good morning everyone!
a very rainy day so far (got completely soaked while walking the dog but i have to say, it was very refreshing) i'll use numbers from now on cause otherwise i just get too confused with how much i've decluttered already haha
(9) hair straightener: i can't even tell you the last time i use this. if i need to tame my (very frizzy) hair i use a blow dryer instead.
(10) webcam: used it once. has been collecting dust on top of my screen.
(11) microphone: same as the webcam. although i'm not sure i even used this.
i might be able to sell the webcam and mic for a few €. in fact i'll put some more things on vinted and hope for the bestif they don't sell within a month, they're being donated.
have a great saturday everyone!!weight loss journey: 3 KG / 8 KG

Fizz2015 said:Had some upsetting news, my sisters has breast cancer and will be having surgery flowed by chemo. I feel numb about it and don't think it has sunk in yet.
It was the second time I had gone through cancer the first time in 1982 But I have survived, and I am just so glad the the mammogram picked mine up as I had no lumps or bumps or indication there was anything wrong
I had just returned from a three week tour of the USA so was feeling pretty well, and went for a routine checkup and mammogram, as my oldest friend had been diagnosed with it several years before, and I'd always gone for the scan and checked my body regularly
The cancer nurses were brilliant and said they catching it asap was really good. I honestly thought that my mammograms had been mixed up with someone else as apart from having osteoarthritis since I was 28 (inherited and diagnosed as my late Mum had been a sufferer of it) I was as fit as a butchers dog, and rarely ever went to the Drs.
But diagnosis and treatment was excellent and you do develop a somewhat dark sense of humour ,it was odd having no hair for awhile, but it soon grows back.
When having chemo, the oncology nurse said have a bottle of lucozade to drink afterwards it does help, also for some reason chocolate, she recommended a Kit Kat ,not wanting to disappoint I duly chomped on my Kit Kat after chemo, and washed it down with lucozade and I must say it stopped the metallic taste you get in your mouth following chemo. it was a strange experience and eventually
I had reconstruction done and I'm now 11 years into remission, and apart from a rotten year last year (nothing to do with cancer thankfully) I am once again feeling pretty fit and well.
I did develop lymphodema in my right arm (they removed 24 lymph nodes to ensure it didn't get the chance to
spread ), its just is twice the size of my left arm, but all the family are used to my wonky arm and I can live with it although its a darned nuisance at times as I have to have clothes slightly bigger to wear, to accommodate my chunky right arm.
it doesn't stop me from driving, but I no longer swim very much, as I would end up going in circles because the left arm is a lot stronger than the right but hey ho its not the end of the world.
I've done two 'walks for life' (in my case more of a genteel hobble with my trusty stick) and they are great fun and you meet lots of other folk who have been through it ,
One of my daft grandsons Jack came with me last time, and was bucket rattling to help collect, and he is a very large young man who dressed up in a bright pink tutu for fun and charmed all the lasses with his cheeky grin, worked as well as his bucket soon grew quite heavy,.
But you do develop a sense of what's important in life, and what not to really worry about. I used to say to my grandchildren look at what I'm saving on shampoos and hair trims
I certainly worry a lot less than I did pre-cancer as being alive and seeing my grandchildren grow up is so uplifting and now 3 great granddaughter s as well.
So try not to worry too much, the nurses and Drs will be there and everyone will help. Chemo did make me quite tired when on it and I would sleep when I felt like it, often in the afternoon so I could be awake in the evening.
Just be there for her with tea, and probably some help with the housework as I found hoovering or changing the bed quite a chore at first,t until you get used to not having a boob, its a bit like learning to balance things out.
Just make sure that you and every woman you know goes for their scan irrespective of anything as I say I had no symptoms whatsoever. But today the treatment is fantastic and hopefully it will be eradicated at some point .
So chums fingers crossed the contracts will be exchanged on Monday if all the solicitors are agreed and moving day will be 5th July hopefully.
I'm still sitting surrounded by my goods and chattels ,my lovely neighbours partner is going to mow my lawn for me today bless him as its becoming a wild and wooly state
Hope everyone is OK and hugs for the poorlies and sad amongst you all

WeenancyinAmerica Maybe the kitten actually came to you so you could FIND the forever home, not so you would BE the forever home. I don't think you have space in your life to accommodate another little being lol. Perhaps tkitten deserves their own family or person who will have time to focus on being their whole world. Its easy to rehome a kitten, much harder to rehome a grown cat. Ask the vet to put a notice up and ask local rescues. There will be people who are looking for their new best friend.
You don't keep all the books, you find them their new home. Bella is happy and cared for in her new home. Concentrate on simplifying your life and allow someone else to love and adore this kitten 😸
Just a suggestion
Daisy xx

Fizz, I had breast cancer 13 years ago, still here to tell the tale. I cannot fault my treatment and believe treatment is even more efficient now a days. Diagnosis is a shock but I am sure your sister will have the very best care and treatment and soon be back to usual. xx BTW, I think it's a great idea for you daughter to earn money for her new wardrobe.
Weenancy ,looks like you have a new kitten. The book sales go from strength to strength. That is a marvellous thing you do.
I think you might be in luck LiverpoolAnne. No trees in the Shetlands and very windy so few midges, The perfect Scotland visit. If they are there they would swiftly be blown to Norway!
In my wardrobe I found tops to go with my new trousers. 3 cream and 4 white. 1 white one so far gone in the charity bag. I wore one last night, the rest are waiting to be tried on. I was thinking I should go through the wardrobe and fit everything into an outfit and see whats left over, then either get rid or find something to wear it with. I wear a lot of separates as my bottom half is bigger than the top!
My wardrobe is over full. It's coats. I hardly ever wear a coat but you think in our climate you ought to have some. Smart winter coat, funeral coat, puffa coat, denim jacket, fleece top, cag, fold up cag. That's the ones I can remember. I also have an emergency cagoule in the car!
I also have evening dresses and a lot of evening tops to wear with black trousers. I think at least one of the dresses will be too big but would do in an emergency so that's silly to keep.I have never in my life had the need of an emergency evening dress.Much as I would like to be invited to an impromtu ball it has never happened.
We had a lovely time last night with Mr V's old mates. We discussed what I have in mind for the book/ screenplay. We are going to meet again. The conversation was recorded so it's Mr V's job to write down what was said whilst he is having to take it easy.
I took big red home and collected our car. It almost drives itself in comparison.
I am inspired to empty my wardrobe.
PS. hugs to those feeling unwell or in need of a hug.x

Mrs SD - one letter was just the info after Mr F's ears micro suction. Another letter was confirmation of the face to face appointment at the hospital on Thursday. Third letter was about his admittance to A & E - detailing drains and procedures.
I popped to SA this morning before going to Asd. Today is Ukrainian hub day where they can all meet up together.
I am on duty to take in the M & S food tonight.
Mr F has gone out to distribute posters for the upcoming table top sale.
Mr F has a GP appointment tomorrow morning.
I am very worried about the future. However my faith tells me that I must leave it all in God's hands.

@Liverpool_Anne thanks for you kind words. I sent an all parent email on Froday about leaving and have received some lovely thank yous from parents .
Things are quite stressful here as the sellers of the house we are buying have not yet completed all the paperwork despite saying they had. As planned moving day is in 3 weeks, it's quite nerve-wracking to say the least.
Have spent all day today so far clearing out the shed , going to the tip and washing the large pots we are taking with us. I am just having a rest before doing more inside packing12 -
@Fizz2015 I also had breast cancer 2016 had a lumpectomy, chemo and radiotherapy. Chemo is hard going makes you tired. Agree with @London-1 that help with cleaning and also an odd meal would be a grate help. I could never do anything for the first week after. I’m still on tablets until 2026 10 years. She will be very well looked after.

Hugs to all those who are struggling, and stories of overcoming major difficulties I have been reading along.
I am finding things more overwhelming, including physical clutter, and not sure if this is age or being overwhelmed by other things. DD1 struggling and been sent a £900 utility bill for her old flat which can't be her but hassle and been told has to pay more tuition fee as her hospital placement will go into next academic year due to her poor health. She gets no tuition but works for free... so she is not happy but has met with a therapist to deal with anxiety from the hit and run and her injuries from a few years ago.
Bank has made a mix up and few other frogs. Not counting in nos but may decided to record to help me get through them.
Old oyster card out , ood food, a christening gown, jug, and skirt all in the CS bag. All things I may have tried to sell. And some paper so will 6 but hopefully more because its sapping energy and stopping me moving on.
Lovely afternoon seeing a friend ... may be I can have friends round at some point. Dining table and 8 chairs being picked up on Friday!
The cake @QueenJess looks so yummy!16
