A steady savings month after a planned big spend in February.
Thanks for running the challenge!Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056
Current mortgage amount: £226,957.97

I did not anticipate how much of an incentive, seeing the interest amount on the mortgage decrease, was going to become - approaching obsessive, "where can I find £x from to make the next OP?".
Not having a mortgage to pay, let alone the feeling that ‘it’s all ours’ was worth all the sacrifices and penny pinching on its own. The single biggest benefit, however, is diverting the amount we paid in mortgage payments ( not including overpayments ) straight into various high interest savings accounts every month now!
Whenever people ask how we did it I always tell them to overpay anything they can afford and to remember…Every little helps!
Whilst I’m here can I give my update for April please…
