I've been missing in action for quite a while as things have been more than a little difficult but hopefully everything is calming down a bit now, so a long overdue half yearly update.
1. Read 24 books - I've just finished The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes which is book 21 out of 24.
2. 24 days in a month of sticking to a meal plan - As a family we've pretty much managed to do this, we sometimes swap days round on the plan once I've written it but no takeaways!
3. Meet extended family at least 24 times for meals or days out in 2024 - Not as much as I'd hoped 6/24
4. Earn £2,024 from a side hustle this year - I need to add everything up here but I know I am behind. I'll update when I have new numbers.
5. List 24 items a month on eBay or Vinted or Facebook marketplace or Shpock - This is a bit of a fail, I've done 12 in June which feels like quite a lot but I have so much to get rid of, I stoll think I need to list a minimum of 24.
6. Volunteer for 24 days - 12 days so far, so this one is on track.
7. Enter 24 competitions a month - Failed with this one! I'll try again in July.
8. Have 24 family days out - 10/24 so nearly on track.
9. Have 2 screen free evenings as a family every month - We really haven't managed this at all, it is one that I need to try harder at.
10. Walk 2 miles twice a month - On average over the 6 months of this year I've exceeded this but I managed very little before April as I've been quite poorly but new meds seem to have made a big difference.
11. Have 2 admin days a month - I need to try harder with this one, it's about half a day a month at the moment.
12. Save £24 a month in premium bonds - Complete fail, every thing is just too tight to save anything at the moment.
13. Make 24 extra payments to debt - Very similar to the previous point, we just don't have anything left over at the end of the month and I need to put something aside for new school unifirm for September and my eldest is moving up to year 7, so it is going to be so much more than usual.
14. Save 24 of each coin denomination and £5 notes - Complete fail, I just don't use cash very much.
15. Go on 24 family walks - If we include bike rides in this, me and my children (not so much my husband) have done really well with this one, we've done 20/24.
16. Write 24 cards a month (birthday, thank you, Christmas etc.) - Another fail, need to try harder!
17. Eat 24 pieces of fruit a week - This is much closer to 12 on average, I've brought different types of fruit that we don't normally buy on our weekly shop today to try and get myself moving on this.
18. Drink 24 litres of water a week - Suprisingly, I've managed this one quite easily.
19. Learn 24 new words a month - On average about 6 but I'm learning some really interesting things!
20. Complete 24 things on my to do list every month - On average in June, yes, other months less so.
21. Read with my children 24 times a month - This is closer to 20 but my two oldest are reading to my youngest on the days I don't and I think this is good for all of them
22. Reduce my text message/whatsapp backlog by 24. messages a week - I'm drowning still! This is one to focus on in July.
23. Have 24 national trust days out (to justify having annual membership) - Not doing well with this one but hoping the summer holidays will up the number quite a bit.
24. Have 24 date nights - Not a single one :-(
