Sis didn't see this house she saw next door - but she has looked through the level 2 report and seems relaxed. I also sent her photos and a long list of potential issues before I offered. I've sent the solicitor an extract of the legal issues to look into.
I was coughing a lot in the night despite propping myself up on 3 pillows. I think it was precipitated by allergies though so need to consider what I can remove from my front room while I'm sorting things out so I don't keep making things worse. Will also go and look for an allergy tablet. Got up in the night for an ice cream to soothe my throat and had 2 bowls of chicken noodle soup for breakfast - I got up at 8am due to coughing! Really hope things improve soon although I'm grateful it wasn't earlier in the Xmas period.
I knocked my mouse on the floor for about the ten millionth time and it hasn't appreciate it - so just ordered a new one. Ordered an adapter at the same time so that I can hopefully update my sat nav. £24 I hadn't planned to spend. I don't know if I mentioned it - but I recently bought 365 from Argos for family for £49 instead of £79 renewal cost.
Mortgage has gone out. Signature updated. I'm due to send £200 back to savings later this week.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Do take it easy if you are feeling ill it is ok to take time off sick rather than it getting worse and taking longer. I know what you mean by decluttering making it much worse. I do try to set myself a target of getting something done or stay until it has been put away. Try at least not to open more boxes until you have sorted what you had. It is hard to let go but if it was cheap from a CS at least you do not have to worry about huge loss of money you can just treat it as a double charity donation when you take it back to the CS.
Survey sounds like the usual cover my backside stuff you always see. No house will pass todays regulations but do check for DIY bodges mine had loads but I was planning on rewiring so did not mind but I had not spotted this until we started to rip things down. The kitchen was the worst due to lack of sockets.
AND GET THAT SPARE SOFA LISTED ON MARKET PLACE. Sorry for shouting but it must be seriously in the way. I am going to have decluttering on my list to achieve this year inspired but you and LadywithaPlan.

Can you cover the new sofa with something to protect it from dust and other allergens while sorting through and decluttering? You don't want to move furniture that makes you cough.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Thanks TG and @Baileys_Babe
I wonder if I should wear a mask when I go back after hairdressers. I did wonder if the new sofa was part of the issue. I was very allergic when I bought a new bed so it's possible. Apparently the preservative they spray it with sets some people off. Formaldehyde. If they still use that...
I was in and out of the freezing garage and in and out of the kitchen and lounge yesterday. So it could be dust, allergens and changes of temperature.
The old sofa is in really bad condition. I might list it to see if it saves me 45 quid disposal but it's not in great condition. Looks dirty but it doesn't look any better after wiping so think that's age. I am embarrassed to list it. Would look nice with the rip sewn and repainted... I have literally got acrylic paint on one of the arms too which doesn't help...
I may get my cleaner to put legs on the new sofa tomorrow and dismantle the other one (it splits in two as it's a corner one). Then we could put it in the garage awaiting collection.
My boiler guy is booked in for Friday at my house so at least that will be sorted.
So glad I have today off. Hoping to drop some textiles at textile bank later. Need to try and finish what I started and then that will at least reduce the allergens around. I moved all the cleaners back out of the lounge this morning so hoping that will help. There was a rim toilet gel near my chair half out of his packaging which could have been setting me off. I don't buy them any more but took one out for the downstairs loo yesterday rather than binning it after I found it under the stairs. It was probably years old...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well done on finding the easel SH. Makes the decluttering worth it when you find a hidden treasure. Glad your sister is being supportive re the house. I agree that your list of pros for the new house outweigh the cons.

Thanks all. I appreciate the comments about potential need to go off sick given I have been coughing all night. I really hope my cleaner didn't give me her long lasting illness and that this goes quickly. Will text her later and see if she wants to risk coming.
DD and her BF popped round yesterday. Hope I didn't pass it on to them or the hairdresser.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
