Had 5 Elnur HHR's put in 3 years ago on a grant. Was warned by installers it would cost a lot to run them. Managed to get a contract through a local energy group via octopus that made it not extortionate but still too expensive to run more than two at any one time. Then this year the local group could no longer get an advantagious night unit rate.Panic.Saw on a blog that Eon EV contracts allowed people with a battery to join up. After 3 weeks of trouble connecting to my smart meter it happened. 7.5p a unit from 12- 6am !!! . They don't advertise it you have to ring up.Ecotricity are more upfront in their advertising in that they welcome any heavy night time users onto EV contract. Overall for me it would have been 10-15% more with themAnother hidden contract is Octopus's Snug contract specifically for storage heaters although they require the right smart meter and to be able to connect directly into your heaters !!!
