Evening everyone.
These were the tasks I set for myself today - modified to show their status:- Bedding in washing maehine then TDd and back on bed All done but only half of it back on the bed. The duvet cover will go on later (I can't do it all at once these days...)
- Clothes in WM then on airer in front of fire to dry This will have to wait until tomorrow because I failed to turn the WM on properly for the bedding about 10am and didn't realise until noon! (In my defence, it's a fairly new machine so I haven't gotten used to all its idiosyncrasies yet like you need to double click that button for it to actually start)
- Mr T order for delivery tomoz Done
- Stew in SC at lunchtime for dinner tonight Done
- Make leek and chicken soup for lunch today and tomoz from leftover Sunday roast. Done
- Make and bake another loaf of bread Done
- Dyson dog hairs up from bedroom carpet. Done
- Make 25 sparkly cardboard boxes then stuff each with chocolate for DGD's advent calendar - In progress. I have got as far as making sure I have enough chocolates and planning the dimensions of the boxes I need to make.
I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Honestly! I've been singing "I will survive" all blooming day!
New puppy advert paid and uploaded - gotta try and find homes for all these cuties!12 -
Oh look at those pups they are adorable (and no, that isn't a line from a song).
In at the paid stuff 8am to 4pm. We still don't have heating, snow is forecast. This is not fun.
Turns out it is 14 months since we bought heating oil and so we have been kicked off the discounted rate. The lady assumed we have been buying elsewhere which we haven't! Then I had to explain why we urgently need oil but can't have a delivery until Friday. They are going to try to deliver Friday or Saturday but no guarantees, and all of this depends on the new concrete setting in freezing cold damp weather. Why did DH not sort this out in the summer? That is a very good question, and I don't know the answer.
So, washing has been taken off the airer and tumbled, our bed changed and another load put in. Few necessary bits of ironing done. I have run the cordless vac around, put the recycling out, put the DW on. Kitchen given a proper clean and some eggs boiled for lunch tomorrow. I am putting the electric blanket on soon and getting an early night!7 -
I’m sure that we can make that into lyrics, YL 🤣 *looks desperately for Round to help out here..*
I think I have puppy love, Dizzy (sorry, that was completely unintentional!). Just how many??
So you have all shamed me into action. Drum roll, please…flylady cards are written, and it’s not even December yet. Not posted, admittedly…
Rest of the day’s activities:
Phone call with the bank of the joint account- my lack of faith was unjustified, all happened on time and sorted what needed sorting.
Phone call with building society to sort out why I couldn’t see my account online. They are sorting that one. I asked how long, as my bank (not the joint account one) would typically take months and then lose the paperwork, and blame it on me. Building society apologised that it might take max 48 hours. I nearly fell off my chair.
Washing hung out as the sun was glimpsed. Not much drier when it came back in.
Hair chopped, DD’s car exercised as a by the by.
The outside temperature plummeted when I was driving back, so it looks like a frosty one tonight. Looking forward to scraping the car at 7am tomorrow, when it is back to the grindstone.
DH is out this evening. I am sorting 🎄cards 😇.8 -
I STILL haven’t hoovered upstairs. Maybe tomorrow…

Gibble removed from front steps to yard, yard tidied (a horrible heavy-going job), two sets of fixed lights strung on the front railings and tested again and they work. That's a frog that's been hanging around for 12 months so I'm glad it's dealt with. I've also tested all the spare bulbs and chucked out the ones that don't work.
Better is good enough.8 -
bake off watched…and the person I suspected might actually win, a few weeks in, won. I am in bed with a hot water bottle, my feet have been cold all day (I bought the heated blanket for DD). WUALTD, got plastic soaking now, ready to recycle. DW and WM locked and loaded. Tea was leftovers.
sweet dreams all

How much is that doggie in the window? Nah. At the moment I'm working on Toto's "Hold the Line" in my drum lessons so that's a whole load of banging and crashing!

- flycards all written, to be posted tomorrow.
- DW emptied and put away
- 2 loads washing done (thanks Mr N), he put one load on the line outside but I put the next on the rack indoors.
- report finished and emailed. Another started. 3 new student referrals arrived today so that will do me till Christmas; paperwork printed off and diary filled.
- Drum practice done
- went to church group. Very frosty out, not at all upset I didn't do the full moon lake swim.
- 10 "presents" bought via The Big Give.
- job list added to, but just crossed flycards off
- bird food ordered
- e advent calendar downloaded and eagerly awaiting some new games to play!!!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Had an exhausting day yesterday: did some shopping for the dinner with our friends, went to John Lewis to buy a replacement for the glass thing I broke when they came last time, cleaned the bathroom, vacc'd around and tidied up/re-arranged things; prepared lunch and washed up, made the dinner, entertained our guests with my wit and sparkling personality
and did a mountain of washing up afterwards. Got to bed at gone 1 am.
Today I was very tired but A wanted to go to the building society. It's not far away but took a while to get there as the traffic was really bad for some reason. It took ages in there too, partly because the woman who saw us was very chatty (as are we) and she got distracted and made a mistake and had to re-do everything she had done (our fault really). After that popped into Waitrose, which is next door, and then to a DIY shop for some masking tape. Left A in the wheelchair whilst I went in to get it. I was instructed to get 'extra wide'. They had two types, one wider than the other so, thinking that masking tape is as cheap as chips, I bought both, only to discover when I had to pay that one was £12!Got home and prepared lunch, washed up, replied to some emails, packed up something to go to the charity shop, made tea, did some personal admin, made supper, washed up, administered eye drops and now it's time to put A's breakfast things out, administer the last eye stuff and then I can think about going to bed.8 -
Apologies for my silence. I had a bad relapse with the tummy bug on Saturday night and spent most of Sunday (apart from the family Zoom get-together) and Monday taking more meds or asleep, and did not really begin to feel human again until yesterday evening. It was touch and go whether I would be well enough to go to The Nutcracker in the big city this afternoon, but thankfully I was fine and we had a wonderful afternoon out.
I wrote my Flylady cards this morning but haven't yet had an opportunity to post them to you, Natty. Hopefully tomorrow!
I am now shattered, fell asleep on the sofa for an hour, but need to hang a load of washing over the airers in the bathroom before I collapse into bed. See you in the morning - sleep well. I have to collect DGD1+2 from school and take them to swimming tomorrow. Thankfully they're not staying the night this week.
