1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Yesterday I wrote a shopping list for DH before DSis & I left for the dentist at 13:15 We arrived half an hour early as the journey was trouble free but then the dentist & hygienist were both running late so 15:00 & 15:30 appointments turned into 15:30 & 16:00 appointments 😔 I spent over £110 - (hygienist is private 😔 but very pleasant 😉) + had 3 fillings) DSis needs to book an appointment with the hygienist + also needs fillings - she is not at all happy 😠 Definitely missing Igor 😉 We left the dentist at 16:35 & were home by 17:45.
It stayed dry & sunny until about 19:30 when we had a couple of very light showers. Heavier rain about 23:00 & temperatures were noticeably cooler than the maximum 15C during the day. Two pleasant events for the day - recycling wheelie bin emptied & DH put away the shopping 😊 Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & tin of plum tomatoes. Wudupa.
568 - 570 Kitchen recycling, 2 newspapers - recycled
571 - 577 Kitchen detritus, 5 empty bags & various bits of packaging (from garden box) - binned
Friday I was up but not dressed just after 11:00 as I was going to make DH a coffee whilst he got ready to go out to lunch with his old Company’s Veterans Society. Instead he took one look out of the window & snuggled back down & went back to sleep 😉 It is very overcast & dark & has rained once already, although last night’s wind has died down.
Siebrie, that sounds horrendous 😱 I suppose the one advantage for the handyman was that if he ever had the same job again he could price accordingly 😉
Wednesday2000, more excellent decluttering 👏 Shame that you have to find a new place to donate books 😞 Very pleased to hear that your husband was so invigorated by the sunshine that he tackled DIY jobs around the house 👏 Hopefully he can find a few more for today 😉
peewhyeff, thanks for the lovely compliment ☺️
Excellent work mhagster 👏 Sounds like it is becoming a pleasure to pop into the garage 😉
Florenceem, very pleased to hear that you managed to have a relaxing day 😊
Excellent decluttering ilovetea 👏
GrannyKate, sounds like you are so busy that you are meeting yourself coming back 😉 Hopefully you can have a quieter weekend 🤞
Siebrie, I imagine a bit more notice might have been appreciated 😉
Liverpool_Anne, sorry to hear that you have been so unwell 🤒 but pleased to hear that you have spent some time in the TLC Carriage & that you are finally feeling a bit better 😊 What a nasty neighbour 😾 A lovely offer to vulpix - honeysuckle is such a wonderful plant both pretty & sweet smelling 😍 Excellent decluttering whilst feeling so unwell 👏 Like you I am way behind target but have every faith that we will both catch up 😊 We need 726 by the end of April to be back on track - good luck to the both of us 🍀
kiss_me_now9, well done on decluttering your craft room 👏 It sounds like you now have most of your crafting materials on show on the shelves so perhaps the next stage is to re-sort the drawers especially as you have so much space in them 😉 Re the picture frames, I am just wondering if they could be used as cross stitch frames 🤔
You are very welcome charlies_tribe 😊 Excellent decluttering - a huge number of dolls clothes 👏 Very well done to DC5 - a medal 🏅 is on it’s way for her 👏 Hope DGD is now on the mend 🙏 & that it doesn’t put her off going to nursery 🤞
daisy_1571 & Siebrie & Floss - such lovely empathetic posts & thank you all for sharing your thoughts & experiences 🙂
Lovely gates Florenceem 😊
DH has been busy - he filled the bird feeders & fed the worms then emptied the garden box. The floor of the garden box was about an inch deep in seed husks etc - the mice have been having a continuous feast & sadly one succumbed to the deadly sin of gluttony 😞 DH used his builders vacuum to hoover up all the detritus & had to empty it twice 😱 Now a very tidy garden box 😊
The weather perked up for a short time - we even had some sunshine inbetween the showers 🙂

Florenceem said:daisy_1571 - wise words.I am ridiculously happy about - gates - there are some on our driveway now. Mr F has lived here since 1983 and never bothered. I moved in 26 years ago and we finally have gates. So I have decluttered money today to a builder friend for hanging the gates.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hello
Dropped off a load of stuff at charity shop. Put my blinkers on and straight back out.
A console table collected this afternoon.
And more stuff packed.16 -
Evening all, how's is everyone doing?
The sun is out here, but a chilly wind. Dd is currently in her ballet lesson and I'm waiting in the car.
Been decluttering those carpet moths still!, . We keep moving the furniture to get to the favoutite spots!.! And moving massive corner sofas is not easy! But each time there seem to be less, so hopefully we are winning.
Not much else has left the house. The mound at the bottom of the garden has been completely deluttered and that bit of garden finished (save planting a couple of things)
But Feeling very down today because of an annoying email! DD is totally set on going to a particular college to do her alevels. (to be honest im not sure they deserve her!) And unfortunately they have been particularly unhelpful and Infact they refused her appication until we appealed. They just don't like the fact she's not coming through the usual school route. She Finally had an interview on tuesday after waiting for one since they took away the one they intially offered in december! They have now offered a provisional place (they kinda had to, as she has this place named on her ehcp(special needs paperwork ) and now are saying she might not be able to do one of the subjects she wants. This is classics, and it's her favourite subject and the reason we are going to Rome and Athens!!! (well one of the reasons!) im so cross that they are still making us jump through hoops! We now have to take in written mock exam work to prove she will be able to cope. Surely if she gets the grades in her exams that would be prof enough, especially as she is currently doing this subject at gcse, she will have a head start as not many have this subject as a option for gcse. So cross!
Mini rant over, i think i might but a bottle of wine, it will help me with the other news; eldest child has just got his first prescription for hormones. I saw there was a bit of chat above about gender and possibiliy being trans. We've had a few years of this now and eldest it's very sure that this is the path for them. DH and i still finding it hard! But at the end of the day we just want our children to be happy. Let's hope it helps!♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

Over last couple of days I did some shed tidying/organising and today I removed a turfed area and put down stone...bit more to go but couldn't manage anymore today. Less grass to cut though now which is the aim 🤣
I put all bits of turf I took up into bags but now don't know how I'll get rid...not sure anyone will want it free on Facebook
Anyone have suggestions what I can put down to stop a car pooping outside our front door please? I'm pretty sure it's not our cat doing it16 -

Thanks everyone who has wanted to share, I love that the declutterati are such a diverse and interesting lot. Whatever comes up, someone will have something interesting and helpful or just general cheer leading and support. I'm glad when anyone finds love in whatever form. Like you floss, if you're happy, making someone else happy, not hurting someone else, being kind etc etc then I'm all for it!

Hi from another tomboy with short hair and no makeup, who was mistaken for a boy. Something you said struck a chord for me daisy, about people having more choice than ever but wanting to label and box themselves. People change throughout life. Nothing needs to be cast in stone at a young age. You never know where life will take you. I think schools are so frightened of doing / saying the wrong thing that they seem to be going overboard with it all.
Thank you very much Liverpool Anne, I think we should wait a little bit until you are fighting fit, I would love to give you a tour of the estate. Haha.
The GP phoned and asked me to go for another blood test. They had great trouble getting any and on the 4th go,got some with a baby needle. It made me feel quite peculiar for a while so all I have done is make an extremely tasty soup and knit. I did nip out in between showers and hoof the patio stones to the bottom of the steps in the gravel garden.
Tomorrow great things will happen in the gravel garden. Patio stones will go into the top garden, plants will be planted ,pots will be filled or emptied and things cut back. My green bin can just about take another few inches of stuff. It already weighs a ton.
Someone has claimed the garden chairs from Mum's and we have sold a pine carver chair that I took up there for her to sit on in the kitchen. Mr V will take a car full of stuff to my Mum that I have previously packed tomorrow whilst I get on with the garden as it is forecast a dry day.
Some food given to DD2 as Mr V is slimming before his opp and I don't eat cheese. He has lost 10lbs in 2 weeks. I hate him.
Lovely gates Florenceem.
I can't remember who was asking about what to do with picture frames with no glass. Pinboard? I have seen just frames on the wall with nothing in. Very arty.
Take care all Vx:16
