Spent the rest of the afternoon & evening knitting, watching TV & napping. Dinner was pork shoulder steaks, mash, cabbage & carrots - first healthy cooked meal for DH & DSis in a week 😉 Wudupa.

Brie, enjoy the bonfire 😉 Apologies - hopefully the rest of DH’s dishes will prove tastier 🤞
Florenceem, I was exhausted reading about all you did on Monday 😱 Hopefully Tuesday was quieter & you had a chance to get some rest 🤞
TC77, sorry to hear that you are having problems with your laptop 😔 Some great decluttering & dealing with frogs 👏 Shame about the doctor but yippee to the dentist 😊
Wishing success to anyone who is ‘showing’ at Crufts 😊 & hope anyone visiting has a great time 🤞
Excellent work in the garden Muddy_Walker 👏 I hope you haven’t overdone it 😢
Good luck with your V*nted listings ~FlowerPot~ 🍀 I have a threadbare & scruffy jumper that is 46 years old & my first ever CS purchase 😧 sadly I lost the granddad shirt & the beanie 😔 The jumper really should be ragged but ……. What shocks me more is how old I am 🤣
Wednesday2000, I do believe the house in last nights Sort Your Life Out was the most cluttered one so far 😱 Not too sure about ‘the green & mustard’ colour scheme 🤨 Good luck with decluttering the furniture 🍀
Excellent decluttering Brambling 👏
QueenJess, 🤔 I would have to agree that DH is definitely missing the point 😉 More excellent decluttering 👏 Sending lots of positive vibes that DH has an epiphany & starts flinging left, right & centre 😉
Wishing everyone a good night’s sleep & sending cwtches to all who need or want them 🤗 P.S. the bird food arrived this afternoon 🙂

Queen jess does he use all 8 coats? If not, or if there are similar ones ie raincoats or puffy ones, leave out a couple and put others in a box in attic. Name the coat pegs and then everyone has a fair amount of space allocated, if he wears a coat out then he's got another in stock waiting, if he just prefers a swap it still has to fit on his allocated hooks. Its really not about how many he has, if you can shift his understanding to the amount of space available for everyone to share maybe he will see he's being selfish?
Just a thought

I am intrigued by the thought of living next to or moving near other MSEs. Maybe we should adopt a secret handshake???
I'm someone who has always been intrigued by living somewhere remote a little like the Salad neice and nephew's boat living fantasy. The reality is, I'd hate it after a novelty fortnight but I do sometimes picture myself striding through the hills in a woolly jumper with a thumbstick looking sage.
So back to reality, just decluttering random items like broken pens and old socks but it's so nice to keep on top of stuff.
@florenceem I would call myself an atheist but the work and kindness and true goodness lived by the SA is truly wonderful16 -
I've fallen behind again, I've seen some snippets of good and bad news so celebrations, cake, fluffy blankets and tea being sent out to the universe to land where they are needed.
I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment. It was a battle but I managed to get my eldest to do some tidying last night. On my declutter mission I promised myself I would leave the kids stuff alone, beyond the routine moving on of anything outgrown or broken. It's hard though, they have so much stuff which is invariably strewn everywhere.
I had forgotten how painful it can be to give stuff away online but a steam mop went at the weekend. I'm going to sort through my fabric pile and try and give away anything I know I'm not going to use. And prepare for the inevitable time wasters.18 -
Not too much to report decluttering wise, but so far today I've:
- Got DH to agree to sort through the shoe cleaning box (not actually done yet)
- Contacted bank re: why I continue to get paper statements for my current account despite changing it to online only
- Recycled plastic packaging
- Got some cash out for the book sale at DS's school later
- Recycled contact lens packets (a new discovery at the opticians)
- Exchanged my sports bra for a better size
- Did some food shopping
- Got my glasses adjusted as they weren't comfortable (they also cleaned them for me, so saved me a job!)
- Hung out the washing
- Renewed library books
- hm bread is proving ready for baking later
Will now be complaining to the milkman about another gone off milk delivered, booking holiday club for DS and then DH is making me lunch. Then I'm off to the kitchen to make a million things... flapjacks, crumble, pizza dough for later, compote, ice cream and possibly shortbread. Hoping to have time to sow a few seeds as well. A jam packed day as then I pick up DS from school to take him to swimming. I'll be back at work tomorrow for the rest!Digital:
5 - emails deleted from permanent folders
Physical:
1 - baking cupboard overstock used up
1 - packaging reused
1 - “nice” shopping bag left at shop to be reused when I exchanged an item (otherwise I would just end up binning it)
New total = 5,399

Hi all, the sniffle turned into a cold yesterday and this morning I am not better
. I moved some wood from the front garden to the woodstore when the sun appeared yesterday, about 3 bags full but when the sneezing and nose blowing got quite frequent I came in for a hot drink and didn't make it back outside. There is loads left but it will have to wait. Feeling rough I decided to do an email declutter and stay warm
. 200 deleted. I also remembered to phone my sister
.
I watched sylo last night and I thought the 2 girls were amazing. @Mrs SD I wasn't keen on the mustard either, not a colour I like at all but I thought the green in the kitchen was Ok but a bit dark for me. OH commented that we could probably do with a warehouse to sort our stuff out, yes I said looking pointedly at the piles on either side of the couch. On that note I have cautiously pulled a few bits out of the pile, a gift bag put with the stash of other gift bags and some obvious bits of paper into the recycling but there is all kinds in them
. We will get it sorted one way or another
This morning I have sorted my odd sock bag, 4 pairs reunited and I have decided I will have a sort through the magazines in the bag I half emptied last week then I can pass some if not all on or recycle and get the bag emptied. Not much physical effort required. Meanwhile the washing machine is swishing away
. For just 2 people we seem to generate a lot of washing
@QueenJess I think I would have just squashed DH's coats up and reclaimed some of the space, that is what I do when OH adds another item to the coat rail, I do have 7 coats on there as I do wear different coats for different things and different weather. OH has 10. Mine all get worn at some point but I do know OH has a couple that have never been worn, gifts that I don't think OH would have chosen but can't yet let go. I might ask about them when I am next taking a bag to the cs
Listening to the radio, talking about people who are homeless, got to be grateful for the roof over my head even if it is not perfect
Ok off for another cuppa and ponder, I have put the heating on as I am quite shivery atm, no doubt I will warm up and have to turn it off in a while. Hugs to everyone who would like one
340 - 342 bags of wood moved
343 & 344 emails permanently deleted
345 items removed from OH's pile
Take care everyone

I have discovered our local freebie facebook page and been getting rid of stuff with gay abandon. I've found another lot of stuff to get rid of but just haven't had the mental energy to put it up yet as you tend to get people asking for it within 2 seconds of the post going up and then have to sort through who asked for it first. The stuff that people will take! But better off in their house than mine
@Liverpool_Anne there's some nasty colds going around again atm, we've had one recently that's floored us.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January18 -
Either I have decluttered FB or it has decluttered me. I know that it was down worldwide yesterday but in doing so it kicked me out of my FB on my phone and pc and won't let me back in as I can't remember my password. and it won't send me a code to reset it. huffenfluff!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Afternoon all, lovely and sunny here which is always cheering 😀.
Had a hectic start to the day with eldest dd sobbing that she doesn't want to go to school, can't I teach her at home and please don't send me to secondary school. 😔 She is only 8 so that is a little way off but I think I am going to have to consider homeschooling her, especially for secondary. Tbh I don't think she would cope with the move. Need to broach the conversation with dh because he is dead set against homeschooling for some reason but I don't think I can put her through this upset for much longer.
As a result of being focused on other things I forgot some stuff that 2nd dd needed for a forest school club after school today so had to drop them off this morning.
Managed a bit of decluttering:
86 cat hammock that ziggy had never used.
87 brand new boot laces
88 kids handbag
89 white envelopes (brand new, our post office is in the cs so they take spare envelopes to resell and make money for the cats!
90 black folder - broken so binned
91-92 2 books
93 costume jewellery
94-95 bead sets that dds don't use.
96 wooly hat
97-98 bath towels
99-100 new car demister pads.
All to cs unless otherwise stated.
Been baking this morning to use up bits and pieces.
Choc cake to use up some eggs and chocolate rice crispy cakes to use up some left over chocolate and some cereal nobody wanted.

So today I've boxed up some glass s in the original box I found in the loft and figured out how to get the outside light fitting open so I can replace the bulb plus I filled the bird tables as I can now get to the seed after my sort out. I also found a big box of assorted screws and what not so I've ordered a organiser to put them all in....sounds an exciting job to do while watching a film 🤣
I actually came across all the spare bits and bobs from first time my step dad fitted my kitchen which was 19 years ago and son who was born just after is helping him this time 😱16
