Royal Mail - Failed to Deliver

Options
I know this is a busy time but this is not acceptable mad%281%29.gif

Play.com order - dispatched on the 15th - not arrived

Amazon.co.uk order - dispatched on Saturday, Amazon upped delivery to Special Delivery (complimentary) to "guarantee" delivery today - not arrived

They keep giving me mail that isn't mine (someone a few streets away has the same surname as the name of my street) but they can't deliver 2 packages - even with a guaranteed service.

so play say its despatched so its rm's fault.how many times have i heard that this month

even for the mighty amazon there is a cut off point

have a look over the many threads on amazon just now and see how they are struggling.
i had a woman in today saying amazon had told her that her order was on an rm van.
interestingh amazon know this even though its not been scanned at the delivery office

I have the tracking number - the rm site said it would be delivered on the 24th. Now it says there is no conformation of delivery - no wonder as they failed to deliver!
  • lets be fair at this time of year the postal service is streched to capacity i had a boxset that came at 4.30 today call that good service since its christmas eve.Around xmas post is never gauranteed its always a risk.,
  • I ordered an item from Play.com on the 18th, dispatched on the 19th... arrived this morning

It's royal mail, not play .. you can't blame them for bad postal services

If RM can't guarantee the SD service for the 24th fair enough - but they shouldn't sell the service.
It's looking increasingly likely my Play order is yet another which has been misappropriated in the postal system.

My rant isn't about the good post men and women who work hard for little thanks or pay but at the general postal system and bad management.

It's hardly the posties fault if people order at the last minute. You really need to order by the 1st december to guarantee xmas delivery.

Parcels and packets are up this year by over 50%. due to all you lovely people discovering the internet.
Due to severe cutbacks in personnel, Is it any wonder RM are having a bit of difficulty in delivery.
Just because a company say it has been posted does not necessarily mean its RM's fault.
Please have a wee bit of sympathy for your postie at this time of year, the majority are doing the best they can and i know in my office theyre working well over their time to get these parcels out as soon as they come in.

i was discussing this xmas with the office manager on sunday.
they have daily conference calls on status with the big bosses.
he's been telling them we were struggleing to clear packets since early december.

its fallen on deaf ears.we had the area manager down on friday(1st ive seen of him in the 2 months or so he's been in this position) and he was shocked at the level of packets we have.

now lets see next year if we get our usual target of saving hours from the office or if its a wake up call things are too tight.

    i know what i expect
