  • Hiya, I've just come across your diary, many well dones on paying off your credit card, that's brilliant!
I would definitely recommend doing a SOA, even if it's just based on one month, lots of knowledgeable people on here and it's amazing how much we don't see ourselves because it's our 'normal'.
As you've said, you do sound a little lost as to think about money and what it's for, what are your hopes/needs for the rest of this tax year and beyond?
An emergency fund so things like heating fixes don't put you in a skint position is good, a bigger emergency fund to cover three months bills and living is even gooder!
Are you happy with where you live, could that be a longer save towards?
You've mentioned wanting to put spare money towards holidays, working out where and when then saving in an exciting holiday pot sounds great for you.
You're in a really good position, well done- I hope you get your MSE mojo soon 😊
I've paid off my short term credit card (that I shouldn't be using). I still have £700 on a 0% balance transfer card. But thank you anyway.

    £700 on 0% is very do-able, I'm excited for you 😁
  • Just sitting outside at work drinking a decaf coffee. I’d be able to afford all manner of holidays if I gave up coffee lol.

We’re into the more frugal second half of the month, though.

  • Hi I buy refurbished phones (2 models or so old) and then use Klarna to pay over 12 months. Ebay offer this. Good luck with the rest of your plans V x
  • Going to try for a NSD today.

I found a Timpson's that replaces batteries so I'm going to take a trip out there when I have some free time.

  • Spent £3.80 on an iced latte today. It was just about worth it, it was a very lovely iced latte. Also spent £9.85 in the on 2 x soap and some vegetables. It was in a deli type place so not the cheapest. But if I could be like that every day I'd be ok.

  • Going to do my sums. And breathe! I’m avoiding looking at my bank account.

I bought some wool yesterday. £40. Agh.

£765 left on my credit card.

  • Looking forward to the weekend. Will see loads of family at a party and going out for a meal with my mum on Sunday. Need to do a few errands on Saturday. Should hopefully be a low spend weekend. Beef curry out the freezer for dinner on Saturday.

I can’t find my rag rugging kit anywhere. I haven’t looked that much. I’m missing doing anything creative.

Perhaps it would be a good time to do a new soa?
It’s always good to redo a budget and see where you’re spending
