Yup just been told the same. I can't accept this... going to see what I can get.

It was only when I emailed them to ask about my order that I was was suddenly told there was no stock left.

Makes you wonder how long the order would have waited there if we hadn't emailed them.

I've written a long letter to Sir Stuart this morning - reminding him that I wrote to him back in June about the same thing and had been assured that they were sorting it out!

Are you going to email them or phone? Or write a letter?

I dont think £10 is enough for what I ordered...

I see that Jeremy Paxman has emailed M&S about the deterioration in quality of their underwear, Apparantly Sir Stuart is going to meet with Mr Paxman to discuss his concerns.

I await my invitation to meet with Sir Stuart to discuss my problems with online ordering!

Checked my account again on Friday night and noticed the delivery charges had been added back on YET AGAIN    so phoned up and spoke to customer services manager, told her all the problems, no delivery yet out of 5 orders, delivery dates constantly being moved back, delivery charges keep appearing on the orders.
She assured me she would look into it personally and by way of an apology a £25 voucher would be added to my account

Well, well, Saturday morning one box arrived and this morning 3 more :j
still quite a lot of stuff to come but at least it's a start:rolleyes:

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Must be costing M&S a fortune ....:o
  • Get this, placed 2 orders on 2nd Jan & given despatch date of 24th Jan. So today i decided to delete some of the items ordered (as i've now bought them elsewhere) and they moved the despatch date to 24th March!!!! I then get an email later in the day telling me that my items are no longer available. I'm sooo annoyed, i get the impression that they just accepted all sale orders and then automatically gave out a despatch dates. Then its only at the point of packing do they check stock levels. This may explain why my order was fine untill i amended it, which somehow moved my place in the queue. The whole thing is a (very unfunny!) joke.
November wins...a book, a designer handbag (worth £550 :T) and a game. I am now an addict and thank everyone for taking the time to share and post. :D
  • Update: Now noticed that i had recieved an email earlier in the day, stating that they had checked my order and that the reason for the delay is that they are waiting for some of the items to come into stock. If this was the case, why did i receive another email shortly after stating that the items were now unavailable? Me thinks, somebodys lying! Will never use M&S again, with the exception of using any credit vouchers i may get!

Just realised it's almost 2 weeks since compensatory giftcard was promised, but nothing received. Maybe they're out of stock too!

Rang to find out what's going on - and they say that the letter was 'authorised for issue' 11 days ago!

Am now having similar sort of online ordering nightmare with Tchibo! They've sent the wrong item in my order - and the item is now out of stock. they say there's nothing they can do. I've aked for a supervisor to call me (as they're always unavailable when I ring) and have been waiting since Monday morning.

    Very annoying.
  • I posted a copy of the letter I rec. from Marks and Spencers in complaint letter success. Same story as everyone else! Ordered on Christmas Day goods worth 126 pounds.

Found all but 26 pounds had been cancelled. I was told I would get 100 giftcard as compensation, great - if I could get my hands on it. This was on the 4th January. Recieved letter in post after 16 days - no giftcard in it. Spoke to numerous managers, mostly Arron Goodwin. A week last friday he promised it would be with me the next day...still waiting. On tuesday got a refund for the 26 pounds worth of items they did sent me as further compensation.

This company cannot send you your orders and they cannot even send you your 'goodwill' gesture. No goodwill about it if you ask me!!

This is not the first time either, they have messed up each online order I have made - I don't care if they send me a billon pounds in vouchers I would never order from their website again.

They can give you the equivalant of your order in vouchers so do not let them get away with giving you a tenner :(

    Dear,

I am sorry that alot of the sale items you ordered have had to be cancelled
due to a lack of stock.

This is due to exceptionally high demand during the sale period.

This was not up to our usual standard of service and we are certainly
looking into it. Whenever there is a problem like this, we are always
committed to putting it right and preventing it from happening again. As a
gesture of my concern, I hope that you will accept the enclosed £100 gift
card, which comes with our apologies.

    Yours sincerely,

    Arron Goodwin
