Hi all, quite a good day today. The bedroom bin emptied. A big pile in the lr sorted, lots of paper recycled and carp binned while decluttering stuff on the planner
. 5 cardboard boxes OH had been keeping for justin broken down and put into the recycling bin, the lr recycling emptied and 2 pairs of pjs have new elastic so I can wear them again without having to fear they will end up round my ankles
. We are meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow so I have bagged up the jigsaws and a couple of books for her
. Also watched the footy on tv, less said about that the better
.
@Florenceem chocs don't usually get the chance to go ood here either but these had been under a pile of OH's at the end of the couch. I did try one but it wasn't nice enough to persevere
@2Scratters I am all in favour of not ironingone of the upsides of winter is that t shirts are usually covered by a jumper or fleece
@Vulpix I love the sound of your garden, well done on even attempting to grow hostas, slug breakfast in my garden I'm afraid so I gave up on them. My dsis used to live in a house where they didn't have any slugs in their garden and their hostas were a sight to behold. The only advice for the top garden I can give is as it is probably more exposed to weather whatever you do the plants will probably need to be quite hardy and wind tolerant. I like the idea of grasses but I have never had them in my garden, they appear to be low maintenance but I like flowers
. Maybe a mixture of hardy shrubs interspersed with grasses? Is there any way you could incorporate some sort of barrier next to the stream to stop it overflowing into your garden? The amount of rain we have had it must be a bit of a worry but I suppose if it is full and fast flowing it would help to keep it less silted up. The good thing about the silt is that it is probably very good for the garden
thinking of the Nile flooding each year fertilizing the crop fields
but probably hard work digging it out a couple of times a year. I also have a no water garden and aim for no dig but it can't be completely avoided while I am battling some persistent weeds
.
@Gers I call streamlining decluttering
@London_1 doing great on the no shopping, by the time you are moving you'll be like mother Hubbard whose cupboards were bare. How is your Dd getting on sorting her house out?
@ilovetea a bottle tombola sounds like a winner
@Florafauna wow that's a lot done, I am sure you'll have it all sorted before your move
Off to bed now so hugs to anybody who would like one

4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Saturday: dry, some sunshine but very windy. Have nearly finished knitting another scarf + cleared down a few more programmes from TV Planner. DH filled the bird feeders. Dinner was fish from the chippie & oven chips. Wudupa. Fell asleep on the sofa & went to bed 06:30
Sunday: up at 13:10 to a bright sunny day. Finished the scarf. DH has zizzed some worm food + spent time in the garden pruning a tree & tidying the garden box full of bird food. I have started knitting another scarf. Dinner was baked beans on toast with chopped up lo sausages. Wudupa. No rain at all today 🥳 Fingers crossed for another couple of dry days 🤞then DH can mow the front lawn 😉 Although I will miss the daisies 😔 Descaled the kettle 🙂

Mrs SD - yes the charity shops know Mr F's name and are very welcoming.
We went to cafe Church yesterday afternoon. SA couple brought their 9 day old baby along for us to meet - she is so cute.
Sorted a shopping trolley of stuff for the charity shop - Mr F has gone into town with it.
I am hoping my gates arrive today as due.
There is no Alpha course tonight so it will be dinner at home. I don't know if we are on food delivery duty this evening.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

DD doing well decluttering, her buyers survey was done today. I just spent half an hour sorting through some of my tinned stuff and gat a bagful to go to the food bank all long dated to next year :0 so DGS Ban can stash tat in my car when we go this afternoon to the CS. I really had a huge stash of tinned stuff which I know I'll not get through before I move.Hope it helps someone out though My next door neighbour will have anything left in the freezer, but I am eating it down quite well and have got the last of the chicken out to defrost and turn into curry later

Thank you LiverpoolAnne. I just don't know where to start with the top garden. I don't want to spend a lot of money on it as the ground is not legally mine. It is unregistered and I could claim it but tbh the garden I already have is enough.I will add a video if I can of the flooding from a couple of years ago. We have spent a huge amount of money having drains put in all around our house. My builder is itching to drain the top garden too but I just don't want to spend so much. I don't want to spend more on the house than it is worth. You should call in for a consultation when you are over my way later in the year.
Well today I am delivering the blanket I have made for bit by bit. She has been in hospital for the past 6 weeks. She has asked to see me. I am so sorry to be the bearer of such horrible news but she is not expected to last very much longer. My lovely friend, my partner in crime, the closest thing I have ever had to a sister.
I haven't the heart to keep recording decluttering numbers but I hope you don't mind me still calling in to ramble on and for the camaraderie.
