Hi,
Your trip out sounds fantastic Mrs SD. It is a marvel how the performers can do what they do,and how much training they must do to be able to do it.
Well done to salad sister for not smoking.
LiverpoolAnne, it sounds like you had a bargain with the Blue John. Would you wear it more if you had it adapted into a pendant?
The failproof flapjack recipe Top tip, only cook for 30 minutes,it doesn't need to go brown. If you cook it longer it will be hard.
melt in a pan 3oz any brown sugar,4oz butter or hard marg,3 tablespoons of syrup then add 8oz oats, Oven gas 4 ,120 or less if a fan oven. You can add apricots and pumpkin seeds or anything you fancy.
dND, fabulous news. We will need to hear all about your renovation. I bet your cats are so pleased to have you back.

MrsSD thank you for my medal. Well done to DSis for giving up, now you need to give up smoking too. Apologies if I have over stepped the mark, you may want to take my medal back !
Not much decluttering was done yesterday except 2 tops, which I liked but not that much obviously as I've never worn them, they are now in the cs bag. My fridge and freezer will be emptied as DGS is staying this weekend, he's like some food monster shovelling down anything he can lay his hands on. It was going to be DGD's turn but she has a poorly tummy so he stepped in and swapped his weekend so that we don't feel left out and alone 🤣 DGD is very disappointed as she missed her last visit too as DD had covid and was afraid to pass it on to us. DGD was sneaky last time she had covid as it was only by chance she was tested and she had no symptoms at all ! Happy decluttering.

Annoyed that there has only been one nibble for the excess kitchen counter and they say they only want one piece out of 4. I've responded asking how much they might pay. If it's a good enough price I'll be willing to take the rest to a charity associated with my work that has a wood working shop to do construction training for people coming out of rehab/prison so they are more employable.
edit: oh just thought too - a friend that always has building projects going on - I wonder if he'd want any.....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I found a BB cream that I don't like and have hardly used so that went in the bag with the jacket, shoes and another top.
I am using up the end of a scented candle. I don't think I will buy them anymore as I prefer using scented oils in my diffuser. The tulips were on their last legs so they were binned.
I just watched a YT video where the guy was using AI to come up with a healthy 7 day meal plan for him. Some of the meals he made looked really nice. He made a salad with balsamic dressing that I will copy later.2025 GOALS

Your trip out sounds fantastic Mrs SD. It is a marvel how the performers can do what they do,and how much training they must do to be able to do it.I've been trying to restrain myself Mrs_SD, but I really want to know what was in it... static trapeze, german wheel, cyr wheel, hoop, rope, silks...? I've tried all of them (and many, many more) and they are great fun. I just do standard gymnastics for now though (bar and floor mainly)Still on my decluttering fix at the moment and I found a huge load of emails to delete last night. The total of all my email folders plus inbox plus sent items is just below 1,500. I would like to get them to below 1,000 as a medium range aim. Ultimately I think it should be even lower. You have to do that in bits though as it's very dull.Today I went back into the loft to put the games I sorted out yesterday in there and since I was there, I also removed a box to box up the charity stuff later and found a few bits to get rid of. Not sure the loft is getting less stuff actually in there, but at least something leaves it and the house every time I go up there. I then went through a few specific areas with DS that I realised we haven't done for ages in his room; his basket in his wardrobe for next size up clothes that actually had clothes that now fit in it and his box of trinkets/cards etc. In a nod to the garage I decluttered the last of the bird food outside and I think there is now only two things in there which are mine to deal with. It's a slow process that one! Most importantly the big frog is well and truly vanquished and will never be returning! It's in my decluttering numbers as the end result was an online account and app going. Not sure what I'll tackle next, although I need to box up the charity stuff and make sure that the Buy Nothing items leave the house. It'll probably be random as usual based on what I fancy/think most needs doing at the time. I will also be catching up on some tidying as usual.Digital:

A quick check in after my return from DDs. Children decluttered to their mothers. We had a great time. Visited 'All things Wild' whilst we were there - near Evesham in Worcestershire. Lots of dinosaurs with a walk round or train ride but also extensive collection of animals, insects reptiles etc. Very very muddy but lots of small people having a great time wallowing in mud and puddles. Most suited to under tens whereas ours went up to 18 but we all enjoyed it. Highly recommended. Lots of time also spent with DGD1's horse. Driving was pretty gruesome particularly M6 and M42 but home safely.
218 New passport ordered - it took 6 attempted uploads before they accepted any of our photos. Tried all round DD's house for backgrounds but eventually had success with the inside of her wardrobe doors which are a matt white. Also decluttered £82.50 to pay for it.
219 Eurostar tickets booked for France (St Pancras to Lille) in September for myself and 2 d-sils. Can't book the rest of the journey (Lille to Aix en Provence) for a few more weeks.
Pottering around putting things away - hope I have more energy tomorrow. There looks to be something on every day this coming week.

What I have seen of Saturday has been a cloudy overcast & breezy day - only woke up at 12:45 feeling even grottier than yesterday 😔 The headache I woke up with has almost gone & the fog in my head has almost dissipated 😥 so I feel just about ready to tackle the cheerleading 😉
Good decluttering ilovetea 👏 especially using your craft stash by making key rings for a craft fair 👏 Any chance of a picture 🙏
Moorviews, excellent work persevering with the paperwork project 👏 Hopefully it won’t take much longer to fill the confidential shredding bag 🍀 Visually you might not notice a difference but mentally you will feel much lighter 😊 & maybe you will be able to declutter a filing cabinet 🤞 Your tip bears repeating “……. My tip for decluttering is to try not to overdo it and to work in manageable chunks. That way there is satisfaction rather than putting yourself off like I have just done!”
Liverpool_Anne, a very productive Friday 👏 Great work completing the ACAS thing & hopefully it has been signed off & posted 🤞Also fingers crossed that the flour can be saved by freezing 🤞Great cheerleading & I am still buzzing about Cirque du Soleil (despite feeling unwell) 😊
weenancy hope the book sale was a roaring success 🤞😊
Excellent & eclectic decluttering TheEmerald 👏
Moorviews, it really was amazing 🤩 My DH is definitely a 💎 & has been consistently over the years 😊 Many years ago when Irish dancing was all the rage, DH took me to see Riverdance - again not really his cup of tea but he knew I would be delighted 😀
Lovely post daisy_1571 😊 & thanks for all the encouragement for Salad Sister 👏 Some great suggestions but knowing my DSis if I mention any of them she would immediately take up smoking again 😞 She is trying not to think about smoking as she still feels a bit resentful that she ‘needs to give up’. I think she is doing a great job 👏
Great post London_1 🥳 Decluttering can definitely become addictive - if you have a defined goal in sight 😊 The lovely thing about your decluttering is that you keep finding not only your own treasures but also other people’s 👏 Fingers crossed that your house will soon be under offer & you can concentrate on finding your new home on the IoW 🤞 The cs must love you with all the items you are donating 😊
nannywindow, he is definitely a keeper 😊
Crazycatlady2, I do hope you can manage a few more enjoyable outings when DH is home 😉 Please don’t feel bad for admitting that it is exhausting looking after a child who needs a lot of attention 😊 The TLC Carriage is ready & waiting for you - so please pop in 🙏
Wednesday2000, it is not really DH’s thing either but he is so considerate 🥰 Your visitor sounds like a great spotted woodpecker - they are so pretty 😍 NB it would appear that after further investigation my visitor was a great spotted woodpecker rather than a lesser spotted oops 🙊
Thanks Siebrie 👏 your comment inspired me to investigate further so have now revised my visitor description to great spotted woodpecker 😉
Wednesday2000, you are very lucky - a woodpecker & a Jay 🍀
Siebrie, that is a major project 🤩 Such a shame that your husband has to be there to supervise the building works 😔
Brie, good luck with the sales 🍀 & fingers crossed that the sales go smoothly & quickly 🤞
Florafauna, you will have to send your cat on a course 😅 Excellent decluttering 👏
Time to concentrate on making dinner, so will post & run 😉

Hi all
Trying to catch up with reading as it’s got away from me a bit but thought I would post a quick update before I forget that I still need to post…
My chest of drawers was finally moved into my DB1s room 2 weekends ago and a load of items have been bagged up for charity shop or boxed up and temporarily put in my Mum’s (much larger) bedroom. Am waiting for DB1 to do a couple of DIY jobs in my room before I can get putting things back, but also have a few jobs to do myself in there so planning to do a bit in there each day for the next few days.
After much prompting/badgering from me, Mum, DB1 and I finally agreed a day to book a skip to get rid of a huge amount of wood, old garden cupboard and loads of little unwanted bits, all from both the garden and the cellar. This came on Tuesday and I’m so relieved to have cleared it all. Feels like a (small) weight off me, which is good right now.
I had a bit of a reorganise of my desk yesterday, cleared a bit of rubbish and moved a couple of bits over, including our printer. I then used the more convenient positioning of the printer to scan a load of knitting patterns on to my 1drive. We went through all of the physical copies and have got rid of the majority of them into the bag for the charity shop. I also found a couple of books on Excel that I’d offered to a work friend last year but couldn’t find-I’ve confirmed with him that he still wants them so just want to scan a few pages from them and then they can go into work for him later this week.
Mum also went through her DVDs and we have a couple of boxes to go to WeBuyB00ks on Tuesday.
Other than that, I went away for a few days last weekend (which was much needed and very enjoyable), had a medical appt and my first migraine injection and had some time off work, part of which was spent in the TLC carriage trying to relax and catch my breath.
Sending love and hugs to all, especially those who are ill or going through rough times at the moment.
