Walked into town with Mr F this morning - took stuff to the charity shops. I popped to one charity shop and Mr F went to another. I went into the shop where Mr F had the mishap last week and met up with him to walk back up the high street.
We popped into SA and I did sorting of donations - it was lunch time so Mr F had some HM chicken soup - made by one of our Ukrainian friends.
We heard a noise this afternoon - the residential home next door to us has put awful looking lengths of chipboard on the top of the existing fence panels. The fence panels sit on a wall.
We have less light in our cloakroom - it is over 8 feet high on our side of the wall.
I am hopping mad - they say a resident climbed over and escaped so they needed to raise the height. Mr F has lived here for over 40 years and no one has climbed over.
I have phoned the council as I intend to ask a planning officer to visit.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Brie - makes me question the staffing levels - surely a member of staff should be in the garden to take care of the elderly residents - how did the man climb a high fence and go for miles.

Glad Mr. V operation went well.
JackieO - how about writing some more stories of your childhood while you are waiting for your move. We would love to read them.
Am spending most of my days sitting in cars waiting for people and reading books or getting ready for book sale this Friday. At least I am getting prizes with the summer reading program for all of the time I am spending reading. And I am getting books ready to go to book sale at the same time. Not much else getting done, but our friend who leaves his van in our driveway in exchange for helping out here has cleared a large portion of the backyard for me! Am ignoring roommates. Talking mostly to cats.16 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Mini Mission in May
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Quick addition of info for Monday: we saw cows, sheep, horses & ponies + a wagtail & possibly a camel - we drove past a little too quickly to be sure 😉. Tuesday started dry & bright. We were up by 8:15, packed our bags - took 2 of them down & packed in the bike when we went down to breakfast at 08:50. We both ordered a full English breakfast (although I decided against the black pudding 😉) & washed down with coffee 😋 Back to our room & picked up the last bag, our coats & my helmet. DH was chased out of the hotel as he forgot to hand in the key 😂 We were on the road by 10:15. A 60 mile drive to our first landmark. A lovely day weather wise - overcast with some very dark clouds but dry until about 15:00 when we started to see blue sky & some sunshine the further north we went 😊 Animals of the day: cows, sheep, horses, two birds of prey soaring high, a pheasant, a wagtail, an oystercatcher, a chicken in a playground 😅 I thought it might go on the slide 😉 & best sighting of the day I saw a kestrel in flight but from above 🥳 The road was higher than the field & the kestrel was flying towards me - stunning 😍 For the first time ever I also saw white foxgloves 😊 Roadworks added extra time to our day but even so we arrived at The Portpatrick Hotel just before 17:00. A rather grand looking place overlooking the harbour. This is a picture of the view from our room
We got changed out of our biking clothes & went down to the bar about 17:45. Took our drinks onto the terrace & watched the world go by. Several of the hotel guests had dogs - the husky & the collie type dog were our favourites 😊 We ended up not going back to our room, went straight in to dinner at 19:30. Haggis bonbons with a mustard dip followed by chicken & leek pie for me, king prawns with sweet chilli sauce followed by sea bass in a lemon sauce for DH. We shared a slice of chocolate fudge cake in a chocolate sauce with vanilla ice cream. Yummy 😋 although DH conceded that I had made tastier choices 😉 We went back to our room about 21:30 with the moon fully up & the sun still well above the horizon 🙂
Apologies for not cheerleading - I fell asleep & only woke up about half an hour ago 😉
Hope everyone has had a good day & Cwtches for those who would like one 🤗

Thank you for good wishes folks.
What a lovely location Mrs SD.
I forgot to say, DD1 works for the NHS and when she rings it says no caller id. Also the same for the consultant who I answered the phone yesterday with ey up me duck! He has a good sense of humour.
I tried on some of the tops I have hung on the wardrobe door. One I am altering slightly by hand, one for the chazzer. Nice top but my colouring has changed the past couple of years. I am starting to go grey from my usual mouse, I might buy a dye and see if I can brighten myself up a bit.
We have a dinner on Friday in Nottingham with some old friends of Mr V. I shall be taking notes when I talk to them. For years I have wanted to write the story of Mr V's youth and all his escapades as a member of a marching band. When we were on our last cruise, I had the good fortune to meet 2 very famous comedy writers. I shamelessly pitched the idea and they thought it was worth pursuing. I have also shamelessly pitched the idea to someone who works at the BBC. they are going to try to get me a contact. It would make a great feel good situation comedy or even a quirky, very British film. Watch this space. I have only been working on this for 17 years and it may come to nothing but it's a funny story worth telling. I don't want to say who the people were who I met on the cruise but if you need to know,pm me!
At last, some better weather. I have already done 2 loads of washing and have another couple of bedding to do.
All being well Mr V should be coming home today. It took me 2 hours to drive into Manchester for visiting last night so I will drive half way and park up and turn my new trousers up whilst waiting for the call.
Have a lovely day folks Vx:20
