1. save enough for the decorator to emulsion the hall again
2. save enough for someone to sort out front pavings, I park my car on them and they are all dislodged and look awfull, gotta get them sorted
3. buy a new oven and keep it clean:eek:
4. walk my dog round the bigger block everynight, even in rain and snow, ( so we both can loose some weight and get fit)
5. write a book out of my blog.
6. try more different foods, cooking and tasting
7. Not overdo it at work and try to fit hours in over 4 days, not 5, so have chill out time
8. Not to buy bacon sandwiches at work and loose 8 lbs, so back down to 9 stone 12lb. (easier said than done this one! )
9. Say 'no' to negative family/ friends who suck your energy, try and keep them at arms length ( this one is also difficult)
10. stop being obbessed with hot flushes:mad: lol
11. clean out loft and emulsion it white
12. plan my summer hols money saving style with help from mse travel board

Mine are to lose weight without eating horrible diet ready meals, to drink less alcohol and to save some money.0
-
My goals are:
- Continue to lose weight by eating sensibly and continue with the early morning gym membership - I go 4-6 times a week already (consistently over the past 2 months) and am loving it. I've lost a stone and want to lose 4 more slowly, so 20% down. Continue to challenge myself on weight-training and develop more muscle. Try different sports to find more cardio that I enjoy, like ice-skating and horse-riding.
- Cook as much as possible from scratch, taking packed lunch into work. Batch-cook on weekends once kitchen is decluttered and old equipment discarded.
- Use tomorrow to go through cupboards/freezer and list existing food to be used up. Source decent tubs for freezing.
- Reduce weekly food bill and shop with cash only; use separate purse for household money. Plan meals weekly and keep record of all money spent.
- Organise garden so I can grow fruit and veg, now I've given up the allotment.
- Be organized with housework but not do it all. Pandora - I hear you on badtempered martyrdom!
- Get enough sleep; lights out by 10pm.
- Sort out/cull our thousands of books. Build bookshelves for bedroom alcoves next week; that'll get a few hundred off the floor.
- Challenge my mind. Am doing an HTML course in February. Read 2 books a week that I've been meaning to read and haven't got round to yet.
- Maintain my yearly 'getting my life sorted' document. It's split into various areas, with goals in each - health, work, house, finances, leisure. I've learned the value of setting realistic interim goals along the way instead of one massive splurge.0 -
Right now ... still doing my "work in progress" thing. I'm focussing on my cleaning materials at present. I've been using up my conventional ones for last few months - so most of them are now gone. Will give the loo cleaner to mother (as I know shes going to continue to buy conventional products anyway - whatever I say).
Been and bought myself some "non-brewed condiment" - as it states its used for pickling, etc - so I figure its vinegar by another name and I can use it for cleaning. "Recipes" usually state white vinegar - but I would think (correct me if I'm wrong please!) that I could use malt vinegar for shower-cleaning and loo cleaning purposes - being as how its cheaper than white vinegar.
Liquid soap is proving a bit more difficult to source - I can see where I can buy it over the internet - but feel its such an everyday thing I should be able to buy it locally (can I heck?) - so am investigating what alternatives I can use ( thinks: maybe soap flakes made into "gloop"/maybe Ecover Delicates washliquid/maybe soapnuts made into "gloop") - as I see so many homemade cleaners use liquid soap as a basis.
Busy collecting suitable containers as well for homemade cosmetics - whilst I use up the ones I have.
2007 saw me FINALLY free at last of mortgage and debt - so I plan for 2008 to see me starting up some savings (apart from the £2 coin savings thing I am already doing - just in case it were ever needed to "top-up" the £3,000 stupidly low capital limit allowed if one has to claim benefits).
Bit by bit am trying to put little bits of "organisation" into my life (daft little things like having somewhere specific I put my keys and mobile phone - so I dont spend ages belting frantically round the house looking for them and being late for work).0 -

I've got one of Martin's books re. white vinegar and cleaning but reading it is as far as I've got - must try harder

That sound like a great idea but I wouldn't have any idea where to start!!! I remember my girly attempts at making perfume when I was little-many moons ago. (the results were yuk, but I thought it was great for one so young-lol)

hmmm.....lots for 2008! full of good intentions but always forget half way through january! so, let's see....
1) lose weight - about 5 stone should do it (so that'll be done by the end of january then!)
2) get fitter
3) keep track of all spending and stick to a budget (large income cut in 2008)
4) choose economical and not expensive recipes!
5) organise paperwork
6) paint bathroom (imminent so may be done before jan!)
i'm sure there are a lot more - daughter is expecting her first child in june so that will keep us busy no doubt!
have to go - visitors here for slap up meal now!
bye bye - carrie x0 -
That really isn't a stupid idea, I always spend ages searching for my keys because i never know where I might have put them. I ought to sort out something like this and start to get some organisation in my life!!! Thanks for the idea/tips.
Hi :hello:
I have a little glass bowl on top of the shoe cupboard in my hallway which my keys get dumped in as soon as I get in - it saves me hours looking for them :rotfl: :j:j Where there is a will there is a way - there is a way and I will find it :j0
