A stressful and sad week. A friend unexpectedly passed away, so I lost a bit of focus with everything. Not just decluttering, eating well, not drinking. Everything has gone out of the window. We are making our way back slowly.
My husband and me have been to town to get what we need for this weekend's DIY, but due to the stress and brain fog we ended up making 3 separate trips. He went to bed early, absolutely shattered. Meanwhile, my work is piling up.
So, just counting the following so far:
1 salad spinner
1 bag of old bird seed
1 bag of clothes passed back to a friend who left them here.
1 pair broken earphones
1 bag of old bank statements shredded and added to recycling.Keep reading books!
July grocery challenge START: £150.

MRS S.D, When I decided to give up smoking the doctor gave me patches, haven't had a cigarette for 18 years now.
Would DS think about trying those?
Will try and send a photo of my keyrings. I'll try and find out how to do it.
Few bits to add today.
435 Washing folded and put away.
436, sewing book recycled.
437 sewing pattern recycling.
438-440 3 cross stitch chart books. recycled.
441 -443. A 2" pile of cross stitch charts from magazines .Took a long time to sort those. No way I'd ever get round to stitching them.
444 Kitchen rubbish put out.
445 100 e-mails deleted.
446 Chocolate recycled into me!
Hope you all enjoy the rest of the evening. Take care.

So sorry to hear that your friend passed away, Wishus.
I'm up to 75 now. More bathroom decluterring today. Plus I moved and cleaned the nappy changing table and behind it, which was a great job to get done as it was dusty.
I also got rid of some of DS's clothes he's outgrown. Some socks I don't wear, and some lounge bottoms I don't wear. Lots for CS.

condolences Wishus. xx
I hope you start to feel better soon Mrs SD.
The being a patient for first aiders sounds a hoot. I think it's a yes from us. There is a social side of it too and you get to learn special fx makeup!
It's about time I updated my numbers. To include using up a perfume, passing on a magazine and selling a mixing desk and a flight case.Other stuff I think I mentioned.Oh made a bag for DIL with another tapestry from Mum. I write it all down in DD2's half used 2015 diary.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Dinner was fish in breadcrumbs, oven chips & peas. I was intending to come back after dinner but fell asleep ……….. for 2 hours 😉 I feel marginally better so I have made a hot drink & will probably go to bed 🤔 DH made me another drink so I am off to bed slightly later than envisioned. P.S. now raining & set to last until later tomorrow 😔
QueenJess, MrSD could speak to MrQJ or better still you could start training your children to mention things to daddy 😉 Excellent decluttering of children’s toys - as although some of them have gone in the loft, a large number are going on to new lives 👏 Excellent advise for our newbies & even seasoned declutterers who have stalled a bit “…… For anyone new to decluttering, the trick is to start with anything you don't find sentimental at all and so you can easily make decisions (leave anything sentimental until last). This will be different for each of us, although clothes or kitchen stuff/toiletries are often good ones. Then make sure you find the easiest/path of least resistance to actually get the stuff out of the house ASAP. I do lots of stuff via my local Buy Nothing group as I post them online, then pick someone and they pick up from outside my house. I also put them into reused packaging bags so it is a double declutter

Congratulations dND 🥳👏 It must be so lovely to have your own home again 😊 Although it is rather upsetting that the house wasn’t cleaned & kept clean whilst it was on the market 😔 It does sound like you have taken on an enormous project, so please, please take care of yourself & remember to take plenty of rest breaks 🙏 I am hoping that the cats have forgiven you & that you have been enjoying lots of cat cuddles over the past couple of days 😊 Meanwhile here are some flowers 💐 to brighten up the place 😊
Dfw38, I do hope you get to see Cirque du Soleil 🤞🙏 Pleased to hear that DS is finally on the mend 🙂 just in time for half term 😉 Another excellent tip for our new declutterati family members 👏😊
Excellent decluttering ilovetea 👏
Lovely post weenancy 😊
~FlowerPot~ , lovely post 😊 Very pleased to hear that you & DS2 are having a day off from decluttering the box hedge 😉 Once you have dropped off the CS bags, please take the opportunity to visit the TLC Carriage & have a massage 😉
Liverpool_Anne, some great advice for dND now that she is in her new home 😊 Fingers crossed that it was just a one day bug 🤞I hope the footy gave a good result 😉
Lovely post vulpix 😊 I never fail to be astounded at what the Cirque du Soleil performers can do 😯 Whenever I watch them on TV I usually watch each act twice, marvelling at how skilful they all are 🤩 Thanks for the flapjack recipe & tips 👏
nannywindow, you are absolutely right that I should give up smoking & as soon as possible 😊 & no you have not overstepped the mark nor will I be taking back your medal 😉 I did smile at the story of the 2 tops 😅 I think I might have to use that idea when I finally get around to tackling my wardrobe 🤔 If DGS is emptying your freezer, it could be a good opportunity to defrost 😂
Brie, fingers crossed that the excess kitchen counter will soon be off to a new home or homes 🤞
Excellent decluttering Wednesday2000 👏
I am flagging now so will finish my cuppa & go to bed. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow as I am now getting rather fed up of this cold 😔 Cwtches to all 🤗 & yes I am wearing a mask 😉

@wishus - sending you my condolences and a hug for the loss of your friend. It’s bound to knock you for six so be kind to yourself.Mrs SD - I hope that “marginally better” becomes much improved today 🤞
Well , they say that a change is as good as a rest so I got on with something more physical yesterday. The bedroom has been niggling me as it was looking cluttered. I took everything out that wasn’t furniture and had a really good clean. Afterwards, I brought what I wanted back in, putting things away, in the recycling, laundry or bin. Not much has gone really but it’s surprising how things like odd coins, bank cards, receipts, unread books and lightly worn clothes clutter the place up. I was storing some stuff for someone else in the corner of the bedroom but chose not to bring that back in. It can go in the loft once we have sorted that out in the Spring. I had forgotten that this used to be my usual way of cleaning; putting everything in a basket that didn’t belong, cleaning, then going around afterwards dealing with the bits and pieces. It works better with my energy than trying to deal with the fiddly putting away first, then running out of steam for the actual cleaning. It is a nicer looking day today here so I hope that it is the case for everyone and you all have a peaceful Sunday.23 -

MrsSD - that really made me smile, I hope you’re feeling better soon
DND - Congratulations on your new home
I have started a wall hanging craft project yesterday that I have been planning for about 2 years and it’s been lovely as I know I’ll get a bit of space back once I finish it.
