Hey folks, packing still continuing. My replacement at work has been appointed and we'll be telling my lovely year group soon. While I won't miss the stress, I'm going to miss the kids and my colleagues. Had a very early last night as I went for a 4am solstice swim at the Lido. Very beautiful followed by a delicious breakfast wrap and coffee. Sorting all the garden pots and plants we are taking this weekend and will be decluttering some growth in the garden so it's nice for the new people16

On Tuesday I spent some time at my friend's house with her and her DH. Although he is improving it is going to be a long job recovering from the stroke. He has lost his words as well as the use of his right side which makes communication very hard. He has finished his 6 weeks physio and speech and language therapy and they are now faced with paying for more treatment, another post code lottery situation. She has been refused a blue badge as there is hope he will improve though she can't actually get him in and out of the car without using a standing frame and wheelchair which she can't actually fit in the car so basically they are stuck in the house and limited to visiting places she can push him to. Another friend and I have offered help, come and sit with DH to give her some time out, even if it's just to have a wander around the sm or grab a coffee with some other friends and she is thinking about it. It is very hard for her as she is usually the one giving help. When I got home I intended to do some more batch cooking but I was exhausted and just slumped on the couch. I think it was the emotional exhaustion rather than physical activity.A swivel seat may be of help to your friend and her husband. I used to use on when transporting elderly villagers to hospitals etc.The flatter the car seat the better the fit, i.e. wouldn't work on bucket type or sport seats. There's also a very handy handle which slots into the car locking mechanism when the door is open. That gives fantastic support, especially when getting out. https://www.amazon.co.uk/car-door-handle-disabled/s?k=car+door+handle+for+disabled My car couldn't accommodate the handle so I used a version of this instead.

good morning everyone!
had to run to the post office early this morning ... a packaged got delivered yesterday while i wasn't home so i had to pick it up there (they could have easily put it into the mailbox though but oh wellat least i got some steps in)
some more (minor) declutters:
- shoes: i had them for several years and used them at least a year(?) exclusively for dog walking. as you can imagine, they looked rough and beyond repairi got a new pair on sale though so we're good - although they're not as comfy but i'm sure i'll walk them in
- packaging from a lipgloss: it was a limited edition collection one with one of my favorite anime series but this packaging in particular does not have a cute design on them (or a character) so it's out of the house. (recycled)
curious to see what i can get rid off over the weekend! happy friday everyoneweight loss journey: 3 KG / 8 KG

Morning all. Thanks for all the good wishes - viewing went well and lady definitely very interested - wants to bring her son to see house. She has sold hers but her buyer's buyer has a problem hopefully soon sorted. Will see if she makes an offer. Strange situation as I am in process of moving to new agent after my holiday but still in notice period. I have spoken with new agent and they are ok and have booked to see me 17 July if nothing happens in the meantime. I asked to review a house I had seen before and got a snotty reply that they were only allowing viewings from people who had sold their property - this house is empty and is with the agents supposed to be selling mine! I have enquired about another one but my text message took 2 days to bounce! Have sent an email now. I am keeping an eye on the one that came up last week and was under offer in 2 days. In the road I like best so we will see if that goes through.
Things have been coming in rather than out. New swimming costume and dress for Greece. There are some things which I think will be going after my holiday. Got DGS4 (aged 9) a football shirt - he is watching and enjoying the football although his dad and I have little interest in the sport.

I am going to cut front lawn before it gets any warmer. Hoping DS2 may be back to do school run but it's not a good drive and depends when he can finish for today.2025 Decluttering Campaign 590/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

soooo the package i got was a mystery make up bag (with seven items in, all for a reduced price) and the pouch zipper broke the minute i touched it
so:
- one make up pouch: i actually wanted to keep it but the plastic zipper is beyond repair. (it's also rather cheap quality)
- one old eyeshadow: had it for years and now got a very similar one on the mystery bag that i don't need to hang on to the old one anymoreweight loss journey: 3 KG / 8 KG

Nice to see you Butterfly.
Florafauna, exciting times ahead.
Any news London 1 ?
Any news GrannyKate ?
Weenancy, killjoy comment coming up. Cute as a kitten is you have more than enough on your plate. Good luck with another epic book sale.
LiverpoolAnne, I would love to do the round Britain trips too. There is a similar car thing. I googled it and that's as far as I got. I would advise you to have a trip to the Shetland Islands. The overnight cabin ferry from Aberdeen is part of the experience, but there are very regular flights. If you do plan to go, ask me about hotels as there isn't a lot of choice and some are better than others. The photo is part of the house used in the detective series Shetland. DD1 said the new detective was in Tesco the other day. They are filming a new series currently.
Mr V is on the mend, Groaning every time he moves but he brought me breakfast in bed today. Normal service has been resumed.

Yes @Vulpix - my proposed new agent said to expect a flurry of viewings as the first agent will want to get their commission. If I sell I have nowhere to move to yet. Both agents selling possible properties which I first viewed more than 3 months ago have refused to let me do a second viewing unless I have a definite sale. (houses are both empty and have been on market 6 months)

I went back to SA to lock up last night - there were sacks of donations so I sorted them
This morning I went to SA - this week milk has disappeared from the kitchen fridge. I can't lock the kitchen as the group there on Thursday evening uses the kitchen. The group brings their own milk so it wasn't our milk used for their drinks.
The morning group had also brought their own milk along so it narrows down the suspects.
Mr F and I went to the local council offices to see someone in the planning dept - you have no opportunity for a face to face - has to be phone or email.
Took Mr F to the sea front and treated us to whippy ice creams - cherry flavour. I thought they were very reasonable - large - £5.40 for the two cones.
I don't think my children made as much mess eating an ice cream as Mr F - he got it down his jumper/jogging bottoms/on a shoe and in his shopping bag.
We got some shopping on the way home and went via the sorting office to post voting papers and a Birthday card.
I weighed Mr F last night he has lost another 4 lbs in 9 days.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
