Thanks TG. It looks like I may move the early part of the last week of January - IF my seller completes certain electrical work on time. I've asked the removal company to pencil me in which they've done.

I've asked my counsellor for an extra session next week but she hasn't got back to me yet.

Well BG finally responded to my complaint from months ago. They've applied the £25 switch bonus - and will give me £60 compensation. It all helps. They've finally generated a bill - I think up to the end of December. They said my December usage was as expected for the time of year. Even better I'm in credit by close to £80 before the £60 compensation so I am well set up. I can now stop worrying about the extra heating I used when I was ill. Ironically my smart meter inside recently started working again... My worst day for gas was £10.52 which given that day I had it on 24/7 was slightly better than expected.

I need to ring up about my insurance. I did get some home quotes yesterday. The cheapest was close to the £200 mark so dearer than here at last May but not horrific.  Hopefully that means I'm moving to a decent area.

I got my payslip today and it was better than I'd estimated. I don't know whether that's due to the NI change, increment and pay rise or if I was over-taxed in December and they are refunding some. I.e. I don't know if it will repeat in February. I'm paying less pension that I expected - again unsure why - I don't know if that is the AVC impact or it could be that the boundary where you pay more only gets triggered for up to 2 months of the year.

Feeling a bit better today. Glad it's almost the weekend though. I've asked DD to remove her bikes this weekend or said I will give them away. I've asked BIL if there's any chance he could come to the viewing on Sunday but he's not confirmed either way yet.

Chatted to home insurer - they won't insure me on two properties at the same time (during the exchange period) so I need a new policy regardless. They were close to double other quotes so won't be staying with them.

Chatted to car insurer (same company) - I've been able to put in a potential date of change of address and my premium will fall and I'll be due a slight refund which is positive about the risk factors there.

Loads of progress being made, and how exciting that you've got a potential date for the move!  Not long now at all.

I would definitely book leave - that’s what you have been saving it for and the last thing you need right now is to be trying to work more hours to make up gaps!

Yaay for BiL and nephew coming with you to the viewing 😊

    Good luck with the packing.

    Thanks Jwil and KK.

I've gone through the bureau in the living room and sorted out its contents into keep / donate / trash. Also spoke to a family member for about 2 hrs. It's a good job I was planning to return her gift as she had basically rung me for a loan after moving. She was delighted that I would be able to gift her instead if all goes through as planned. I'd held off telling her in case something went wrong...

I'm making progress on packing and decluttering the house but in a very perfectionist way. I need to find a way to speed up!! Ah well - future me will thank me for my consideration. Belatedly off to bed. Hope we all sleep well!
