down the road - I said to my friend J who had met me at the hall - you have left the lights on. So back we went. Then I went home and back to bed.
The alarm went off again at 4 am - this time I had taught J how to reset the alarm so she didn't disturb me. J then stayed at the hall rather than go home as she had to get homeless breakfast ready for 6.30.
We cooked 50 dinners and I sorted out loads of donations.
The alarm company were sending an engineer as the alarm was sounding like a strangled seagull when it went off.
The engineer went through the alarm records and saw it was a hall sensor that was triggering it. He replaced the sensor but didn't have a sound box with him so is returning tomorrow to fit that. If the alarm goes off tonight - we will know the sensor is not faulty and it may be mice or rats.
I popped home at 3.45 and had been home 10 minutes when I got a call to say that someone had been given a key to the building but didn't have the alarm code as was told it would not be on. So I had to tell her the code - poor neighbours - that was 3 times the alarm had gone off in 14 hours.
I went back to the hall at 4.10 as I was asked to be the second adult in the mini bus that was taking children to music lessons. I got home at 7.45 having left home in the morning at 10.

Unexpected decluttering of my car. A few weeks ago started it to find an awful noise moving even a few inches, and with help of breakdown people realised someone had driven into it but didn't look bad. Anyway picked up by the garage this morning and hours on the phone to sort out courtesy car when I phoned again told my car had been written off and therefore no courtesy car! I've been in shock as v unexpected and had intended keeping the car for a good few years to come. Follows long conversatio with my cousin last night which convinced me to part with all the good quality clothes to cs and not sell. Today I am hesitating as know insurers will give me less than needed to buy another low mileage car esp as they cant claim off anyone as noone saw it or heard it15

oooh it's been so so long since i visited this thread but man do i need to declutter - still haha
i roughly went through my luggage and carry-on just to see what's actually in there and lo and behold i found some things to let go of:
- pouch with bottles / pumps / jars for your carry on
i used two of the bottles once and i didn't like them at all. getting everything out (using it up) and washing it later was a pain in the butt so i'm letting go of it. maybe someone else can use the setweight loss journey: 3 KG / 8 KG

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Mini Mission in May
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
From Tuesday evening: After dinner we sat outside & were entertained by the aerobatics performed by several house martins as they came out to catch bugs & insects 😊
Wednesday started bright & slightly overcast. We were up & dressed by 8:35, bags packed so we took two down & packed the bike. Breakfast when it eventually arrived was OK (definitely an understaffed hotel) although DH’s fried egg had a solid yolk 😔 + having asked for milk 3 times from each of the 3 staff with no luck, I resorted to raiding other tables 😅 Returned to our room, picked up last bag, coats & hats & were on the road by 10:00. Five minutes into our journey DH spotted a lone deer on a hill 🥳 Otherwise we were pretty light on animal sightings - cows, sheep, horses, ponies, corvids. Despite checking every playground we drove past not another chicken in sight 😂 A wonderful day - the weather improved blue skies, fluffy white clouds & lots of sunshine & warmth as we travelled the coast road to Ayr 😊 DH took us to Largs to get a photo of Magnus the Viking for the RBR with the added bonus that we had ice cream from Nardini’s - delicious ice cream & so much of it at what I thought was a reasonable price (£4.20 each) We stood out in the sunshine enjoying our ice cream 😋 Ended up in Inverkip arriving at the hotel (Inverkip Hotel) about 17:15. The smallest room so far but with a decent sized bathroom. We both had a shower to cool down & went down to dinner 18:45. Prawn cocktail followed by a chicken & bacon Caesar salad (the most enormous bowlful I have ever seen) for me & Gyozi dumplings with a dipping sauce followed by Katsu curry for DH. We shared a dessert - affogato with shortbread biscuits. Delicious meal for each of us but DH had to help me finish my Caesar salad 😉 Took the bill back to be amended - the server had left off two beers - she was rather surprised but ultimately pleased 😉 We were back in our room by 21:15
Lovely cheerleading post, Liverpool_Anne 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 & don’t worry about watching the football 😉 Also yippee to finally getting access to your pans 🥳
Some great decluttering TC77 👏 don’t forget to update your numbers 😉 Fingers crossed that the table & chairs will collect by Friday 🤞
GrannyKate, how typical that the old EA is finally putting in an effort 😔 Once your childcare duties are done & dusted, I hope you can spend a lot of time in the TLC Carriage to recover 🤞Great work completing frogs 👏
Wednesday2000 good luck with dyeing your clothes 🍀
vulpix, so pleased to hear that MrV’s op went well 😮💨 Hopefully he won’t have the the drain & catheter in for too long 🤞Lovely to hear that you are enjoying driving a manual car 😊 Well done on completing another baby blanket 👏 Sounds like you are going to have a busy time in your stepson’s garden 😱 so meantime please get lots of rest 🙏🙏 The weather gods listened to you thank you - Tuesday was a decent day & Wednesday was lovely 😊
Florenceem, fingers crossed that a planning officer turns up soon & makes the nursing home take down the added fencing 🤞I agree with Brie - I believe 6’ is the maximum height 🤔 The other thing to consider - is it their fence/wall or yours? Regardless, it is a very poor show by the care home 😡
Florenceem, I agree that the care home have not only let down the particular resident but it makes me feel concerned about the safety of the less adventurous residents 😔
weenancy, I would definitely read more of London_1’s childhood stories 😊 Well done on making the most of the time spent waiting reading books & winning prizes 👏 Yippee for friend who has helped you with the back yard 🥳 Shame the roommates are less helpful 😔 Really cannot say I blame you not talking to your roommates 😂
I have caught up a little but trying to get to bed before midnight so will post & run 😉 Cwtches to all as I have lots to share (sunshine helps 😊) 🤗 Sleep tight 😴
