So finally had a letter, will attach on here. Just want to get some clarification really.
To me, it reads that if the claimant aka Spring Parking/DCB doesn't pay the court trial fee of £27 by 12th December then the claim will be struck out. They would also be liable for costs too. Do I also need to pay this fee?
Next, it mentions that both parties must send over all documents relevant by 11th October 2024, as well as the witness statement. This from reading the newbies bit I know is mandatory. So I will need to start working on this in the coming days.
Then finally it says that a judge made the order without a hearing, and if either wants this order to be cancelled or changed they must do this by 20th September 2024. I presume I don't need to action anything by this date?
If DCB do discontinue this, I presume I will hear that before the witness statement deadline?

Of course the Defendant doesn't pay the Claimant's hearing fee (or any fee) or there'd be no justice in the system. You don't get charged to defend.
That's a normal order. You certainly won't be objecting to it! Quite possibly DCB Legal will discontinue within a month because they can't be bothered, it seems, to do witness statement stage.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sorry yes that’s what I mean. Presumably if that happens I’ll receive comms from the court only or would DCB also inform me separately?0

An email from DCB Legal after they first try to push you to settle. Obviously don't!
Read the cases in the DCB Legal discontinuations thread by @Umkomaas to see what a NoD looks like because that's what we want you to please show us, for your win to be added to that thread!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Question - should I make a start now on my WS and send it over a week or so in advance of the deadline? Or best to wait and see if I receive a discontinuation and if still not close to the 11th, then send the WS to the parties?0

Prepare it but DON'T send it too early.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ok thanks I will start working on it shortly then. I was originally going to send a day or two prior to the deadline but wasn’t sure on best practice - thank you0
