Another very busy day DS2 helped me and DH get the car ready for a tip trip. All the old trampoline poles plus a myriad of other things thatare no longer needed. After that DS2 got the chain saw out and DH supervised while I started on the garden. We have a very large garden and 4 neighbours back onto one of the sides, we have a low chain fence and most of it had a rather lovely box hedge. But it has been completely killed by the box moth caterpiller ~ invasive species which is rather too good at it job and is killing all the native box hedges in the uk
because its now dead the dog has occasionally been finding his way into one of the neighbours gardens. So we need to take out the box and replace. But this is a huge, huge job. But we started it today DS2 and I cut back and dug out 7 box hedges and that took 3 hours!!! it was quite mature hedge.!! Am now knackered and my wrists and finger joints are very sore. But at was very good to get this job started. there probably another 30 to dig out on this boarder and then there are 2 more areas in the garden of box hedge to remove too
ill see if I can take a photo tomorrow. ALthough tomorrow os a rest day and visit to mum and the art cafe, definetly a day off!

Wow you all been so busy
I have booked DD driving lessons starting in April
And....
I ordered a kitchen 😱 will be delivered 5th and 21st of April and son will start it on 31st march
I have to empty the big shed for the delivery but it's mostly the garden table and chairs in there which can go outside anyway but it's very a storage rack to sort and move into smaller shed and make room for boxes of kitchen stuff20 -
Hi everyone - lovely to see the cats and dogs and the shiny red car. I ended up doing a little drive today as I went to village tip and it was closed for some undisclosed reason. I had been considering a drive out so remembered there was a tip down near Humber Bridge so dropped my stuff off there via the farm shop to drop off egg boxes. Very close to Old Tile Works cafe so it would have been rude not to pop in. Home made veggie soup and a slice of roulade. Yummy. Whilst eating I discovered that I had become a great great aunt as my sister's granddaughter had a little boy early this morning in US. Everyone well I understand.
180-181 1000x2 more names deleted from Family History
182 Monthly banking done for January
183 Bought another £100 premium bonds although I haven't won for over a year now
184 Went to BHF CS furniture shop yesterday to get a folding wardrobe for DGD4 as the clothing pole she had keeps collapsing - DS2 put it together with much muttering. Old clothing pole dropped off at tip
185 BHF shop had a rather grubby mirror on a stand with cupboard behind for jewellery and makeup - full height. I was going to get one at Christmas for DGD4 but they were £90. This one cleaned up beautifully with just some spray and a damp cloth (only came in late the night before so no time to clean it the shop said) £20 paid so a bargain I think. DGD4 will like it I know.
186 Five egg boxes to farm shop - purchased mushrooms, eggs and plums
187 Bag of metal oddments dropped off at tip - I keep a small bag in utility room for odd screws etc
188 Three new bras purchased and three out
I've cooked a Rainbow Trout for my tea - I got two a while ago which I froze - reduced from £3.75 to £1.35 each.

@QueenJess
Thank you so much for having sacrificed your own safety and testing the scone which may have otherwise proved to be poisonous or merely inedible. You wouldn't want to inflict that on any in the TLC so it was a very noble deed.

Well yesterday we decluttered 153 boxes of books back from the storage facility, and today started replacing said books to the new library shelves. Somehow we have more books than shelves...oops! Lots of shuffling will get it sorted.
Just need to find a home for the empty boxes now!! Will post some pics when done.
FYI it's a 1940's schoolroom, made of corrugated iron on a wooden frame and lined with wood tongue and groove. Cold as charity in Winter, and hot as Hades in Summer. It was my classroom many years back and I remember it well.
Not so extreme now of course.

QueenJess, hm shortbread & hm yogurt - you are spoiling us 😊 Are you an Ambassador 😉
QueenJess, I am with you on that - although in the chain shops, it isn’t really the actual opticians who try to ‘persuade’ you to have new frames - they don’t really care as long as you get the new prescription - it is the other staff who are presumably on commission 😔 I never considered ‘1’ as a choice 😂 more a like it or lump it scenario 😉 Excellent work dealing with the frog & keeping the house tidy 👏 - at least until the party 😉 Now I have caught up I will pop into the TLC Carriage for a warm scone with clotted cream & jam 😋 Do you have a preference as to wether I use the Cornish or Devon method of adding the cream & jam 😅 Perhaps wait until after tomorrow’s party before tackling the hall coat cupboard 😉
If you mean an ambassador for nice food, then I will happily take that! I do do a lot of cooking/baking/making stuff from scratch. There is something very fulfilling in taking some very basic ingredients and making some very different things with it. I've only just started making yogurt and I find the whole thing amazing. The kids are going to have a shock when they realise that all the stuff I make is not normal! DS was confused that they are using ready made pitta breads to make into pizzas next week as he's rolled out the hm dough multiple times with me to make pizzas. Apparently they are going to practice putting toppings on them, although DS has done that loads of times! I even ran out of cake tins today as I have hm scones, hm shortbread, DS's cake for tomorrow and a pile of hm meringues. I also still have some pear and blackcurrant crumble in the fridge to go with hm vanilla ice cream in the freezer. No one goes hungry in this house! As I am neither from Cornwall or Devon, I really don't care which method is used as long as it is consumed and enjoyedI suspect I will have lots of leftover clotted cream, so I will be making some vanilla clotted cream ice cream with the rest next week.
Floss said:QueenJess said:@Liverpool_Anne I never understood why opticians expect and assume you will get new frames when you have a new prescription. Last time I said I didn't want new ones and couldn't I use my old ones. Apparently I missed the point that I "could have new ones". I always use the same frames until they get too worn and then get new ones. My current ones are getting annoying as the slide down my nose and no matter how many times the optician bends them back, they only improve for 24 hours. So I probably do need some new ones. It's a rubbish experience for me as every time I say that I'm very small and so I won't have a choice (unless I went for kids glasses) and there'll only be one that fits. They always say "no, no, you'll have loads of choice". After 20 mins they admit defeat and yes I have a choice of 1.OOh - thanks for this as a new specsavers has opened up on the high street. I will definitely be browsing to get the best frames I can.Brie said:@QueenJess

Made me giggle, although I usually get DS to be the tester. Not sure what that says about me
