Floss, I painted my kitchen diner an awful shade of dark pink once, that was to cover up the sponged orange walls. Remember the craze for sponging everything.I wanted Barbie pink but it was more flamingo pink. It was quickly painted over in lilac. Everyone hated the lilac but I loved it. I also painted the hall and stairs turquoise, yet again controversial but I loved it.
My son has just phoned. He opened the tea towel drawer this morning to be greeted by a big fat rat looking at him from it's shredded tea towel nest, surrounded by weetabix. And I think I have problems. Hahaha His wife has had a fit and they are moving to an air b n b today and someone is ripping the kitchen out tomorrow!
Mr V has emptied the left hand shed. I am expecting great things to come from this sort out! I will shortly paint the back door green.

Great photo's Granny K and Liverpool Anne.
This is also a great photo of stuff going to the tip.:17 -
C said - yes please to us taking in the food delivery last night. We went along early so I could sort donations.
Someone had left bags of crisps by the front door - most OOD.
When I got home - couldn't find my glasses.
Went to Church today and hunted for my glasses - not in the 2 areas where I had been.
I had filled 4 sacks of clothes recycling last night so emptied them out to check that my glasses hadn't got in there.
I am sure that I had them at SA last night.
I have a spare pair as can't read or craft without those specs.
Came home from Church and did our meal as there is a joint afternoon service about 8 miles away - we get taken in the mini bus.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Vulpix , we had rats in the extension for 18 months, they were taken dead out of the ceiling every now and then. I still jump when I hear scratching in the area bit so far ( fingers crossed) just a cat wanting to come in.
Can't find my sewing scissors or some jewellery which is worrying me but at the moment can't spend more time looking.
Keep picking things up and putting back, but some things out
Fabric, dress, trousers and top in cs bag.

Damaged packaging out, item sold and packaging 3, other packaging. Not alot for several hours of moving things around. Have painted vintage tray and wanted scissors to cut out baize for the bottom!
Made more messbut just clinging to the idea at some point will come together!

Sunday is a gloriously sunny day. DH has been up a while & has been busy in the garden. He has tidied up a bit, re-sited the empty compost bin by a couple of inches, planted out some more potatoes & is now tackling the 2nd compost bin. After an extensive but unsuccessful search for the rake we have come to the conclusion that we ‘might’ have loaned it to a neighbour 🤞The ‘unpleasant neighbour’ has resumed her old ways - shouting & swearing at the top of her voice at no-one in particular 🤬 as far as I could see - unless it was at me although she wasn’t looking my way 😉😉
Nice to see you charlies_tribe 👋 Sorry to hear that the virus turned into a sinus infection 😔 Hopefully you are fully recovered & haven’t caught whatever DGD has 🤞Excellent decluttering with DD2 👏 A girl after my own heart - I love sharpening pencils 😂 Good luck to your DH 🍀 Hopefully the weather will stay fine & he doesn’t overdo it 🤞5 tonnes of stones is a huge amount to shift over two days 😱
Florenceem, very pleased to hear that you had a relaxing Saturday 😊 Sending lots of positive thoughts for both MrF’s procedures 🍀
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 Almost at 9.5k items - talk about being busy 🤩
TC77, I must confess to never wanting to ride a motorcycle as it would curtail my ability to have a couple of beers 😂 I am quite happy riding pillion 😉 The vintage aprons are very pretty 😍
TC77, veggie meals swapped for chocolate 😊 Definitely a win-win 😊 I believe you are now on 747 👏
florianatwobob, Hercule Poirot is Definitely NOT on the passenger list nor is Hastings 😅 I for one would like a peaceful & relaxing journey 😉
wishus, good luck reducing your TBR pile 🍀
vulpix, not only have you & MrV done an amazing job but your Mum is a marvel 😊 as to your DB least said & all that 😉 but 40 years is rather a long time to use your Mum’s house as a storage facility 😾 Another busy Saturday 👏 Good luck finishing the painting 🍀 Please remember to have at least a couple of days off when you have finished & before starting the top garden revamp 🙏 Enjoy your tote bag making ☺️ - it sounds like you now have everything necessary to complete this project ☺️
Beautiful photos GrannyKate ☺️
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 It might have been a mini declutter BUT I see that you managed to complete the kitchen challenge 👏 As to your DH - one item in 5 years 😔 I think it might be time for some drastic action 😉 Perhaps lock him in the loft & only let him out once he has decluttered 200 of his own items 🤣 Although your children might wonder where dad is 🤔
Floss, sounds like your younger son inherited your love of colour 😊
Liverpool_Anne, as long as the overall impression of catching up with the posts is a positive one then I do believe, scrambled brain or not, that everything is right with the world 😊 Hopefully your very busy last few days are behind you & you can now enjoy the football - hope your team win 🤞Some great decluttering 👏 especially as it sounds like you have spent no more than a few minutes here & there in your own house 🤩 Fingers crossed for a quieter week 🤞Very impressive mosaic 🥳
vulpix, lilac sounds like a lovely colour for a kitchen/diner 😊 Not too sure about the turquoise although it does depend on how dark it was 😂 Eek a rat 😱 Relieved to hear that your son has managed to arrange such a quick resolution & everything crossed that it is just the one 🤞🤞🤞 Well done MrV 👏 & I hope you find lots of treasure 😊
Wednesday2000 & Floss - first the screaming, then calling DH & following his instructions for “rat-ricide” 😉
vulpix that is a huge amount of ‘stuff’ going to the tip 👏🥳 I am correct in thinking that there are 4 boxes of cables/plugs/wires amongst the pile 🤔
Florenceem, fingers crossed that your glasses come to light 🤞Another busy Sunday 😊
All caught up, so now I will start the prep for tonight’s dinner - roast pork & all the trimmings.
801 DH has binned a bag of garden/shed detritus
Cancel dinner prep - I went out in the garden & did 30 minutes of weeding & tidying. DH finished transferring full compost bin contents to the empty bin much to the annoyance of the mouse 🤞However he has built a mouse hotel in the empty bin using wooden trays, with a bit of food & nesting material & has covered it with a couple of planks 😊
We will sit out in the garden whilst we drink coffee & then will start the dinner prep 😉
