You are surely not trying to use the MCOL website to file a Defence, are you?
On your thread on 16 December 2023 I wrote...Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.In that same post I wrote...
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread...See the words by email in there?

What don't you understand about these words?...Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website.
Sorry, I don't know how to make it clearer.
You have no need for any password when filing a Defence.
And I don't know where you got the '33 days' from.
You have until 4pm on Monday 15th January 2024 to file your Defence.

@Couponmad and I both advised that the exceptional circumstances of this case justified filing a short, sharp online defence via MCOL instead of the usual long form emailed Defence with dozens of paragraphs and an embedded jpg. @KeithP didn’t dissent at the time and I for one stand my advice. There’s no need for @OingoBoingo to spend hours getting to grips with the intricacies of the Template Defence. We’ve given him a short simple Defence that anyone can understand on a quick read.I wonder if @OingoBoingo is trying to login with the onetime use password on the claim form instead of just their government gateway ID and password. I’d suggest trying again tomorrow after a good night’s sleep. And if that fails there’s still plenty of time to email it in2

Ah, ok, I hadn't realised the different nuance of this thread.
If the OP cannot file a Defence via MCOL for whatever reason, then surely it is simple enough to revert to our standard tried and tested Defence filing process but using the somewhat shorter proposed Defence.
To be sure, I am not saying using MCOL to file a Defence isn't 'tried and tested', just that the OP has tried it and cannot get it to work.2 -
Thanks, Keith. I think we are in agreement. We usually use the email method because the Template Defence is so big that the online form isn't an option. But when I have a case that can be won with a short sweet defence, the online form is not only tried and tested - it's a Rolls Royce compared to a Skoda. Filing is acknowledged immediately and the Court serves the Defence on the Claimant. It really shows its class when there's a counterclaim, you just pay the fee online at the same time as filing.
But if it doesn't work for @OingoBoingo, they've got the reliable old Skoda to fall back on.2 -
which one of these MCOL emails do i send my defence to please?

Ok, I have made the email to send to ccbcag@justice.gov.ukYour Defence should be an attachment to the email, not the body of the email itself. Convert your word processed draft to a pdf file, attach to a covering email ('Please find attached Defence for claim <the claim reference numbers>'), press the Send button. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
