TNC Parking services

  • Having made some adjustments to the complaints template found through this forum, this is what I have conjured up…

    ———

I am forced to make an official complaint to you because the actions of your member, TNC Services (working on behalf of CPS Midlands), are upsetting, and intimidatory.

What was supposed to be a quick and easy trip to a retail store has resulted in a constant barrage of harassing letters pertaining to 1. Parking in a restricted area of the car park, and 2. Not displaying a P&D ticket or valid permit. Signage on the car park is arguably hard to spot, and I would deem that they are unclear and/or not lit nor prominent enough to communicate any time limit.

I am now expected to have to explain our actions to a third party private company, TNC Services, who we had no dealings with, no contract with, and who are demanding a lot of money from us - in my book that is totally unacceptable.

I am very upset and increasingly angry about this entire episode. After making this short trip, I am now left with a nasty taste in the mouth. I am horrified that TNC Services are allowed to harass customers on your behalf. I had no idea about any time limit - or indeed any possibility of getting a 'parking ticket' - until as the registered keeper of the car, I was suddenly sent a demand by your member.

I have researched the matter and intend to escalate my challenge to you, British Parking Association. However, I am giving TNC Services the chance to quash the harassment of this PCN once and for all because I feel you need to know that you and your agents are alienating genuine customers.

Notwithstanding what TNC Servicss may well have to say on the matter, no doubt involving spin about their firm 'being members of the BPA Approved Operator Scheme', I would also respectfully suggest that you research the company you are associating with. In truth, TNC Services have a terrible online reputation and are now suing customers over minor 'infringements' raised by their client, CPS Midlands.

I would welcome your own view on this harassment and hope you see fit to ensure that TNC Services refrain from anymore harassment and cancel the request for payment. My research about this matter has revealed that you have taken this action to help genuine customers recently which has helped to restore my faith a little, albeit tempered with frustration that CPS Midlands have aligned with such an aggressive agent to have free reign to intimidate customers for their own profit, at your (and your customers') own expense.

    Yours,

This is muddled.  Who is it aimed at?

No.  The BPA doesn't care about retail park customers.  The complaint is too long.

A complaint to the BPA is ONLY about how the PPC has breached the Code of Practice.  Nothing else.

I am forced to make an official complaint to you because the actions of your member, TNC Services (working on behalf of CPS Midlands), as I find them to have breached the Code of Practice.

As far as I’m aware, there shouldn’t be a time limit to bring fourth a complaint, however, TNC Services’ website states that a complaint must be made within 56 days of imposition which I find unfathomable.

Another grievance I have is that a letter I received demanded payment on the day of the 14th December, however, it was delivered on the 18th. Another letter followed demanding payment by January 4th, however, the letter was delivered January 5th. On both occasions I have been threatened and intimidated with “further action” yet haven’t been given a fair window of opportunity for payment, resulting in the total increasing, and that quite frankly is very unfair.

No it was the first notice after a windscreen PCN, which the NEWBIES thread tells you is your NTK, no matter what they call it.

You could complain to CPS (Midlands) then after that to the BPA, saying that the letter from TNC told you in red that you could not appeal, and failed to set out the provision available to allow a keeper to appeal or complain.  You wanted to appeal as keeper yet CPS and TNC conspired to deny that right.

No idea why you aren't complaining about the right things.  I told you above exactly what to say to the BPA. Literally typed it out for you in December.

    Remove this:

  • This sits on BPA’s complaints form

Any clue on the name of the clause I’d be referring to?

Not without reading it. Which is your job...!  The CoP is easily found on the BPA website.

  • *update*

BPA responded (below) and have essentially said I need to circulate my complaint to the IPC - in which I have now actioned.
