We hat have you done with your Friday night?
Me and the hubby have done a huge toiletries, perfumes and medicines declutter tonight with 153 items for chucking and recycling and 5 Lush pots to go back. Plus an old towel ring, a storage box and an I've cube tray. 161 things!!!
We've gone through all the smelly gifts we'd got and never thought to use, which led to the pair of us sitting on the sofa doing a foot spa night with soaking crystals, exfoliating socks and lotions!
Our feet have never been softer or more fragrant! 😂Keep reading books!

@Florenceem - sounds like the animal world has decided to set up an ark at your house.
We made $500 at our book sale today - that comes to $100 an hour with books costing 25 cents or $2 a bag. Hope we got rid of a lot. Will know on Sunday when we go in to straighten up. Tomorrow we have to straighten up at home.
I'm ready to travel mentally. I have been trying to figure out when my vacations have been. I have traveled a lot over the years but definitely not as vacations (averaged 5 months a year on the road for over 30 years, every month on the road for three of those years). Only ones I can remember were with my friend who lives in Colorado when she went with me to The British Isles and several trips to Canada for Family Reunions. Even those trips were half for work. My first trip to England was half fun travel and half research. The rest of my travels have all been doing research for someone else, taking people to find their ancestors, or taking groups to find their ancestors. Having a vacation in a caravan would be heaven. I may have to take a vacation in my sister's caravan while it is still in their garden. Even that would be great if I have no responsibilities for others on the trip but I would probably end up having to care for her 17 year old dog. Always wanted to go on the Orient Express, but would feel the need to dress as it was the 1920s or 1930s. I do have the hats already inherited from my grandmother and mother.
The weather man is actually predicting rain for Monday and Tuesday - just a light rain but so unusual for Southern California. Temperature here was only 18C, way under our normal temperatures. I don't mind the delay in really warm days. Much better for getting things done. Tomorrow out in the yard for awhile, followed by living room cleaning.17 -
I just remembered - I took several trips back in the 1970s - to Hawaii and trips with my family. Those were really vacations. The last one was with the whole family lasted for 40 days and covered 10,000 miles by car all around the United States - fifty years ago.15

Wow lots to catch up as you all been busy
I'm still working on clearing kitchen rubbish and junk from the sheds. I'm on track to have a summer house by half term though 😃
All my cardboard has now gone and I sent a black bag of clothes to son's school14 -
Hi all, sorry not caught up but I will
. The past couple of days have fluctuated between manic and calm
. I have completed one union thing but 3 more have landed, 1 I will start on Monday but the other 2 have complications that might take a day or two to sort before I can start them.
Even though I have been up for ages I now find I am having to rush so I will come back later to update. I have a union meeting this morning and then I am going straight to my footy club to help with a massive mosaic. This might take a while as we are doing 3 stands for the last game of the season on Sunday. Our much loved manager is leaving so hopefully he will like it.
Right got to get moving, hugs to anybody who would like one
Take care everyone

Good morning chums ,had a really nice day yesterday, the traffic was kind, and it only took me around an hour and forty minutes to get up to Colchester from Kent
My old friend and I had a wonderful morning just going over old times and how much we laughed as young married women back then.
Oh how broke we were as wellour go-to really hard up meal that both her and her OH and me and my OH shared was once a cheese potato and onions pie.
Basically a layer of mashed potato, a layer of cheese, and layer of diced onion, repeated twice with a layer of dried stuffing mix on top that had been mixed with a couple of beaten eggs and then topped with a crushed up packet of crisps and some more grated cheese.it sounds a bit odd but it worked and filled us up.
It actually didn't taste too bad but as we were too broke to add any meat to it, once chucked in the oven and cooked it filled our tummies for dinner on a Thursday night before we all get paid on the FridayAll in a pyrex dish with a bit of veg cooked along side
we said it was our hard up veggie meal
pre-wages feast. long before many veggie meals were thought of as seriously as today.
I doubt if between the four of us added up we earned much more than around £70 a week.
We both rented houses ours was out in the sticks on Mersea Island, and theirs was closer into town in Colchester . so their rent was higher than ours
We paid £2.15s (£2.75) a week for a tiny cottage with only a cold water tap in the sink and no bathroom, and only an 'Elsan 'chemical loo in a shed in the garden
Which was to me as a city girl almost from the middle ages as it was an old oil drum with a loo seat and a blue chemical that was use inside it. My late husband used to empty it into a tank at the bottom of the garden that the local council came and pumped out once a fortnight.
But they lived in a house in town that had indoor toilet and bathsuch a luxury for those days , and we would go there weekly for a bath
and afterwards once clean and smelling nice again we would have our cheesy pie and then would play whist as neither of us could afford a tv anyway so card and bath night was our entertainment
My other OH would buy a couple of beers for the chaps, and her and I would drink tea as neither of us were keen on beer. Mind you we were only 18/19 and newly married in the early 1960s when women rarely went into pubs at our age, so both my friend and I rather haughtily thought that women who did were a bit on the racy side
We were so young back then. After seeing her yesterday as we had become, two little old ladiesnow we could still laugh at how life was so different.
I went to see DGS Mikey in the afternoon, and he was lovely although his student house wanted a darned good 'bottoming out' the kitchen looked like salmonella city.
I stuck my head around the door and backed out quickly and told him to get it cleaned up asapHe was asking about my friend and how I knew her, and I said to him you look at me and only see your aged Nanna but believe it or not I too was once a daft 19 year old
He was a real sweetie though, as yesterday, one of the reasons I went out for the day was it would have been my late OHs birthday, and he would have been 91 bless him, so it was a bit of a trip down memory lane
My friend lost her OH last year and both he and my OH were best friends since the early 1960s until my late husbands death in 2003. They were like brothers and never once fell out, but both had a similar sense of humour, which considering our lack of finances was just as well. being broke don't mean you can't still laugh at things.
Today it's a shredding day as I have about three 'bags for life' to go through full of papers that I feel sure can be shredded. as the forecast isn't great I shan't be going out anywhere and still eating down my freezer at the moment
Hope everyone has a good weekend
Happy decluttering chums
