Florenceem said:Been out to prayer breakfast at SA - about 30 there - I was serving food and doing cups of tea - then there was all the washingup/drying up to do. I helped Mr F with the SA recycling bins before coming home for a welcome cup of tea.
I loaded up with stuff for the charity shop and walked into town.
Mr F was taking a shopping trolley of stuff to another charity shop.
Warm here but breezy - blowing off the sea and straight up the High Street.
I sorted out more stuff and went off to the charity shop again - I need the space in my craft room.We brought stuff back from SA when it was closed this week and now gradually getting rid.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Brie - we are well known in the two charity shops that we take donations to. We have told them that we are SA and can't keep all we are given so pass it on to them.
We have to pay to have stuff taken away at SA and a lot of it is much too good for landfill and it helps the charities - we support Cancer Research and our local Hospice.
Today I took a vintage 1950s sewing box along - it was given to me not the SA but I decided it was going - I already have another retro sewing box which holds more.

@queenjess your window sill is so pretty and calm.
I've decluttered some ood foodstuffs from my cupboards. When going through clothing cupboard, I got rid of things I hadn't worn for 8 years. Three jackets and four skirts. I found a wetsuit though! Very cheap one but will use it for my swimming lessons as they're an hour long11 -
Hi all after being tired yesterday for some reason I struggled to get to sleep last night but the upside was I had the first load of washing on the line by 6.30 and got a total of 4 loads done and all dried on the line
. The weather was perfect drying weather, sunny with a very brisk breeze
. I did nearly lose 2 of OHs shirts that were hung out on hangers, (helps with the ironing
), but I was out in the garden doing a bit of weeding so I spotted when they were just about to lift off for a trip over the fence and grabbed them but they were dry by then so gave up the struggle to peg them back on the line. So a small bag of weeds removed, the kitchen bin and recycling emptied and the lr bin emptied. Some ood chocolates found lurking in OH's pile binned and 100 emails deleted.
While in the garden I checked on the frog spawn and we have tadpoles yay, tiny yet and still some to hatch so I am expecting lots of baby frogs around the garden in a couple of months
@QueenJess I agree that you shouldn't settle for things that are not quite right but will do. I looked for lampshades for my hall and landing for a good couple of years before I found what I wanted but as soon as I saw them I grabbed them and yes they were a bit on the expensive side compared to others I had seen but I am much happier with them than I would have been with a couple of cheaper ones
@Florafauna today I wore a sweatshirt that is about 15 years old. It still fits, looks good and I still like it
. It was just at the bottom of the pile that I never quite got to
Well I am really tired now, off to get some sleep so hugs to anybody who would like one

Liverpool_Anne - ood chocolate binned -wow! Doesn't get the chance to go ood in this house.
Dgs popped by to see us - home for a quick visit from dance academy - so money decluttered.
We went to SA to take in the M&S delivery last night.
Really tired last night - asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

I've had a good couple of days.
Used the free water collected in the water butt and power washed(decluttered the slippy green stuff) from the flag paving around DH's workshop shed and up the garden. So I am grateful for the rain from last night to start topping it back up ready for the next big job.
Yesterday I managed 3 loads of washing and all dried in no time as was very windy but warm with it. All LDFPA I am impressed I actually didn't iron 1 cotton t shirt of mine as I know it will be worn under a fleece.
The dining table is very minimal of clutter and stuff so that too is pleasing bits of paper being moved each time I get up and move and now down to 2 pieces of scrap paper that I am writing on getting ready to be heading towards the fire. Gosh my head is so calm.
Yesterday I also did a list of items under the sink and that is now stuck on the inside of the door. A 2nd list of the excesses is there too, as that lot is stored in the workshop/shed. It is slowly going down compared to last years list.
2 bed sheets removed from storage as they will be used later in the year for when a mess is produced in the house. For now they will live in the loft. Will be bringing 2 items down to go out.
2 Scratters xx

DP did a tip run yesterday (don't ask me what was in it, but the car was full!) and two things I listed free to collect were taken. There are a few paid-for things listed, which I'm hoping someone will put their hand in their pocket for.
The second expired bag of lentils was decluttered into our bellies/a second pie which has been frozen. I can't believe how much space we have in the larder and freezer 😂13 -
Hi, Hows tricks?
I spent the day in the back garden yesterday and filled the green bin to the top. Luckily it is emptied tomorrow. Swept up piles of leaves in the wind! Cut stuff back, split a hosta, planted up a hanging manger thing with strawberries, etc, etc. I could barely walk when I came in so spent a good hour in a hot bath. Hard graft and being outside cleared my head a bit.
Non gardeners skip the next paragraph.
I split my garden into sections which roughly take a day to maintain about 3 times a year. Back yard which is paved and has stone raised beds and pots of hostas , the side which is the site of the shed village which needs the stable bricks weeding and a few pots to maintain along with the front where we park the car and have more pots. The gravel garden with seating area and beds and finally the top garden, yet to be tamed. I bought circular stone pavers which still need to be carried up there. Once I have laid the pavers I will make a plan. All advice gratefully received. There is also a vigorous stream which needs digging out a couple of times a year or it silts up and floods my yard. I love being outside but the rain has been endless. I want to paint lots of things outside this year too. Luckily I do a no dig ,no watering garden. I sometimes do have to water the pots.
My stepson has just phoned, he has cut the rusted bolts off the garden chair with an angle grinder so the top will come off and the wobbly leg tightened. I am currently giving the garden table coats of paint in the sitting room. It is so white you could see it from space.
I have been away so not much in the way of decluttering done. We are using up cleaning products and toiletries which is very pleasing. 2 Scratters, I like the idea of having a list of what is under the sink. I will have to copy that. When I put everything away in the new kitchen last year there was so much cleaning stuff there was an overflow cupboard too. Everything is under the sink now,and there is even a small amount of space. I have to admit the lions share of the products were inherited from MIL and a lot from DD1 when she moved house. Not stuff I use but most opened so couldn't donate many. I have been using it up for things it isn't intended for! I used a full bottle of floor cleaner on washing the garden furniture. It smelt lovely.
Off to buy grit to dress the hostas now.
Take very good care of yourselves. Vx:13 -
So, I thought I'd updated at least once this year, but no!
Anyway so far I have decluttered 778 items, "highlights" of which include:
Books sold or taken to charity shop - DH has put new bookshelves up so there has been lots of 'am I going to read this? can I sell it? no, so its going to the charity shop'
Clothes to the charity shop
Craft stuff to the charity shop, local Scouts or friends
Toiletries used up and packaging recycled
Lots of paperwork / wrapping paper/ gift bags and tags used up, reused or recycled /shredded
Bags of assorted rubbish to the tip
Photos deleted from phone as no needed / one of many taken of the same thing
Child's badgework for Explorer badges sent to organisers, resultant badges sewn on uniform
Garden bench, old oven, bookcase, chairs taken away by council for disposal
OOD foods binned
Items to textile recycling
Frogs dealt with include - booking appointments for me and other family members (Drs, dentist, opticians), sorting out MOT and various other bits and pieces.
Now off to go and read another 50 pages of this thread to get up to date.
Hugs to everyone who needs them.
