Morning MFW'rs
Thank you for all your good wishes.
We have come away. We're at our second location now, and will be here for a few days. I'd love to report DH is recovered, but he's not ☹️ not fully, anyhoo. And then his digestive issues resurrected 🙄 glad I bought the im-mo-dium dupe along with us 🙄Although he was sensible with the op-8 use, and ensured he took the relevant meds to avoid their 'log jamming' effect, it seems his system is upset by it all, and has gone in the reverse direction 🙄 I was contemplating driving us all home yesterday morning.
Still, we're settled now, and can self-cater here, so everything should get a little more back to normal.
Thank you to the MFW'er who suggested taking spreadable butter - previously frozen - with us, as it did indeed remain cold enough to use for sandwiches yesterday morning, along with some cheese, and baps. The baps had defrosted (they were taken from the freezer) so could be sliced, but were still cold, so it worked. I didn't bother bringing a 'frozen ready meal' with us, but had planned to make a chilli and use microwave rice for our tea last night. In the end, we'd picked up a few bits from the local MrL on our way here, and the facilities are good, so I made a lentil bolognese with pasta. LG's favourite.
They were indeed beside themselves with joy when we announced where we were going. They had suspected we were going somewhere, and a chum nearly spilt the beans, but they didn't know 'where', so the surprise was 'intact enough'.
We've got lovely weather today, although it's not supposed to last ☹️But we're going to have a 'slow-ish' day today - we've had two days of visiting museums and travelling. We've one more 'big' attraction to visit, and hopefully an EH place, then a smaller attraction on the way home.
The view from where I am sat is wonderful, and it feels enough of a 'break' for me - I'm not bigging myself up, but I think it is quite a good job I'm "easily pleased" - it certainly wouldn't be plenty of folks idea of a "holiday".
Anyhoo, ta for popping by, and for offering help and advice - I'm very grateful, as were my fellow picnic munchers yesterday! 😁

Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Lovely that LG so pleased as well
If Mr GP is struggling a lot with symptoms that need immod-ium, some dior-y-lite salts might also help restore his equilibrium.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday

Glad you made it away GP and that LG was surprised enough. I hope DH continues to improve and his stomach settles.Being easily pleased is definitely a good thing! And a nice view makes all the difference in the world (a different view can too - it stimulates the brain to see something different even if it's not a white sand beach and turquoise sea).Hope the rest of your holiday is enjoyable!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
