    Those strawbs look delicious!

Goldfinches have a sort of a burbling call - they sound like they're talking nonsense, but I imagine it all makes sense if you are another Goldfinch. And jackdaws are another bird that says it's own name - they say "Chak! Chak!" at the tops of their voices! (Curlews also do this, but the king of this one is the Corncrake which says it's own name in Latin - how's that for brains, eh?! "Crex Crex" in case you were wondering - one of only a few birds I know the Latin name of).

    Thanks KK, Jwil and EH

Really counting down the hours to finishing for my break!! Been fairly productive though. I'm debating taking Friday afternoon off... Probably a waste of leave though

Yesterday's walk led to pain today - muscle ache - but weirdly more pain on my right side than my left. I'd say my left was weaker - so it could be that I leaned more heavily on my right side or something I don't know. I do know that if I ever want to walk that route again I'd want walking poles to reduce the likelihood of slipping. I came an easier but longer way back to avoid some steps I went down.

My eyes are slightly less sore than the start of the week - but I may try and get some antibiotic cream or something anyway as what I've been cleaning them with has triggered some eczema. (It's happened before). I also need to go and pick up a bloods form. I also need to order some meds tomorrow - and make sure the medication letter they promised me is fit for purpose.

The cleaner came today so everywhere except my bedrooms, and the back or my art area looks reasonable. I moved a gazebo I'd been given into the garage earlier so that's an improvement. (It was part in my car and part in my art area before).

I've just amended my phone deal to get double the data on my existing phone and remove the film package. That will cut my bill from close to £17 to £8. After 3 months I can upgrade my phone anyway I think but that will put me on for a bit - and should mean I have plenty of data while on holiday (30 instead of 15). Best part was I didn't need to change my sim. I can then review if I want any add ons or if I still want to change my phone after my holiday. Generally I prefer to buy the phone outright and keep monthly costs lower.

We always buy our unlocked phones outright, it works out so much cheaper in the end. We have a phone replacement pot which is for our and the children's replacement phones, cases, screen protectors etc so the money is there when we need it.

Yes I always have bought my phone outright and unlocked - often the previous model from music magpie etc
however looking at current deals on even the iPhone 15 plus and pro it’s actually cheaper to get on a contract even with me wanting eu roaming included

I may do a wish farm YNAB target for an iPad but other things are more important but be lovely to have a tablet for travelling

hope your break is restful !
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
