Who fitted the dashcams? You or the dealer. Sounds like a likely cause. How long since you last drove it? A dashcam fitted incorrectly and causing a constant drain could easily flatten the 12v battery in 24-48 hours.
A boot left open so the interior light activates can also do so.2 -
You have said you're not well, this is probably affecting how you feel about this. It could be something very minor, no need to be thinking about rejecting the car at this time.
ETA Do you know where the dashcam gets its power from? If you do and you fitted it, disconnect it.2 -
I had this problem a couple of times with my last Hyundai. The car appears dead and you can't get the doors unlocked. Assuming this is the issue then DON'T PANIC (and don't get upset), if it is like my old car then it is a (very annoying) safety feature that is resolved as follows:
- Remove the key from the key fob
- there is a bit of trim at the back of the drivers door handle that has a rectangular hole at the bottom
- push the key into this hole and give it a wiggle while pulling the main door handle out
- the trim should pop off
- once gone it will reveal a normal key slot
- insert key and unlock (in the old fashioned way)
- inside the car there is a battery reset button, usually in the bank of buttons to the bottom right of the steering wheel
- press this and the electronics should be reset
- immediately start car as normal and let it run for a while
- remember to click the trim back into place (pull drivers door handle out to do this - I actually found this the most awkward bit of the process)
This video shows the processhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2_iZUWUMsE
I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!7 -
Appreciate you are ill and the manuals may be hundreds of pages, but with modern cars they really are worth at least flicking through.2

To save confusion, this thread should be added to the long thread the OP already has running about this car

Ivan Opinion. Thankyou so much for this. I am unable to try it as its working again at the moment. The AA couldnt have known about it either (or hyundai rescue as they called themselves), even the dealer didnt mention this yesterday.0

Ps it was the dealer who fitted the dashcam. I will go out and look to see if I can see the reset button this afternoon. I have been awake since 3.30 am and my nerves are shot. Can I say again thankyou to you all. I’m just getting used to this social media and I realize I may not be following the correct etiquette and standards, so please forgive me If i’m doing anything wrong. You’ve all been marvelous.0

If the latter, the battery will need a proper charge.
To lose all confidence in the car over a simple matter seems to be an overreaction. Hopefully you will feel better about it after some time to reflect1
