Made the mistake of looking up the weather for while I'm away and I am due thundery showers every day. Let's hope that doesn't happen! Looks like I need to take a coat though. I am due good weather before I go though so will have to make the most of that. It made me want to take a laptop / tablet with me so I had something to call on if the weather wasn't the best. It's due to be bad say 2-3 hours a day rather than all day so hopefully it won't be as bad as it seems in my head.
I've had a lazy day today and didn't bother getting dressed. I spent a lot of it - and some evenings of this week - down the tablet/laptop rabbit hole. Spoke to my counsellor today who basically said I'd benefit from getting out more - and spending more time back on here for accountability. Since I turned the spending tap on with moving here it is proving difficult to turn back off. My eating has also worsened in the last week or two so I'm struggling with impulse control generally. I have been spending less time on here - so that definitely could be part of it - like I'm spending more and hiding it... or trying to - yet still updating my spreadsheet so I know how 'naughty' I've been. More than I like is being frittered currently - I'd rather it was bigger things so they made an appreciable difference to my life.
I have tried reading some of my journal around why I originally wanted to move - to try and get me back in a money saving rather than spending spirit but it hasn't totally worked yet. What did help with the tablet temptation was realising that there's due to be a big sale on Am**** in mid July and I'd regret it if I spent too much now. When I asked myself where I'd pay for my spending from if I went down the using my current account instead of 0% CC that also helped.
Will take it a day at a time. Tomorrow I'm due at the hairdressers. I may look at going swimming outdoors at some point over the next few days.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I blame my house renovation for the overspending and am overlooking the new boots, the reading light and so on LOLMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!6 -
Thanks Beanie, Jwil and Watty. Glad I am not alone in the over spending. Hope we all rein it in enough soon.
I went to Keswick and then a stone circle after the hairdresser. Always restores my soul. There may also been pie and chips at the circle... It was a very long trek so glad to be safely home again. I'd been craving a visit... I try to go every year at least once although I don't always make it.
It made me feel more positive again about my upcoming holiday. Where I will get to experience an Italian version.
