    Hello everyone and merry christmas. I've not posted on here for months. I've got a whole 2 weeks off work so I'm going to try and get back into MSE.

    My challenges for next year are:

    1 To save again for next christmas. I haven't done too badly this year but could do better.
    2 To enter at least 5 competitions a day.
    3 To leave work on time at least twice a week.
    4 To take lunch to work.
    5 To get back to meal planning and cooking from scratch and to shop to a budget.
    6 To lose weight - tried towards the end of the year but my heart wasn't in it. My daughter is getting married in June so I have an incentive.
    7 To try to get to grips with the housework and to get my (adult) kids off their backsides and helping.
    8 To get back to doing some cross-stitch.
    9 To get some decorating done and make the house child friendly for when my daughter and granddaughter visit and finally.....
    10 To have one night out per month with my dh.

    It feels great writing all that down - I've really missed OS!!!

    For 2008 I hope to lose some of the weight I set out to lose in September...none gone yet;
    to keep knitting and crafting in other ways to provide myself with minimum cost Christmas and birthday presents;
    to continue the small effort I have made to declutter the house, not to buy anything until that is done;
    same as above with my clothes...I have so many and still have to root through my whole wardrobe when I am going somewhere...so organise all that;
    continue to try to stay within budget and keep monies separate so that I will know how much there is in each pot.

    Can't see myself doing anymore and will be very pleased if I have managed to do that much by 23/12/2008

  • My goals for 2008
    I'm having major surgery on Jan 7th, and aim to regain fitness by April. I'll define fitness as getting daily step average on pedometer up to 10,000 again, it will plummet while I'm recumbent.

    While convalescing I aim to create our wedding album, by scanning in all the pictures, getting them printed and in an album in time for our 15th wedding anniversary on May 16th.

    Clear out the sideboard, cupboard under the stairs, the jumbly cupboard, and investigate damp in the wardrobe.

    Send off six poems every month. Nobody gets published unless they submit work. Sylvia Plath had a record collection of rejection slips - nobody received more than she did.

    And finally - write my father's biography, edit all his letters, and incorporate them into a book with photos for the next generation.

    I won't do all this, but these are the aims

    OK been sat here thinking about my aims for the year and they are all geared to going to Oz in 2009!

    -Got to decorate and declutter the house for renting it out
    -Have joined a few of the callenged on DFW to save approx £20k so we dont have to worry about working when we get out there.
    -Spend more time cooking, to help me loose a bit of weight and save some money.
    -keep entering comps and look at other money making ideas.

    I'll have 30 hours 'spare' from next month as I'm loosing some hours at work so in theory I should have time for this little lot :cool:
    WIN £2008 in 2008 £1836.31 2009 wins - £91!!! 2010 wins in Oz $ 6170.... wins 2011 aprox $2000
    MFIT - number 37. Reduce my mortgage from £63,500 to £48,000. now at 54,000...

    my aims for next year include:

    saving money - like everyone else.

    loose weight - 1 to1&1/2 stone before i see my consaultant in about 10 weeks.

    sort out the spare room so as i can recieve visitors - there is a single bed in there somewhere but it has dissapeared under a pile of junk!

    sort out my paperwork and file it in a orderly manor - i have a vague recolection of there being a filing cabinate next to the bed in the spare room!!

    make a written/printed record of recipies for batch cooking and utilise my freezer to better use.

    make better use of seasonal fruit and veg. using freezer to gain max low cost benifit.

    meal planning to keep shopping costs down.

    start peparing for christmas 2008 in january sales.

    get better at keeping the ironing pile down.

    maximise potential of pot grown veg in small back yard.

    get round to using all the branded cleaning products that are under my sink since discovering stardrops - i paid for them i may as well use them!!

    maximise bogoff offers on products i use all the time.

    Hiya everyone.
    My goals for next year are
    1-Have xmas 2008 sorted by end of Sept, and i mean wrapped and finished.
    2-Save as much as possible, towards paying off some debts early.
    3-Cut down even more on the shopping bill
    4-Make a housework rota and stick to it.
    5-Make a household journal to keep all my recipes and important os stuff in.
    6-Join in on more of the challanges on this site to keep me focused.

    Im sure i will be adding to this but my main goal is to cut my debt managment plan down by over a year, by making extra payments so hoping for debt free life by Dec 2009!!

    Good luck everyone and happy christmas.

    Hi everyone, my goals are:

    Save enough money to sort out damp in our back room (behind the chimney breast) and fix the ridge tiles on our roof

    Not to get stressed over stupid little things

    Eat healthly

    Grow loads more veg in my allotment and try not to waste any of my produce (i suppose i don't waste veg as such as it will always go back on my compost heap)

    Enjoy a simpler life and completely get away from the 'i've got to have the latest gadget' world. This year i've tried really hard to stop looking at other people and comparing myself, this is the year i feel lucky for what i have got (instead of always looking at what i haven't got)!

    Lose a stone...he he he (its tradition for me to say this and not do it)

    Spend more time playing my violin.

    Spend less time on this forum....he he....i know i won't do this one!
