just moved money from Club Loyds current account to Coventry saver. I hope it’s not making too much work for you with me moving things around after also having a minus figure this month, it’s a combination of sometimes erratic income and trying to get the most interest. Thank you for updating and the work this takes.

I'll be updating again on the 28th - payday for me. @enthsiasticsaver - you helped me so much on the Debt free Wannabee boards, after years of gambling addiction and escalating debt. This resulted in a DMP with Stepchange and I stopped gambling. After becoming debt free in September 2022 I now have an obsession with saving and especially with regular savings accounts.

I will be back in a few days time

I've just caught up on here after cramming for my exam that was on Saturday (not my best idea at this stage of life, methinks!).

Anyway, my birthday was last week and I start receiving my pension this month (phew). I am one of the WASPI women who had the goalposts moved. I am more fortunate than many. I planned for age 62 in response to the Ken Clarke budget announcement in 1995 and the information published after the legislation was brought forward in 1997. It was the letter moving it to 65 in 2012 and then the uplift to age 66 that messed it up for me. Not enough time to plan for it properly, lost opportunity with the money not coming in, and the depletion of capital as I have topped things up in the intervening time from savings. If we had not been tracking and saving through this thread it would have been a lot worse for us. We have drawn down DH's DC pension to make it work.

On the upside, I am hoping the monthly savings reports will lift a bit from the miserable mark after April - April because I have a humungous credit card bill after paying for the materials for a village project and my house insurance in March, both on my CC, and although I have been reimbursed for the former, the latter is close to £2000 (the joys of owning an ancient house).

  • Hi All, Number 8 declaring £4370 in March, £480 of which was money from OHs insurance as apparently they had underpaid us when his car was written off a few years ago.

As always thanks to @enthusiasticsaver and @Suffolk_lass for running the thread this year :).

#7 Jellybaby £1,500 for March total for me

Almost 10 weeks into early retirement and still working on my monthly budgets and pots! Likely to be a third of this amount going forward but with DS2 buying his first home and DS1 moving (again!) it’s likely to be a month or two until things settle down (says I busier than ever and wondering how could I have possibly fitted work in 🤣).
