Thanks LWAP, Mark, Lucielle, WD and DIA
I made it on holiday and it's stunning here and so worth it. The days leading up to it were fraught however. I got water in my phone and had to replace it. I bought a cheap one locally and then travelled over 2 hours to get the one I wanted not far from the airport. That added massively to my stress and disorganisation and I cried a lot!
I got to my T room OK but other than a quick shower spent the whole time setting up my phone and finalising my packing. I left a quarter of what I'd brought in the car as i'd rushed to leave the house earlier due to trying 3 different towns for my phone before i reserved online. As a result of stress I failed to check what car park I should have been in and parked in the wrong place which is due to cost nearly £300 in stupid tax. I was about an hour later than planned to the airport adding to my stress. Plus it had a massive queue etc. My flight was 3 hours late leaving.
By the time I got to sleep I had been up over 27 hours! Yesterday I explored a nearby forest.
Today I am hoping to go up a cable car. I spent a lot on a phone with c500 gb memory. So glad I did though. It takes great photos and movies. I have a view of the lake and mountains from my room.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I'm loving my new phone. My old one wouldn't have coped as it was nearly out of memory and overheated in British weather.
The weather has been fab not like the forecasts that scared me.
Today I visited a medieval church and then went up in a cable car. I had a beautiful bolognese pasta and panna cotta. It was very hot. The views were like something off a movie. The lake really is turquoise.
I walked for a while but over faced myself. The Italian idea of a family friendly walk and mine are vastly different. Thankfully an Italian family offered me a lift back part way round as I was obviously struggling and there were no taxis. They dropped me where I could get a free bus. I need to buy walking poles tomorrow. I used a series of sticks today!
One of the staff here has offered his help in the morning to plan other trips I could do. He also said if I was stuck I could ring and someone from the hotel would come and get me. That made me feel much safer and better after I got quite anxious today. He has also said I can WhatsApp him/the hotel where I am so that was also positive.
I have never done this kind of holiday before and I am trying to test / stretch my limits 🙃 while making the most of the views and stunning weather. I'm hoping that if I can improve my fitness here that I can have better habits when I return home.
