We are almost at the end of 2024 and collectively have saved over £600k which is a great result. I hope you all had a great Christmas and wish you all the best for 2025.
My personal savings challenge for this year is finished as I will not be adding to savings in December as we have had to pay towards 2025 holidays and Christmas/Wedding gifts this month. I am pleased though that we achieved £16k this year against a target of £12k. Next year will be challenging as we have another family wedding, a few big family birthdays, lots of hiking holidays and a family villa holiday overseas. I have just over another year until I get my state pension.
The new thread for 2025 is up. Please be patient as it will take us some time to get the new spreadsheet up and working and allocating numbers. @Suffolk_lass has put the link up in her post on 28 December.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Only £19,364.58 to go until the collective target of £644,000.00 is reached. It's time to scrape the bottom of the purses, hands down the back of the sofa and a bit of pocket and bag checking. My own meagre contribution is still to come, but before checking the cash dividends it is not much more than £600 this morning. Ooh, I might add the £60 lottery ticket win from Christmas Day to that...Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

#29 with final update for December. Unfortunately between some stress-splurging on clothes and a new cupboard, Christmas presents and a new exhaust, my end tally for December is -£398.14. Yes, minus. Just trying to remind myself that while I didn't hit my target, yet again, I did save over the course of the year.Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)
