sorry but it's been all over the news that RM have stuffed up big time...ques everywhere at sorting offices for packages that have not been delivered....:mad:it's christmas you'd think RM could take on extra staff for the holiday ...
Pls be nice to all MSer's
There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.

theres a limit to what these extra staff can do.
yes they can do sorting in mail centres but cannot do lots of deliveries, van runs etc
you also need experienced people to deal with all the poorly addressed items
same goes for doing the door for collections.it takes time to learn the systems and tbh you need a certain type of person to deal with the stuff you deal with on the door.

Perhaps if they'd not striked earlier in the year, they'd have been a bit more caught up with backlogs...0

sigh, you mean the strikes about conditions and staff cuts?
yes thats the reason.i see that now.
nothing to do with staff cuts.how foolish i have been.
however im surprised its taken this long for the strikes to be blamed0 -

also ive been reading articles on how many items RM have lost.2 million,1.5 million etc.
think about it.where exactly are the journalists plucking these figures from?0 -

Yes, if they accepted the new conditions of starting later and even less staff to deliver more stuff they would have been right on top of it . And the past tense of strike is struck. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Well my Grandparents kindly sent presents from the US w/b 9th Dec and they haven't turned up. I've alot of experience with Airmail and they should have arrived. RM's own date for UK-US was 14th!
I'm a big girl, not dissapointed for myself, but Airmail doesn't come cheap and my Grandparents went through the trouble of specially buying xmas presents and spending out on the postage for them to get here, not unreasonable to expect them before xmas!
When they do turn up I will check the posting date and when RM got them, and if i'm not satisfied will put a claim in.0 -
I get a lot of mail mis-delivered.
I have a bockbuster dvd rental subscription so can see the delivery times - usually one or two take over a week to arrive per month - I assume these are being delivered to the wrong address and being re-posted. I've had a couple delivered on a sunday which couldn't be the posty.
Can't tell how much else has this problem but a number of items seem to take a long time.
I get one or two items a week for other addresses.
Don't know whether it's the posty or sorting or what.0 -
It's hardly the posties fault if people order at the last minute. You really need to order by the 1st december to guarantee xmas delivery.
Sorry, but that's not good enough. It doesn't agree with the information on Royal Mail's website.
If the 1st December is the cut-off date then they should come clean and not accept special delivery items after that date. Even for ordinary post they put a last posting date for first class of the 20th.If it’s not important to you, don’t consume it0 -
