Hi all, I am loving all the kitty puctures. I would love a cat but unfortunately OH is allergic but I have discovered a cat cafe in town where you can go and get a coffee and play with a cat
. They are looking to rehome them but it's not compulsory
So today I went for my eye screening and found out 2 things. I have very dry eyes and need to contact the doctor to get a prescription for some drops and I need a new prescription for my glasses. The first should be fairly easy as I will just email the doctor and see what comes back. The second is a bit harder as I am quite particular about my frames. I wear glasses all the time so I have to get something I really like. Last time it took me nearly a year to find some I liked and unfortunately they were quite expensive. I still have my previous frames somewhere and I am wondering if I can't find any I like if I can ask the optician to put my new lenses in the old frames. Anyway I will take a trip to a couple tomorrow to see if there is anything suitable but I must admit I am not particularly hopeful
I have done the last bit of the kitchen worktop and half of the top corner cupboard. Lots of stuff moved/ binned / recycled / put away. I found several jars of things like pickled beetroot with just 1 piece of beetroot left in it so these were made a part of my lunch, emptied, washed and recycled. I still have the cooker to clean and then the top of the fridge and microwave that have accumulated rubble. After that I will look at another cupboard. If I am going to get a new kitchen this year it's all going to have to be emptied so this is a start, otherwise I will be overwhelmed.
The other thing I have done today is finish my blanket so that's 800g of yarn turned into something useful. I will post a picture when I have taken it
. I can start my next project tomorrow night
if I have long enough circular needles. I am planning on making a scarf knitted sideways
.I
I have only skimmed the posts, mainly looking at all the kitty pictures so I will just say hugs to anybody who would like one

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
During my time away I descaled the kettle. Also received a call from DH at 14:50 He sounded very excited - they were on their way home in the shiny pre-loved car. Lots of bells & whistles & DSis was excited as well as I could hear her in the background 😝 Whilst watching Countdown I also tidied DSis’s coffee table - dusted, filed bank statements & recycled empty envelopes. Back to cheerleading or not 😉 as DH & DSis arrived home 15:55. A bit more info - it is an Eco Sport, black roof & trim. Comfy seating & the interior is lovely with integrated satnav & Bluetooth etc. DH & DSis are both enamoured & DSis tells me it is easy to drive although she says the gears are quite close together so she needs a bit more practice 😉 Well having intended to catch up with the cheerleading I promptly nodded off - it took 3 goes to watch the Repair Shop 😅 When I woke up properly it was time to cook dinner. Tonight it was pork tenderloin medallions in a mushroom & Marsala sauce with boiled potatoes, green beans & peas 🤤 Unfortunately it creates a lot of washing up which I will tackle later 😉 Wudupa.

Fizz2015, good use of a day off - a restful morning then some decluttering 😊 Perhaps you could treat yourself to a new corkscrew with the money saved on your posh bottle of wine 😉
Dfw38, I hope nannywindow will share the chocolate fudge cake 😋 Sorry to hear that eldest DD was sick yesterday 😔 I hope she is better today 🤞Excellent work on frogs especially the printing out of correspondence relating to the sale of your dad’s house 👏 A great start to ‘Frog Freeing February’ 🥳
Great decluttering GrannyKate 👏
Excellent decluttering ilovetea 👏
Brambling, cheese scones 🤤 & the daffodils will brighten up the TLC Carriage 😊 Shame about the cold 😔 You are absolutely correct that all cakes are calorie free 😊 How can any hospital, however small, not have a doctor 😔 surely that would be called a First Aid station 🤨 Your friend sounds formidable 😊
Dizzycap, wow you are a decluttering demon 🤩 Once you have finished decluttering your shed/outside space, I think we will have to run some sort of competition to see whose house you will visit first to help out 😂
~FlowerPot~, the whole thing sounds exhausting 😩 Cwtches for both you & your DD 🤗
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏
Wednesday2000, well done on cleaning the fridge 👏 Good luck with Project 333 🍀

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger how exciting to have a new car for all your adventures. Much warmer and drier than Mr SD's bike.
DD was my alarm clock at 6.23 this morning, but just old enough to get a breakfast snack and turn the TV on by herself. So I hid in bed but listening out for her 🤣 I lost complete count of my decluttering for January, last year I kept a note on my phone and am going back to keeping a tally. So I'm calling it 100 items declutter in January and 500 emails deleted.20 -
Looking at all those gorgeous cat photos was a lovely start to the day 😍 They will make a wonderful addition to the TLC carriage on cat days. Spaniel cuddles on dog days 🥰
I was tackling 🐸s yesterday, banking and bills. They are only 🐸s because the financially very difficult years mean that I still feel anxious about them even though there is enough money to pay them. I also visited a new baby and was able to wrap the gifts from my existing stash which meant that I finished another roll of gift wrap. No Christmas wrapping paper is left but I still have some for other occasions.@Muddy_Walker - good luck with working out your pension provision. I had that same thought when looking at mine! If you haven’t already found it, I recommend Meaningful Money on YouTube. He makes the language around pensions and investing really easy to understand.@Mrs_Salad_Dodger - I can feel the excitement that new car is generating from here! Enjoy 😊22 -
Loving the cat photos 😊
Small amounts of decluttering today - bedrooms to tidy & clean, bedding to wash, stuff out of the freezer for tea, money laundering from one account to another for when my PB prize arrives (£50 - I'm happy with that as I just bought a ticket for Jools Holland 😊)2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Kitty pics!
Adorable.
The one with the slipper is so cute. One of my cats Pixie used to drag a stuffed toy around the house with him, it was almost his size when he was a kitten.2025 GOALS

Aren't we lucky to have a wonderful assortment of cats and dogs? (and able to loan them to the tlc carriage 🥰)
Yesterday I was helping out in 2nd dds school - a last minute request but i really enjoyed it (and got to spend lots of time with 2nd dd, is nice because i am always conscious of the amount of time she gets with me as the middle child).
Went food shopping last night and unpacked all the fresh and frozen. The cupboard stuff will be unpacked this afternoon.
I have spent the morning running through both dds clothes as there was a mountain to out away. Going to put the unwanted stuff in my big measuring bag and will add to the totals.
Excellent news about your new car Mrs SD, lots of adventures heading your way!

Plodding along slowly but moving in the right direction (i hope!).
I got rid of a large empty cardboard box that was a good metre wide/high that was to go to the allotment… it was in the way and i told myself i have enough to go up already so put it with the recycling on Friday. The empty space it has left behind makes it look like i’ve cleared loads!
I’ve got a dilemma … things i no longer need but could do with selling but by the time you factor in the cost and time of a car boot am not sure if worth it BUT neither do i want the stuff hanging around. Might try as a car boot joblot on ebay.
I’m not flushed with cash so could do with any buts to add to the bills.
Onwards and upwards!Don’t put it down - put it away!

Afternoon everyone, my apologies for sending the thread off into Animal Magic world ! As it will be a virtual dog/cat day I don't think there will be any fighting/chasing or the need for antihistamines 🤣 Oh I wish it were a real world, mind you then I'd never leave 😍 I have vowed never to have any more animals as they always break my heart when they pass away 😭
DH and I visited a garden centre yesterday for coffee and a sticky bun, but were tempted by the wafting smell of lunch so I had beef and ale pie, pots, veg and gravy and he had a chicken curry, sadly there was no room left for a sticky bun. Both dishes were delicious and I'm glad we made the effort to go out, it would have been so easy to stay home and ruminate. Next I had doggy cwtches with George the black and white cocker spaniel in the 'van/tent centre next door, trouble is he likes to sit at your feet when you're not looking and then you're apt fall over him !
Today I have tackled a few tadpoles, you know the ones that you promise that you will do tomorrow but never get done. I have sliced and boiled up some lemons to make a drink as I'm still a bit croaky, plus I've sliced, bagged and put lots of carrots in the freezer.
Into the recycling have gone several empty OOC and prescribed medication boxes. Also an empty cream egg box, I bought 2 boxes but do you think I can find the other one, the heck I can't, I must have hidden it really well 😥
Hugs to everyone in need. I shall not eat all the cakes in the TLC carriage so feel free to help me out. I'm sure they're all going to be delicious, and calorie free 😋
Take care all
nan
Forgot to add a plastic sweetie container has gone in the recycling too, we'd had those sweets since xmas so have lasted well.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently21
